Thanks, this is awesome, I might even be inspired to have a crack at mine as I have a lady owned automatic 04 in great condition with only 84 000 kms on the clock.
Very indepth and good parts list, ive noticed one part missing is the rear diff auto have a different mount to bolt to the drive shaft and a 3.3 gear and open where as the manual diff has a 3.5 gear and vlsd
Your right, you should swap the diff as well! I found one and will be installing it soon, video coming out after it's complete! As far as bolting it up, the mounts are identical, no special parts need for the swap!!!👍🏁💯 Thanks so much for watching!
Excellent. I'm excited to swap mine I've gathered everything to my knowledge I'm just waiting til I have time and a proper workspace to get it done properly. Good luck m8 your car is super clean
Thanks for this, soooo helpful! with prices so crazy it’s worth just buying a clean auto and doing the swap. Doesn’t seem to involved of a process at all. Question: did you get reverse lights to work normally?
I loved watching the video man! Great production quality I must say. Quick question though. Did you happen to get the reverse lights to work with the manual trans swap?
Just finished the swap, video coming out soon! But I haven't figured out how to restore the reverse lights yet, most likely will have to install a manual transmission harness! Thanks so much for watching!
One question This is the same in all from 03-09 i have a 2009 hr and trying to do it myself just not sure if it is the same on a de and hr i have a guy whos got a wrecked 2007 hr and can get almost everything from the swap
You need to find out if the bolt pattern on the 2007 transmission housing is the same as the bolt pattern on 2009 transmission housing! Not all transmission housings are compatible with each other!
@@Zspeed thanks man i already get a jk41 trans that should be the same as mine i been looking into a lots of videos but the only ones that i see is kind of same is the 370z but yours is very clear and help me thru the swap Thanks men
I haven't had any issues with the speedometer working, I never disconnected anything to do with the speedometer so you may want to check your speedometer cables or electrical components!
No unfortunately, Nissan made some subtle changes to the bellhousing bolt pattern for each year! The only transmission that is interchangeable is 2005/2006! The 2003, 2004 and the 2007 are all a little different!
A manual diff will mainly effect freeway travel by lowering your rpm and giving you better gas mileage. Is your clutch new or used? It Could be a Slipping clutch!
@@Zspeed Clutch doesn’t seem to be slippin no rpm jumping or anything without acceleration just feels like im short power to the wheels but isnt new clutch maybe just wondering all options before swapping clutch i did both cam sensors and crank and spark plugs
@@Zspeed Seems like the automatic Zs are in cleaner condition and taken care of better. I know I know. BUT in hopes of having the cleanest manual version, I think I need to go the automatic Z purchasing route then do this swap. Thanks!

Idk if you realize how helpful this video is lol I
Soooo damn happy….great job can’t wait for part 3 to come out
Thanks so much for watching 👀!
Jesse, time to manual swap the Z
👍💯🏁
There’s not better videos for trans swap on-line. Congrats!!!
Thank you so much for watching 👀! 🏁👍💯
Thanks, this is awesome, I might even be inspired to have a crack at mine as I have a lady owned automatic 04 in great condition with only 84 000 kms on the clock.
Awesome, I hope you make the swap!!!
Here in the UK there are a few V35 Skylines that were imported, mostly 2.5 autos that were bought as cheap normie cars.
You can pick a nice one up for
hyped for the next vid my guy
This video was awesome!

VQ way better than mine! I have a guy coming by tomorrow to do the swap. Maybe I’ll do a more detailed version for the G.

Did you ever get it done ?
@@carlcarl2165 hell no it's still sitting on the porch 😭
Why didn’t you finish it ??

Did not know you were down here in 'Bama! Love your videos.
Thanks so much for watching! We will heading to Holiday Beach next month for a few runs!!
HSV!
NICE👍👍👍
Getting this done to mine eventually. Bought an 08 350z with 44k miles on it for a great price. I just couldnt pass it up and its auto.
Yeah it seems like the autos are usually in so much better shape that I'm tempted to get one for a manual swap. Manuals models are all torn up.
Just popped by to see if you uploaded again and I missed it. 👋
Sorry still working on the first of three videos detailing the automatic to manual swap, give it 3 or 4 days! Thanks so much for checking in 👍💯🏁!
Thanks for this, soooo helpful! with prices so crazy it’s worth just buying a clean auto and doing the swap. Doesn’t seem to involved of a process at all. Question: did you get reverse lights to work normally?
No, you would have to do a harness swap to get them working properly!
@@Zspeed that would also require a 6MT ecu correct? Might not be worth the hassle
Correct, I will be looking into some type of work around later on, something like a toggle switch!
Exactly what I’m going to do😋 found a clean z for under 3k. Clean body and paint.
Sounds like just buying a manual is more cost effective.
I loved watching the video man! Great production quality I must say. Quick question though. Did you happen to get the reverse lights to work with the manual trans swap?

