I know this in my heart, but I’m still guilty of loving “the sign”. I know that God doesn’t exist to meet my wants and desires, but I still wrestle with “feeling” a certain way toward God based on my circumstances and answer to prayer. God give me a heart for You. Help me to see you as enough.
i listen to Matt Chandler's sermons on my way to college (40 min drive, so i hear it all), and I just love the messages the Lord puts on him. this one in particular struck me.
Heavenly Father, I’m coming down at your feet for this person. I pray Jesus that You help them. That You’ll just be there for them. Not only heal their physical need but heal their heart. Use this to bring them closer to You and have Your way. Show them that they don’t have to fight bc You already won. May Your will be done. In Jesus name, amen. I would like to leave you with this verse Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (NKJV) have a good day. God bless you💙
just now seeing this comment. Dear Lord, i PRAY this person is still fighting. give them your hand, soothe their anxieties, remind them that You are there with them. i pray they're okay, Lord. give them rest, and also give them motivation. in Jesus name, amen! (i really do hope you're okay and entrust the Lord with your anxieties and restlessness)
My greatest mentor used to ask the audience: Is Matthew 10:8 a Commandment or a suggestion? I always thanked God he never asked me, directly. After a few yrs of study I invited him to lunch, & explained how frightening his Q was to me. I told him that I finally realized the correct answer. That for me it was neither. In my own spirit I know that Mt 10:8 is an invitation. Amen
30 minutes in I was definitely in the Dee church group. When we substitute the gospel for rules and regulations we inherently look to ourselves to accomplish those rules and regulations. And when we fall short we question the fathers ability to love it such a mess. This is good stuff

One of our wise and wonderful Forever Sisters recommended this video to me, and I am SO grateful she did! I have 6 pages of notes (yes, SIX!), because she asked me to tell her what I think, and I'm about to share the video and the notes with her on Facebook... Thank you for challenging and teaching and putting things in eternal perspective for us, dear Brother. I look forward to meeting you at The Family Reunion, someday soon!
Is it my job to make myself feel joy and love Jesus or is it my job to know I personally can’t on my own and surrender to Jesus and allow him to change me? Or is the answer ‘none of the above?’
As Matt said, "You can't fool God."....You go to Him fully prepared to surrender ALL rights to yourself to Him...That is why I believe so many find Christ when they hit "rock bottom". They have exhausted every carnal means imaginable to fix their lives. In essence, they are truly ready to wave the white flag.
The answer is obedience! When we choose to obey the word, we will change and feel joy! And its all done by the power of the Holy Spirit through our obedience. God Bless you!

“They haven’t tried Jesus, they have tried themselves.”
Such a good truth shared.
I want to hit like on this again, but can't. Thank you, praise Christ
i beg anyone to pray for me. I've given up. my health is tanking and I cannot fight anymore.

Bro. Matt, thank you for this! I appreciate your conviction for Truth and how you lay it out for us.
What an incredible message. It really hit me in the gut and convicted me of needing to seek Christ at a deeper level.

Max Smith thanks Max. I have always struggled with “where does my responsibilities end and God’s sovereignty begin”
