    We are getting all the rain you have been getting. It is getting old, but I do love how everything is so green! Radishes look good. I am on my third planting. I ate all the first planting and the second planting bolted. Lots of greenery, but no radishes! Hence, the third planting. I will keep it up until hot weather sets in.

      Radishes look good....I meant your radishes! Keep us posted on your garden.

      Ansel,
      The temps have been really cool here, which is unusual for mid-may. I have to wear a jacket in the mornings while walking the pooches. But it's really been helping the radishes. I can't wait to taste them, but right now they're still fairly small. Another week or so and they should be good to go...down the hatch, that it.😊
      Regards,
      John

    John, you're an inspiration. I certainly appreciate all your advice, even for the tomato plants.

      Thanks, my friend. I went to your channel and eyeballed your '62. It looks great. The color is very cool indeed. Before buying my '66 I had a chance to grab up two '62 Birds. It was a package deal for $3800.00, or something like that. I almost bit, but thought better of it as the pair would have required far more body and engine work than I cared to do.
      Thanks for popping in.
      Regards,
      John

    You must have jinxed me with your internet ISP talk a couple of weeks ago. Someone cut a tree down up the road last week and of course it fell across the phone line and knocked the internet and phone out. Phone was back the next day but in the interim the modem/router fried and it took till today to get another one :) Glad you were able to get those bolts sorted out. Take care, Gary P.S. We're getting the same rain, just not as heavy here. Just enough to keep from being able to mow when I want to, lol.

      Glad you're liking the series. It's what keeps me going...what keeps all UA-camrs going I suppose. It's also neat to hear that someone from Buffalo, NY takes a liking to the Razorbacks baseball team. You're a rare breed indeed, my friend.

    John, that sure did look like a buster to get off.....I would imagine the torque requires for those bolts are pretty high - who knows. You've proven that patience and some skull braining are all that is required.. along with some PB Blaster and Naval Jelly ( PB&J) Great episode John, and happy Mothers day to Wifey ! Have a great day my friend.

    • @joernone
      @joernone  5 років тому

      Ron,
      Surprisingly, the torque requirement for those nuts is only 50 - 76 foot pounds. And PB&J ...funny. 😁 Wish I had thought of that.

      John

    Happy to see that you got that control arm off John, Now that you know how it's assembled I suspect the other side's going to be a little easier for ya. Maybe you can go back to your original idea of tapping on the bolts with that punch set-up you had in the previous video. Keep an eye out for any shims that may be present on the other side. It's also raining here on Long Island, What a wet Spring we're having.

      Art,
      There are no shims in this car. Since leaving the assembly plant, it's not been aligned. A 1960s Arkansas farm road car didn't need no stinking alignment.😏

      John

    John, you are a wizard! Had to go out of town for a couple of days, but was thrilled to see a video pop up this morning. I knew you'd figure it out before I would. Glad to see that their not threaded through that horizontal shaft. Mine does have several shims behind the shaft on each bolt for alignment. May run and get a few cans of PB Blaster and try that without heat. Thanks, Mr. Wizard! LOL

    • @joernone
      @joernone  5 років тому +1

      Eric,
      Glad it helped, my friend. I don't know how many parts/bushings you plan to replace, but just know that whatever you do will without a doubt throw off the alignment. Just reinstall the shims in their original places and when you get around to having it aligned be sure to tell the mechanic what you did.
      Time for you to post a T-Bird vid showing everyone whatchagot, eh?
      Regards,
      John

      The Eagle Has Landed! Finally wrestled that thing off. Not much room between the fender and exhaust manifold to get a wrench on those bolts, especially with a 428 motor. I'm sure the 390 was the same. 2 shims on both front and rear bolt on passenger side, tagged and bagged. Good Stuff!

      Eric,
      Glad to hear it, my friend. Never a doubt. My car had no shims. Never been aligned. LOL

    I love PB Blaster but once you get that stuff on your clothes you can wash them multiple times and they still smell like it.

    WTG John! You know, I would like to see what the suggested labor hour for that procedure says in the Mechanics rate book for a certified mechanic to remove that. I bet it's up there in time and cost. You got er done buddy.

    • @joernone
      @joernone  5 років тому

      Carl,
      I'd hate to think what that job would have cost me if done by a professional mechanic, especially at a dealership, which I actively avoid like the plague.
      Not long ago I was our local Dodge dealership to have a recall fix done to wifey's van. While there, a fellow who was planning to drive his Dodge to the east coast for a visit with relatives asked how much a tuneup would cost him. $500.00! 🤢Needless to say, he practically ran out the door.

      John

      Don, Don, Don...it's the challenge of it all. Loads of fun. Man against machine and all that. Now get out there and work on your car...all the while smiling and whistling a happy little tune. It can't get any better.
