The screaming and yellow eyes was one of the plot points in story mode. The characters were overtaken my a magical rage, which was the justification for the “good guys” turning on each other :)

Fun fact: If you remember, in mortal kombat 9, shang sung had a fatality where he was a clown. That fatality was a reference to the joker's first fatality.

Actually on top of that, this showcase was an expanded version, because you're not supposed to see the shot landing
The yellow eyes and screaming before the fatalities happen because in the story, there's a cosmic "rage" force that makes the characters irrationally angry and attack even allies. I believe they used it in fatalities per DC's or Warner Bros' request to make the characters look less cold-blooded when killing.

I do not know if this was mentioned before, because this was a collaboration between MK and DC, the violence we're used to seeing from MK had to be toned down and certain fatalities from this game were censored, such as the Joker's "Bang", which tilted the camera away from the character getting shot in the head. If you can recall your reactions from MK9 fatalities, Shang Tsung's first was morphing into a clown performing the same fatality that was censored from that game. Sort of a "lets do it right" statement from the devs.
Wonder if they would ever remaster this game with new fatalities ☺️🤔🤩
I haven't watched it yet, but I seriously hope you have your expectations really low. This was the first MK has ever been rated T. No gore since the DC license was involved. Also the first MK had a proper story with cinematics. Also they scream because they're filled with rage. Also MKvsDC is canon. Argus is the God of Edenia. He has 3 heirs, Daegon, Taven, and (his bastard son) Rain. Joker's first fatality is actually censored, they zoom in on Joker and doesn't show the opponent being shot. Captain Marvel had to change to Shazam after Marvel Comics copyrighted the name "Marvel"

Their mother, Delia is a mortal sorceress. While Rain was the son Argus kept secret who came from an affair with a Amara, also mortal but with no status. Rain is very arrogant and wants nothing but worship since he's a Demigod and has no acknowledgement that he's Argus's son.

shazam was the first character to be called captain marvel while the wizard who gave him his powers name was shazam,he was owned by fawcett comics before eventually being bought by dc comics.
after he was bought by dc they kept the name captain marvel for some time until the 2000s where they decided to change his name to shazam to avoid confusion with the marvel character "captain marvel" whether it was mar-vell or carol danvers.

The big pyramid is the plot of MK Armageddon. The "Deadly Alliance" between Lex and Quan Chi was the title of the first MK game on PS2 where Quan Chi and Shang Tsung teamed up to kill Liu Kang. Wonder Women's shield was the logo of Deadly Alliance, and the sword she had is some magic sword belonging to Astrah who's playable in Deception/Armageddon. I forget exactly how it works cause Astrah was kind of meh, but I think the sword is more effective against demons and evil being, and when killing evil beings purifys the wielder. So Astrah was this holy cleric looking women in all white, but she was actually a demon the sword purified.

Argus is rain’s father and the ruler of Edina and after making Rain’s mother think that rain was dead she died from grief and Rain confronted and killed him.

When I was little this was the game that got me into Mortal Kombat. Also this is sort of the prequel game to the Injustice universe since there are alot of references in the inj 2 and mk11 that make this cannon even though lex is bad.
While old skool MK players probably hated it, I bet this game ushered in a whole new wave of players for the franchise so it was kinda smart on their part 🤑

This game was definitely the black sheep between MK and injustice. And if I’m being honest the fatalities and heroic brutalities are…..pretty lame to say the least all I can do is laugh.

DC and Marvel both had a Captain Marvel and they fought for the name for a long time. DC changed his name to Shazam.
Additionally, Netherrealm liked the Jokers Gun-Fatality so much, it became Shang Tsungs Fatality in the next Mortal Kombat.

The MK that came before this one, Armageddon, doesn't have individual fatalities. The characters have generic finishers and they're basically all the same to every character, because the game had over 50 characters and it would be too much work.
I don't think there's a way for you guys to react to that one, but you should DEFINITELY react to Armageddon's opening cinematic. And if you do Deception's fatalities and hara-kiris and Deadly Alliance, please react to their openings as well. That's something the older MK games had that I wish the new ones went back to doing, really elaborate cinematic openings. I love love love you guys' reactions!

Yes, because super heroes were involved, and I think DC didn't want blood and fatalities, the watered down versions of these fatalities is what we had.
If I remember correctly, when their eyes would glow and they'd scream, it was rage taking over their bodies, as it did throughout the storyline within this game. Don't quote me on that, I haven't played this game in about 10ish years xD

If I may, I'd request watching a fellow UA-camr's video, "The History of Mortal Kombat (Full Movie).
It's about 2 or 3 videos combined, and the content creator, 616 Entertainment, goes over every game in good detail, explaining the characters and the lore. Extremely informative. One of the videos worth watching until the very end.
It's about 2 hours and 36 minutes long.
I know you guys probably get a crap load of requests, but the info in that video is very informative, and it goes over games many people never heard of in the MK franchise.

I only highly recommend this video because the presenter covers the entire lore and even talks about the secrets that were so prevalent in the earlier games, and how they come full circle in games up to decades later.

Scorpion's and deathstroke's fatalities are the only ones where both are satisfying (to me at least). And green lantern crushing someone in that orb is in no way a heroic brutality, that's a straight up fatality.

