Just finished reviewing it. It is amazing how a freeware can include features from both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, this is just wow!

This looks promising.
Small critique on the video: I feel like it was a bit too fast for it's own good.
I had to pause multiple times to read the features and I consider myself a decently fast reader.
Maybe leave them on for just a few seconds longer to not interrupt the flow of the showcase.

I have been working in the media for over 25 years now professionally and finally there is a software that is better than Adobe Photoshop, illustrator and Animate. Yes, the font system is not great but everything else is great!
Things to improve on next version!
1. Main pointers not to be pixelated.
2. Automatic live updates fonts when changing them
3. Make automatic the transform layer on the timeline. It does not make sense to create a transform layer to animate x,x,z. Less is more. So when you started animating the x,y,z is there on any layer.
4. Has it - Story board mode, so you can create quick story board... great to have with unions like a flip book.
5. Left handed pop out color palettes 🎨 or customized to any location the icons.
6. Audio on the timeline with waveform.
7. Several Rotation of the canvas into memory o. the color pop out and shortcuts.
8. UV editing
I could go on… but hey! Krita 5 is better now than many adobe products. Great job!

Great update, but the video is wayyyy too fast.
Maybe with this one you could add 3D base model support or something, like clip studio paint and more comic stuff for webcomcs

I love the update, but there are few CTDs to iron out. Krita 5.0 crashes in weird places, like working with custom stamps. Otherwise the release has been great and I hope these occasional crashes are something will get cleared soon enough.

I have been testing 5.0.2 and so far working with custom stamps haven't caused CTDs. I guess the brush tip fix included to update sorted that problem.
I will file a bug report, if I experience CTDs with current release. I am a member of artist site and it has been very helpful.

I absolutely love the new version of Krita! I'm very happy that the new Resource Management is now a reality : )
I want to ask something about the interface. It's not super important, but is there a way to make the subwindow titlebars look like OS native titlebars or like the new detached docker titlebars?
The new detached docker titlebars are absolutely lovely and blend very well with the UI, unlike the subwindow ones.

This is really good, i wanted a pc software for drawing along with procreate and one feature i really wanted with krita 4 that procreate had was the timelapse feature, thank you guys for your hard work

The only problem I'm having so far is that transforming pictures is very laggy. Everything else seems to be smooth. :)
change the type of transform from "accurated" to "fast" it looks almost the same and it has 0 lag :)

The rgba ones look neat too, although last I tested they were kinda crude feeling. Maybe more brushes will be made yet.

@@DG72149 Normally you should just mouse over the drop frames button and statistics (including framerate) should show up as a tooltip. However, in 5.0 the statistics currently aren't showing. We've filed a bug for this and will make sure this feature returns in 5.1 //RM
@@KritaOrgPainting No that's fine. I found it a couple of days later. but it would be helpful to have a tutorial/instructions for 5.1 if things are moved again.

Just a huge "thank you" for what you're doing!. Though there are still a few bugs, it's a full-potential app for artists and hand-drawn animators. Thank you!
It would be great if we have a future version for drawing on iPad or Android tablets, so the workflow will be more convenient, as now most of artists have one tablet for drawing.
Krita is already available in Android platform for TABLETS. and about ipad... That deppends on Apple. Krita is open to be in any platform and help much more people //RM

Once Krita gets smartphone UI support it will be the king of all apps. It's one of the few on android that can open PSD files.

Very cool video, and I love see how Krita community and programm itself are growing up!!
At first I didn't like it.
But after giving it a try I can say it's there. The only thing bothering me is the transform tools that are a bit laggy and how long it takes to open the files. Apart from that, the brushes are excellent; even better than photoshop, the brush performance is excellent, really great job from the krita team.
When you are transforming, you can go to the tool options docker and activate the "FAST" mode. it improves the performance. Is not so accurate while you are transforming but hey! everybody can use it. //RM

This is great!! also, hopefully, the audio problems can be fixed too lol. My audio is glitchy and i wish there was a scrubber so i could lip sync better but otherwise i love this software!
been using krita 5 for a month now. plenty things for me to learn. coloring here is amazing. audio scrubbing is non existence. rendering with alpha key is impossible. but still, overall it's been a quite fun experience I give you that
