  • Matt Chandler speaks at the opening session of the Ablaze Conference 2021, held at Biola University.
Explore how the Holy Spirit sparked revival 50 years ago in the Jesus People Movement - and how he can set us ablaze again today. Hosted at Biola University on October 7-9, the Ablaze Conference featured plenary speakers, workshops, worship and a special reunion concert with musical artists from the Jesus People Movement.
Matt Chandler serves as the lead pastor at The Village Church in Flower Mound, TX. He came to The Village in December 2002, and describes his tenure as a replanting effort where he was involved in changing the theological and philosophical culture of the congregation. Matt is currently involved in church planting efforts both locally and internationally through The Village and various strategic partnerships. He serves as president of Acts 29, a worldwide church-planting organization. Over the last 10 years, Acts 29 has emerged from a small band of brothers to over 600 churches in the United States and around the world. His greatest joy outside of Jesus is being married to Lauren and being a dad to their three children, Audrey, Reid and Norah.

In 2020 and 2021 God had kept putting the Jesus people movement on my heart. It was a revival of young people. Matt is spot on here. God wants to do it again.

The Holy Spirit brings order out of chaos! Amen. He is the source of illumination and power! Amen. I am old enough to remember personally the outpouring of the Spirit in the late 60’s after graduation from Biola. I am so glad for the weight of the Spirit and the opening of the Word of God to me then and in all these years since.

Any chance you will be posting the musical performances also? I have only seen the 1 song by the 2nd Chapter of Acts but would love to hear everything.

Unfortunately we don't have the rights to post the musical performances.

@@BiolaUniversity What a shame. 2nd Chapter of Acts sound as good as they did 40 years ago. This is something that should be shared with everyone. If you do not have the rights then maybe contact who does. This is an extraordinary performance that is important. Maybe even more so than the spoken word.

@@BiolaUniversity Matthew already posted one of the songs they sang that day on his youtube channel so I am not sure "rights" are that big of an issue.

    Will you go to Heaven?
Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain?
Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called H_ll. But God is not willing that any should perish.
Sinners broke God’s Law and *Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have you life.”*
Then Jesus rose from the grave, defeating it. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you. (living waters/ray comfort)
    God bless you

How did he think it was ok? It is very hard to listen to him as he lacks discernment.

You’re blinded by the enemy that you cannot understand the things of the Spirit until you repent & take on the Lordship of Jesus & Receive the Fullness/Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Why would anyone who claims to be a solid Biblical university have Matt Chandler preaching? He’s become more obsessed with social justice then the Bible.

Do you listen to Matt Chandler on regular basis, let say from week to week?

Not a great take Andrew, clearly you just watched some clips on social media.
      I think you’re thinking of Steven Furtick…
Matt often gets mocked for being TOO biblically obsessed….

It's been said already, but I listen to this guy on a weekly basis and he doesn't seem anywhere near "obsessed with social justice".

Very true…he’s obsessed because he doesn’t obey Jesus. He doesn’t manifest the presence of God. He just talks.
