Hi again! I'm fairly new to getting into DCC, but a long time collector of LGB, Bachmann G and other G scale trains, track and accessories. We are trying to do a special project and want to be able to run several trains at the same time, but prefer wireless and DCC sound and control of trains and switches....and also be able to control sound features via that DCC system. I know there sometimes limitations of the motor decoders as far as the speed steps, from the older MTS or mixing some LGB or other brand central stations, like lower limited Piko or massoth central stations. I would like to have as many speed steps and controls as possible like the Massoth 1210Z central station offers, but might settle for less, if price and cost is factored in to the equation...I can live with a little less, but don't want to be terribly crippled with less control features. That said I have many questions so please bare with me, as I am trying to learn the system and DCC compatibility as a whole. Does Lenz have something similar to the Massoth or Piko Navigator? Or can the Dimax Massoth./Piko Navigators be used wireless with the LVZ100 Digital Plus version 3.5 central station/booster? can an LGB wireless 55056 model be used with the Lenz LVZ100 in order to use the Massoth and Piko Navigators wireless? Are all the Massoth emotion XL, XLS emotion or other manufacturers decoders compatible with LVZ100 and also be used with Phoenix DCC sound decoders as well as Soundtraxx tsunami sound decoders or other motor decoders? Is the LZ100 limited in comparison to the Dimax Massoth 1210Z central station or is LZV100 digital Plus 3.5 or 3.6 a good lower cost replacement? I am considering using my Mean Well SP-350-24 switing power supply with a LZV100, will that be a good match, consider it is 24 volts, 13 to 14 amps and 350 watts switching power supply? Are there any limitations that the LVZ100 central station/booster has compared to the Massoth or Piko Central Stations? Is the Lenz LVZ100 compatible with all LGB MTS decoders and sound locos? I really do appreciate all your help and can't say this enough.
BAMBAM5476 Hi, I will definitely watch the video, but could really use immediate answers to my questions, as I am considering buying a Lenz system today or tomorrow.
Karamelia Mitchell hello Lenz is a good German company that is over 25 years old and also the DCC protocol is a standard so all DCC products will work . Bud the company's are aloud to make extras this has to do with CV values with Lenz you can read and program all CV's
Does Lenz make the Massoth brand? Can you give me the decoders part numbers and the Digital sound decoders part numbers and their functions? What is intellisound and what is expressnet? What is the best bang for the buck decoders for say LGB Moguls and also what are the best sound decoders with programmable sounds?
Is Lenz better than Massoth when converting al lMy LGB and Bachmann Spectrum G scale trains to DCC control and sound decoders? What is the best bang for the buck? I want to have sound decoders that are comparable to Phoenix sound boards or Massoth. I know there are some Massoth decoders that have the combined dcc control decoder for the motor built into the sound decoder. What is your suggestion or best bang for the buck when converting to DCC and wanting to use the system outside here in California USA?
Karamelia Mitchell I have the Lenz system for about 20 years and I like it for its user interface and the lenz set is cheaper then Massoth.Lenz will work with Massoth and Massoth will work with Lenz . It is just what do yo want and how much you want to spend You can visit some other DCC railroaders how have Lenz Massoth or an other system and and see how you like the user interface. al the best Ynze aka Bambam
Thanks BamBam, Very cool.