About time you got to MKvsDC, this came before Injustice, and actually sets up the story of both those games, as I recall. Not nearly as brutal and violent because of the DC characters, plus it was their first attempt at a more refined, cinematic story mode, which has now become the norm for MK. Still a fun game, and, as always your reaction was fun to watch. Keep being awesome! And yeah, the character now known as Shazam was originally called Captain Marvel until Marvel sued, plus most people erroneously called him Shazam anyways, assuming that was his name. Well, now it is!😁
We enjoyed the Shazam movie actually and hope Black Adam is just as fun. But the Rocks movies are so hit or miss with mostly miss. 🤗

Idk if someone made a comment about the eyes is called “Rage.” When the two universes combined everyone endured a rage like state where Dark Kahn (Shao Kahn and Dark Side combined) basically controlled their “rage” and make them fight against each other including their own teammates from each side like batman vs Superman and Radian vs Lui Kang for example

In MK vs DC, the characters were consumed by a force known as "The Rage". This made their eyes glow yellow and caused an imbalance between strength levels. It was grinding the two universes together into the same space, which would eventually destroy both of them if the big bad evil guy wasn't stopped.

FYI: Captain Marvel is his title, "Shazam" is the name of the wizard who created the Captain Marvel power and what the host of the Captain Marvel power has to shout to transform into him. Over time, the fact that he says "Shazam" became the most iconic thing about him to the point that people just started calling him Shazam. After trying to correct people for years, DC finally threw their hands up and started naming modern interpretations of Captain Marvel Shazam instead.

Although the game has ups and downs, well mostly lows, it is a guilty pleasure that I have, happily they made justice to both parties (Mortal Kombat and DC comics) in their respective current fighting sagas (Injustice and current Mortal Kombat)

This game became a Black Sheep of the Mortal Kombat games before Midway(the OG Mortal Kombat developers from the 90s who made the classics) got bankrupt. Luckily Ed Boon the creator of Mortal Kombat founded Netherrealm Studios and then made a come back revival to make Mortal Kombat 9, arguably one of THE best Mortal Kombat games of all time, along with Mortal Kombat Trilogy that is.

Also Fun Fact, the classic games Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3, all of the characters were actually made through motion capture, you can easily find a rare footage in UA-cam that there is the Behind the scenes of the classic mortal kombat motion capture.
I would love to see a MK vs DC 2 but it’s actually M Rated and a continuation of the first game, it can still have the heroic brutalities, but maybe a fatality for the DC heroes

People tend to crap on this game but me and my girlfriend (back then) liked to play it against each other on PS2.
It didn’t have the essential blood and gore of a Mortal Kombat game but others have said it was fun to play still and got them into Mortal Kombat ☺️

I'm so shocked they actually allowed Super heroes to be killed lol. I remember being mad that the violence was toned down, but I forgot they still had fatalities.

It’s pretty cool for Batman to create the OMAC system (which he basically programs such giant robots to do work for him), in fact he had also created a big mecha looking armor called the “Justice Buster”, and also go try reacting a fun video of Hulkbuster Iron Man vs Justice Buster suit by Variant Comics, it’s very fun, mind you!!!
Justice Buster is the better name for sure. Would totally have that be my super hero name as soon as I get those powers 😂

You should react to mortal Kombat combos next there many suggestions for that you won't regret it
MK vs DC is a cool idea, and I think it was kind of the prototype for the story modes that would give so much life to MK9-11 and Injustice 1 and 2. In execution, it wasn't the greatest thing I've ever seen but was certainly fun enough if it didn't have the later titles to compare it to lol. Very tamed-down for an MK game, but it makes sense. MK9+ are much better Mortal Kombat games, and Injustice are much better DC games...but we have this to thank for us getting all of that so it holds some value in my heart.
Plus the concept of Shao Kahn mixed with Darkseid is just shiver-inducing lol.
In response to what you guys were talking about with Kano in the movie vs Kano in the games, that was one of the reasons I was EVER so slightly disappointed in him in the movie. Not that he wasn't a great character and a lot of fun (possibly the best part of the movie, honestly), but at times he barely felt like Kano. Having grown up with GAME edition Kano, seeing him working alongside the heroes and becoming a "chosen one" of sorts was really...odd. He's only ever been a snake-y dirtbag to my experience lol! It was still a lot of fun to see this different version though. :)
But at least in the end Kano went back to his roots. 😁

The yellow eyes is a part of the story. Joker comes in to the mortal kombat universe and infects them all with rage. So the yellow eyes is the infection taking over them.

Hey guys, this is totally random, but the narrator reminded me of Fallout, in Fallout New Vegas they play these intro segments for the DLC, and they're real cool to just see as you start up a new part of the game. Just as well there are final cutscenes that tell you a conclusion to everyone's story based on your decisions in the normal game and DLC, the games quite old but the story still holds quite a bit of weight, I would love to see a reaction if you can figure it out. The dlc for New Vegas are Honest Hearts, Old War Blues, Sierra Madre, and finally, The Divide.
Fallout is a franchise we plan on checking out in future for sure 😅

You should react to Mortal Kombat Trilogy fatalities. They are more arcade like, but pretty enjoyable too

There's a really underated heisting game called Payday 2 which have a lot of really cool trailers, soundtracks and even a whole live-action web series. Despite the fact that the game is near 8 years old, the community surprisingly is still thriving with loads of new in-game content
As a Payday 2 fan, I sincerely hope you guys will check them out. The trailers and web series are so good that i'm mad that it's not a movie or a TV show. I can't recommend them enough

I enjoy playing this game at my cousin’s house and most of the fans complain about the game not being violent which I understand why because there’s not enough blood and the fatalities are not as violent as the other MK games. The game Dark Kahn control the MK characters and DC characters by his rage power.

If there is a sequel they should really connect the endings. For example Batman finds a breach in Metropolis and is the deadly alliance of Lex Luthor and Quan Chi as Lex Luthor stole data from Special Forces and Quan Chi used flash
