Awesome to come home from work, make a pizza, eat the pizza and drink beer while watching Mike go through his entire antenna collection. Who needs Netflix! Thanks for sharing Mike! And for what its worth, its not a problem, you're just a normal antenna-obsessed Ham...like me. I have at least 20. Cheers and 73!
I agree I have a great antenna and amplifier now to upgrade my electric wiring so I don’t burn down the 14/3 wiring. Got to upgrade for my alpha 77dx going with 10/3 on 30amp breaker using armored conduit, think it may pull easier through the wall studs. Antenna is a Hw doublet on 160 feed with world famous Toad Harbor balanced Feedline ☺️
Mike, after seeing this video I decided to inventory my antennas. Here it is: One 20M, one 40M & two 10M MFJ Ham Sticks + the mount to use them as a dipole MFJ 1979 Homemade spikes Huskey light tripod (used as portable mount) Moonraker SPX100 QRPGuys DS1 40m -10m Bajei QRP portable (from eBay, also sold under other names) 9:1; LDG & QRPGuys 49:1; LDG & QRPGuys 64:1 Spark Plug antenna, both 100W & 50W Wolf River Coils TIA + Silver Bullet Mini + Sporty Forty + 213” whip + the Spike Radiowaze G5RV Jr. (home station antenna) Three Signal Sticks Diamond SRH999 . . 2M, 70CM & 23CM Comet dual band mag mount All kinds of pre-cut lengths of wire to use as radiators, counterpoises and radials + spools of wire. Aluminum window screen to use as a ground plane. I don’t think I missed anything
First, Mike. We all are here because we love you. We are all here for your intervention. You must now use each of the good antennas you have on different POTAS. Number the good antennas and roll a D20.📡🏴☠
Hi, Mike. I have several of the antennas that you show here. Right now I'm having great success hunting POTA parks using the MFJ-1699T on a 5" mag mount on the roof of my truck. It's connected to an ICOM IC-706MKIIG that I picked up from ebay. Using a Nanovna I tuned it virtually flat from 14.150 to 14.350 MHz at 1.67 SWR and I let my LDG Z-100 PLUS handle the match. Once the school year ends (I'm a school bus driver 😂) I'll be activating some parks. Nice collection, BTW! IMHO if you really love your hobby you can never have too much STUFF!! Best, Marc (N1QGM)
Crikey Mike.......it makes me feel so much better about my antenna collection now. Most of which are in boxes too. I'm always looking for or building something better. Brilliant!!! BTW Love the channel😃
I myself will be trying out multiple antenna systems to see which one works best for me. I have ordered an MFJ-1625, MFJ-1936TWC, and a MyAntennas 80/40/20/15/10 EFHW. I already have a few Hustler resonators and a Chameleon F-Loop.
Dagum dude! I didnt realize I had sent you so many antannas! I actually was going to throw a few or so together and send them your way. I thought you could get rid of them for me. Keep an eye out for a box full in the near future
I have a QRP guys antenna I use cheap Walmart speaker wire and cut for 20m it works well on 20m40m and part of 10m. I use an MFJ QRP pocket tuner for other bands . no problems with it. I live in an apartment that is 70 +/- years old . The wiring is old and causes noise on my rig . Haven't take it out to a park yet
I don't see any problem here at all lol I only have my Buddistick pro, which works really well for my use case. Hopefully we'll find a house soon and I can start my own antenna collection. 73's
If you do have problems it doesn't need a rubber room lol. I have a few less antennas then you cause I get what I use. I've got the mfj g5rv junior dipole above gp-15 tribander on the house, a mobile and then a ht antenna. My suggestion would be to ham those antenna harder and give them away to new hams.
I have 3 antennas right now. A random wire efhw with a 9:1, 6m dipole, and a 10m dipole. Would want more, but I can't afford more stuff to make them all.
