Such a great musician. I'll never forget coming up to 3 years ago, I was walking down St Ann Street approaching St Anns Square in Manchester with my 2 year old daughter and we could hear what turned out to be your singing in the distance.
At that time I was in such a low spot because I'd given up an established well paying career to fulfil a lifelong ambition of becoming a bobby and I had just come to the realisation that I'd made a huge mistake. It wasn't for me and I wanted out. I'd made huge sacrifices for the privilege of getting the job too. It felt like I'd ruined my career in my late 30s. That day I'd even been into the Cathedral and asked God what the heck I should do with my life now. I'm not even religious. I felt so browbeaten and low.
As we approached St Anns Square the music got louder and louder, echoing down the Square, bouncing off the church at the end. It was beautiful. I continued onto St Anns Square and saw that it was you singing and it was incredible. It felt like a breath of fresh air in a truly miserable day. We stopped and listened for a while. My daughter dropped a flower and some change in "the singing lady's" guitar case and we carried on. It really made the day. She mentioned you several times once we'd got home.
Since then whenever you upload, it always takes me back to that day where you were like a glimmer of beaming light in a black cave.

I remember your daughter putting a flower in my case, it was adorable and absolutely made my day, I had no idea you were in such a rough spot there because often when people are low they have a tendency to start pulling other people down with them. Instead what you chose to do at that time was to shine a light for me too - busking is a hard and sometimes thankless job and small joys like someone taking the time to stop and listen or getting a flower from a little girl are what makes someone like me feel that what they are doing is worth it. It helps us carry on.
