To make it short: up to 100W it's ok but then the distortion kicks in.
You verified that the board worked, but you did not test it to any standard. Claimed power can only be measured by driving to clipping w/ rated power supply and measuring against a linear load (speakers are non-linear).
But u gotta admit. U will use it for speakers so by practical means its fine
very simple standard, generally used to work out power consumption. lol amps x watts its called ohms law....
you need volts -- amps to get watts he had 42.oo volts with 10.05 amps= 420 watts not closes to the 600 watts.. he should have given us the ohms of the driver plus the volts and amps of currant for the real wattage from the amp, the higher the ohms, lower the watts from the amp, lower ohms ='s higher wattage

However, in addition to needing a properly sized power supply, you also need to be able to drive it to clipping and measure the clipping point to make sure that the amp can deliver it's rated power. Just because and amp can produce 600 watts output, doesn't mean it can do so w/o clipping at that level. Proper power ratings of amps are specified below the clipping point with specified distortion amounts.
@@revolution5547 That is not how power ratings are specified. And even if you do use speakers, you still need to measure clipping / distortion to get an approximation of the specified power rating. So the evaluation is not fine. If the test is simply "
Does it work?" then fine. If the test is "Does it produce it's rated power?" then the evaluation is not fine.
Why there is no 6 channel board manufactured using this Texas Instruments chip. It is a 4 channel chip with 145 W per channel. Using two TAS5630B chip 6 channel outputs 4 x 145w (front and surround) and 2 x 300w (centre and sub-woofer) could be generated for home audio usage.
I would also like to add that im far too lazy to make such an informative video. I thank you very much for your otherwise excellent effort.
You need an oscilloscope and load resistors to measure output power.. I was so curious to see what it does 😔
err no there are many ways to measure it, input power minus thermal loss for example. Or even convert output to thermal via an element and measure thermal output.

2:55 seeing the audio input plug move around on the PCB is not very encouraging. Hopefully it's just the gaps between the injection molded plastic and the metal parts so that the metal tabs that matter are well soldered to the board and only the plastic shell is moving

I have a Marantz SR8002 that has 7 channel preamp inputs and the ones you need, preamp outputs. It does 125 watts at .01THD per channel into 8 ohms. Make no mistake it is a beast lighting up an indoor basketball court auditorium using only 4 of the channels. (and 2 300w powered subs)

You take about $4000 and go to the www.musiciansfriend.com website, and buy 4 live performance amplifiers, (Gemeni-500 or QSC, or Crown, you can also get Peavey, Yamaha and others. The Gemini seem to be the biggest bang for the buck rolling in at $220 each. You could get three amps and powered subs (2), or 4 amps and use passive subs(2) driving them with the fourth amp.
I got 7 Kustom E-Force EV12L rated at 450W continuous each. I would like to some day retro fit Electro Voice EV12L Black edition (rated 300W continuous) into those enclosures.

600 watts / 12v = 50Amps. That's a shit load of amps for a 12v adapter. You'd need a computer PSU that can supply that amount over a 12v rail.
Not a diy, it'a ready to use audio amp, just a few connections also not a 600w rms you did not even demo a music it was just a freq. test not enough to claim 600w needs to hear it to believe it, test it outdoor with 15" subwoofer 500w

Its close. But if you do the math you will see that that is max 480 watts. Depends if you are going to turn up your system to use 80 watts per channel or what?

I'm still skeptic about the true power of that Class D, 600wrms ? it should power up a huge outdoor concert so I wanna see a video using that class D on outdoor event for real to play as loud as it can, and compare it to a 600wrms - BJT power amp
I'm not that skeptical as if you ever watch big d wiz test car Amps (btw there the same thing both class D) and I've seen crazy power from really small amps. Today's technology is crazy

mattyttv no, you’d need a 1200 watt power supply for that, it would still run them just not at full power. They would need at least 600 watts each (600x2= 1200)

@@dariencharlton4773 A class D amplifier will have a low-pass filter anyway on many designs. Often 20k but can be lower if only for a subwoofer

How about, cheapest amplifier for a 500RMS/1000Peak 1ohm subwoofer? The only amps I can find that can do 1ohm are for car audio.

Just because my mobile phone Audio output is not that much
more like 50 watts rms clean at best. These cheapo china amps are beyond shit and disingenuous with their power ratings. Its literally peak clipped to hell power before the amp blows at a low ohm load. Not real stable usable power aka RMS in the 4 to 8 ohm range. Doesnt matter what power supply you have, its not going to make anywhere close to half its ratings.

Because a '600watt amp' is what his "presentation" was for/about.
So as expected he showed us a 600watt amplifier. Which is made for, OR the manufacturers "intention" for it, is to power a sub or even a pair of subwoofer.
With the byproduct (so to speak) of those things coming together being 'BASS'
So of course his subscribers and viewers are going to ask for him to "hook it up" and want to hear it "bump" And that's exactly as he did. (Rightly so!)
So in closing he did the right thing for the product he was reviewing. I didn't mean to be rude by asking what you thought you watched. I was actually curious, genuinely.
Because as I stated he did exactly as any viewer should have reasonably and rationally expected when clicking on such a video.
So common sense says his "presentation" (as you called it) was SPOT ON.
