I do like, that they made them fight in anime and how it went.
But it made people underestimate Delta's strength. Like she was beaten by John Smith. But Alpha forced Cid to drop John Smith act.
In manga and novel tho... Delta instantly knew he was Cid. And rushed him, dodging all threads and... hugged him. She was very capable of avoiding threats and closing distance.

She's cute because she has this childish innocence about her, acts like a little kid ecstatic to see her daddy come home. She is also a very powerful muscle head who does not think much and just acts on instinct.
The funniest thing about this is that in the manga, Cid knew Shadow Garden would send Delta after John Smith. So to prepare he took a deep bath and doused himself in perfume like a whore in a heat wave in order to overcome her sense of smell so that he could fool her and continue his little roleplay- AND IT STILL WASN'T ENOUGH! Her sense of smell was so sharp she still figured out John Smith was her beloved boss.
This one of the rare times where the anime does a better jobs than the manga

@@jakekgfn not really. You see delta is stronger than the knights of round. She should have immediately broken the steel wires. Even that wolf guy broke them and we do get shadow saying that it was just steel after all and proceeds to beat the shit out of the wolf guy. But this fight makes the wires strong enough to withstand delta, which they're not. So manga was, as the ln, more consistent as a whole.

for some reason i just could not like this anime, the main character being just plain insane, not super smart insane, not a genius insane, just plan batshit insane, made it hard. i mean, i know most anime feel like the world bends to the MC's whim, if the animne were to end and the told us that everything happened because either god just decided to fuck with him, or that cid has the bility to control reality, but can control his power, i would find it to be better, since he is batshit insane,, and makes up entire stories about things, and somehow every time its true, but not in the way he meant, and he is either so insane, that he does not realize his lies are true, or he is so dumb that he does not realize these people are real. i have no clue since i could not watch beyond i think the middle of the show.
someday may finish it, since it has such a cult following. and i know that my gripes can be pointed to a shitload of shows, some i love, its just something about this one that makes me hate it.
It helps if you've known some actual chuuni edgelords irl. Or were one yourself. Then Cid is much more relatable. He's not a nice guy. He's the protagonist, but not the hero of the story. He's peak selfishness. Anything he does that ends up helping people is by sheer accident.