@@hamradiotube Was watching this hoping for the same thing, if you kept notes of high & low swr for each band on each antenna that would make an awesome spreadsheet.
“Hi, My name is Mike and I’m addicted to Ham Radio Antennas” 🤔🤔Hmmm I think I need to pull up a seat next to you at the next “AA” Meeting (Antennas Anonymous)! 😂😂
"For when I never work satellites..." 😂 Now I know that my "problem" is not nearly as bad as I feared it may be... 😂 64:1 is WAY better than 49:1 for EFHW...from my experience, and the 100watt Sparkplug is my go-to for HF in the RV. BUT...what kind of antenna nut doesn't have AT LEAST one doublet in the home station?!?!?! I even have a doublet for the RV! Last comment...you have too many DX Commanders...!!! You should sent one my way...and if you do, I bet you will receive a KC1DBR custom all band linear loaded doublet...
Wow Mike. Nice. Nah. You don't have a problem. I have a lot of antennas also but mine just got worse. Chris of Buddipole sent me the e-mail. My name came up in the Buddihex lottery so I am getting a BuddiHex. But I have decided that adding to my radio collection has got to stop. I really want that FX-CR that Jason was showing but I need to take a break from the radio obsession also.
Lol funny stuff. I also enjoy antennas and antenna science, new to the hobby but jumped in with both feet! Enjoy your channel and have learned a lot from watching them 73
Wow great work Mike. 60 and I bet their are more somewhere 😊. I have build 6 HF antennas and my XYL thinks I have a problem. 😂 Great work man Motters M7TRS 73 8
Hi Mike, rest easy, you DO NOT have a problem! It is obvious that you are just seeking perfection, something we should all do. This search is good for the hobby, without you, antenna makers would be out of business, so you are performing a vital service to the Ham community, although I am not sure what your bank manager would have to say about it! Be thankful for being single, a wife would go nuts at your collection, so there is a lot to be said for having a Satan in your life! Keep up ther search, 73 Jim M7BXT
Mike, Wow! Ever heard of QRZ or QTH Swapmeet/Classified Ads? I know you have! Sell some of that stuff. It could pay your rent for a year!, HA! I have 3 Tenntennas EFHW, 1 Par EFHW, Palomar Eng. OCF, 2) WRC, & a slew of 2M/440 Whips. And I thought I had a problem!
for me i just have about 10 of them shark antennas ham sticks 10 20 and 40 meters a GRA 1899 antenna nealson antenna's end fed random wire 2 of them tram 2 meter 70 centimeter antenna 2 rubber duck for 2 of my HT's a signal stuff signal stick for another HT an arrow yagi to work the satellites and a moonraker GPA-80 vertical but thinking of selling the GPA-80 and get the DX commander classic where i am getting poor results with the antenna can hear close signals fine around my QTH area but far out can't hear at all and poor results on FT8 going to try 1 solution but if that doesn't work swap for a DX commander classic
I haven't found any counselling for this type of addiction however...Ss... when's the garage sale happening? 🤣 Or sell it all off and you'll have the money for a DXpedition...
ok you have me beat LOL, I only have about 10 to maybe 12 and one is the chamelian MPAS-2 all the rest are home brew that I built end feds from the 4 to 1, 5 to 1, 9 to 1, 49 to 1 and the last a 64 to 1. I do like building then like you and I have a hankering for the DXcommander in the future, 73 Vic de KE8JWE,
Well, I don't have 60 antennas but I've gone threw at least that many. I currently have 15 or 20 assorted antennas of one type or another. I've given away at least twice that amount. Not to mention all the ones I've built for other people. DE WB7VEQ
As a member of A.A. (Antennas Anonymous), I suggest their 2 step program. 1. Admit you have a problem 2. Buy another antenna.
This is the right attitude!
I don't have a problem. But I'll buy another antenna anyway.

