  • Thanks everyone we now have 1 million views on the FishingMad UA-cam channel and 1 million visitors to the FishingMad website. After some challenging weather and restricted availability we finally ventured out on Sunday avoiding the crowds in Werribee Port Phillip Bay. What started as nice calm conditions quickly turned nasty into large swells which cut our session short.
    That didnt stop us from catching our fair share of flathead, squid, pinky snapper, gurnard, and a million banjo sharks and a million starfish. Not the target big reds but lots of fun during some pretty trying conditions.
    Join Alan Bonnici on awesome fishing adventures by Land, Kayak, Boat & Jet Ski. Fishing with lures & bait to catch local saltwater & freshwater fish species. Congrats on a million views mate. Here's to the next million. Had a chuckle when you said "Bring in the banjo's." Burley is like, or are like women. Can't live with it, can't live without it. Great video mate. Loved the 80's rock blaring in the background too. Can't wait to get out again myself.

      Thanks Darren. I appreciate all of the ongoing support. Banjos and Starfish are in plague proportions around werribee at the moment which has made fishing really tough. Good to see your finally back out on the water, hopefully not to long until your next session. Your also on the right side of town as all the snapper seem to be getting caught there lately.

      @@fishingmad I was at Stony point today at various times throughout the day for work. Snapper, gummys and the biggest whiting I have ever seen were being cleaned at the ramp. Western Port for me next time.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah I think so too. Lots of good reports from WPort. I have mates who have been out daily in recent weeks at Port Phillip Bay and really struggling. I've prob had 6 sessions and only caught on 3 sessions.

      @@fishingmad snapper will be going to sleep soon most likely. Luckily December and January are great times to catch gummy's in Western Port. And February to April are prime time for whiting and pinkies. And then you get the autumn run of big snapper from April to June in Western Port too. (Also get them off Mornington, and down south too, near the shipping channels as they head out of the bays) So despite missing out on the main snapper season, I'm still hopeful that the first half of next year should be good.

    Great Video Alan!! where'd you launch from? was at blackrock and snapper were going nuts!! Launched from Werribee south btw.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah we launched near werribee, my boat has a very small fuel capacity so going across the bay can be tricky especially in conditions like that. Black Rock 100% has been the most productive area over the past few weeks. When did you get onto them. Also curious if it was morning or evening as most of the action seems to be in the evening recently.

    hey Alan, i recently brought a very similar boat to what you were on in the video. Just wondering what's the maximum wind speed before you would say don't go out for a 4.2m boat?

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  3 роки тому +1

      15-20 k winds would be the max that I would go out in. Prob 10-15 if a southerly breeze. I spend a lot of time studying the forecast when going out. Ideally 5-10k motherly seems to be the best combo.

      No worries. Youll notice many of my videos im often only using 1 soft plastic rod. During snapper season ill generally have an additional big bait or two out for good measure. I do a lot of work jointly with VFA and happy to advocate for people to follow the rules in place.
