Always good stuff.
Thank You for actually giving a correct description of Depth of Field and showing one aspect of what controls it. So many content creators have misconceptions and share downright inaccurate ideas about how to control it. If you hear someone talking about DoF as “good” or “bad” - run. DoF is either deep or shallow. The only “good” DoF is the DoF that matches the story you are trying to tell.
Thanks Again!
Thanks for watching!
Ah finally dof with a an actual person! It does make a natural dof just need to be a bit close but it works!
It’s an interesting test. My conclusion is that you virtually have no shallow depth of field with smartphone which is noteworthy. Except the artificial digital one, which is ok, but needs to get better. No comparision with my ZV-E10 and Sigma 1.4 aperture lens. And full frame cameras are on a different planet 😂
If the object is close, you can get some like the sunglasses example. But of course, nowhere near full frame otherwise.
hii ! why did people stop using DOF adapters and dslr lenses on iphone did that trend die or something ? i always found it really exciting
I get much more bokeh using a Sirui 400mm lens on the 1X lens? Works really well!
I imagine so! That’s a long telephoto lens.
it's barely noticeable and not worth the hassle
I like a little deeper shallow depth of field
Try portrait lens and screen records
Hey Blake, have you tried any other lenses to get the DOF increase? I was aiming at the anamorphic from Smallrig to match the cage I'm getting.
The main ones that work/help are the telephoto. You can also use diopters. The anamorphic is so wide you typically won’t see much shallow DOF unless you’re close to the subject.
@@iphoneographers thanks, i'll be sure to try. Any diopter attachment kit you recommand?
You should make videos on how to use cinema p3
I’ve got this overview here… ua-cam.com/video/jJ9B89LF99g/v-deo.html and a log comparison here ua-cam.com/video/ILJ6YY1d3IU/v-deo.html. And I do plan to do more on that app.
While shooting Hormozi style outside on a sunny day, With iPhone native cinematic mode, would an ND filter make difference? Or would you recommend just lowering the exposure with the slider ?
Always recommend using ND when shooting outside in sunlight.
@@iphoneographers now I’m ready to move forward with my set up. LiteChaser case for iPhone 14 pro, with Moondog Labs Multi Filter mount 52 mm
with a step up ring 52 to 72mm and for my filter, the K & F Concept 72mm Variable ND2-32 & CPL. Thanks to your content, I learned that this is possible .
What equipment did you use to make this video? Thanks!
All the gear used is mentioned in the description. Thanks for watching!
Yes there DOF but not much. I wish to get little more DOF with this setup
Yeah just experiment by moving a bit closer. It can look surprisingly shallow if you prefer that look.
Not very much bokeh with any of those lenses i'm afraid my friend.
Yeah, if you’re closer you can get some pretty nice bokeh. The sunglasses shot shows an example of that.
Why do you guys even use iPhones when we gave samsung phones with 10x Zoom, which would destroy that iPhone with shallow depth of field
Just like the iPhone ecosystem better. But now especially - Apple Log.
You should spend less money on tech and more money on furniture and clothing.