😂😮😅 Yes that's the beginning of a great hobby 😇
Ah, another fellow MFJ-1979 collector, i have 4 now. So versatile.

Multiple antenna acquisition syndrome...it's a good thing.

@K8MRDRADIOSTUFF5 Thank you.

Would want more, but I can't afford more stuff to make them all.
Would be great if you had a) an index to your antenna reviews and b) a list of your preferred antenna by type, i.e. best EFHW, OCFD, etc.
I think this video would be the index. Favorite antennas is easy. PackTenna and DX Commander. done.
@@hamradiotube Was watching this hoping for the same thing, if you kept notes of high & low swr for each band on each antenna that would make an awesome spreadsheet.
I'm thinking a 30K subscribers giveaway stream Mike...I suppose you could part with a few of those things😉

You're a beast, Mike! If you can't fit it all back in the box, you know, you could help a channel out... 😂
David Gilmour fan? Great tone from a strat!
10 step program comes to mind 😊 !
I love the kazoo music as the video faded out. More cowbell? Hardly. Need more kazoos!
@K8MRDRADIOSTUFF5 Cool thanks!
Next, on Hoarders....
Hi Mike what is the fold out case you had the Paktennas in?

Nice collection!
Great info friend.
Mike, I'll send you one of my EFHW systems. It's like nothing you have!
I think ya have a few spare antennas there Mike,I want to get 2 EFHW antennas for QRP but unfortunatly I cant afford any due to the AUS to USD price
Mike,
Wow!

I like the way you're thinking
it seems most of these are out of stock on their websites . Guess the oh DIY is the best way to go at the moment.
Wow dude you have the antennas! 😂
You haven't built the Ryan-Tenna yet?! Sheesh.
I've been looking for the OFC Vertical Dipole from Radiowavs. Is it out on the market? I have not seen it on their website.
I'm not sure. At Dayton they said they were going to put it on their website "next week" yet here we are a month later...
Mike, If you want to give away a 80 through 10 meter EFHW I will take one to test for my RV location
me thinks it is time for some "Antenna Gave-a-ways"
what are you, crazy? I need these.
You only have a problem if you forget to bring an antenna to the Park! Then you’ve got a problem.
That's not a problem, it's a solution.
I don’t think I have as many, but I’m afraid to count!
only have 3 home .. 1 uhf 1 43ft vert and 80m diapole ... .potable/mobile... 1 mag mount moble 1 wrc sbplat and 4 hamestick ..

Mike, what about the Slinktenna??
Oh crap, that's around here somewhere too. Make it 61!
better than collecting HTs
And my flatmates complain about all the antennas I have! Geez
Heh. You said Frank's Beans.
They only count if they are deployed, anything else is just spare parts 😁
I hear there’s a 12-step program for this. Hi. My name is Dave and I’m antenna-maniac.
Somebody needs an intervention! LOL
What are your top ten?
OK! But how many radios do you have? ;)
Please remember the first step to salvation is admitting you have a problem!
The only problem anyone has is not having enough room for more antennas
When I find the perfect antenna, I'll stop buying and building them.
Exactly1
I've got a lot of antennas, but not as many as you.
He who dies with the most Antennas wins!
Time for a shack sale lol.
No way!
Want to do a give away lol
You look like you could use a mag loop. lol
I think you do have a problem. Soon there won't be any new antenna's out there for you to get... 🤣
You might be suffering from an antenna fetish, and yes the first step to a cure is admitting the problem.
Hey Mike Question 😆 Keep up the good work awesome topic 👏 De KU4Y JOE.
Dude..... you SERIOUSLY have a problem!! You need enough radios to make use of all those antennas.
How is this a problem? You wouldn't tell someone to not diversify their portfolio. Just think about all the copper you're investing in!
The first step on the road to recovery is admitting that you have a problem...
Antenna problem?............................ It depends.
Well you officially have 57 more antennas than I have! I need to step it up! 73’s de KB9HUO
If you melted down all the copper you would have enough money to retire
I can imagine your family is glad you don't collect guns
You’re you tube messenger is getting hacked!