@@Zspeed theres a thread on the Z forums on how to wire the reverse lights!
Thank you so much, I will definitely check that out!!!
About how much did it cost ?
Thank-you for making these videos. I want to swap my g35 2005 is the process similar?
Yes, it should be very similar, thanks so much for watching!!🏁👍
Am I the only one struggling to find these hard clutch lines anywhere. Somebody have a link on eBay ?
think isr makes a single line that goes from slave to master
I’m having the same problem. Everything else was so easy to find.

Do you remember the part # for the rubber tube that attaches to the breather tube on the manual transmission closer to the end of the video
are you from Birmingham AL? I live in irondale and i just baught 350z
Yes, good old Birmingham AL, if you have any questions just ask and don't forget to subscribe 👍💯🏁.
Does this all work for HR ? Or u may need more parts thanks you for posting
This should be very similar to the DE, some components my look a little different, but the overall concept should be the same!
Can u put a link for the parts that you got because I wanna swap my g35 into a manual
is there away you can post all part numbers for the once you have?
Hey! How is your work still holding up? Is it still working good?
It gets better every time I drive 🚗 it!!!!!🏁💯👍
Do you have a video of you putting it in?
Yes, it's a three part series which goes in great detail, step-by-step videos on how to manual swap your 350z!!!!
Please someone help me find the bolts and boot links he used??
Nissan dealer is your only hope Obi wan kenobi!
what about the harness for the reverse lights?
Sorry, no reverse lights available for now. I'm working on a solution!
Hi, is the swap installation video next?
Yes, next video is removing your automatic transmission mission, step by step 🚶♂️!!
Dumb question but would anything be different for a right hand drive? Looking into swapping my 03 fairlady Z but have no clue if I need specific parts
I have never looked at the engine bay of a right hand drive, but it should be very similar when doing a manual swap!👍💯🏁
Can I ask if it is necessary to change the drive shifter? Because I think you can cut something and use it or there is something inside?
Sorry, the end of the drive shaft in a lot different, it doesn't fit right!!😪
If you don’t mind me, asking, how much did all of this cost? I would like to do the same thing to my Z.
With a new transmission, about 3,600.00!
@@Zspeed so with the transmission and all of the other parts, it added up to be 3600?
What was the Part # for the slave cylinder bolts?
How about the diff since they have different ratios. Would it be worth the time swapping them over?
Yes, I will be changing my diff out in a couple months, so stay tuned for details in the upcoming video!!!
I have a 370 z automatic. I wonder if it can be manual swapped too
Yes you sure can, here is a link for you: ua-cam.com/video/ryvnUcu4B7M/v-deo.html
hey! can you buy a car off copart without a special license
Would this also work for G35s??? Either way amazing video man!
Yes, this will definitely work on a G35!!!
So the flex plate bolts from the automatic will not work with the flywheel for the manual
That's correct, you will need a new set of flywheel bolts 🔩 for your clutch install!!!
Hey, Do you need a retune on the 350z after do a transmission swap on a tune procharge 350z
No, my tune is still working fine!!🏁👍💯
Total that u spend ??
Around 3,600.00!
Would manual swap my z???? I can’t find someone goid
Don't forget to subscribe, and thanks so much for watching!!!
Where do you live? I’d pay you to do this for me one day.
Lake View, AL!!
Thanks so much for watching!!!!
How do you make the speedometer to work?
I haven't had any issues with the speedometer working, I never disconnected anything to do with the speedometer so you may want to check your speedometer cables or electrical components!
I think your missing the flywheel bolts
Oh nvm😂
T55, I got them, thanks so much for watching!!!
On Z1 they don’t say how many miles the trans comes with tho
Just give them a call!!
Hi Can I swab any automatic transmisiion 2003,2005,2006 to my 2004 350z without any trouble?
No unfortunately, Nissan made some subtle changes to the bellhousing bolt pattern for each year! The only transmission that is interchangeable is 2005/2006! The 2003, 2004 and the 2007 are all a little different!
@@Zspeed well if I replace bellhousing with mine, will work?
What year is your 350z and what year is your new manual transmission?
How about the ecu
You don't have to change or alter the ECU if you follow my automatic to manual swap videos!
When you do the swap do any lights come on the dash? Or does it throw any codes?
We will be going over all of the codes in part 3!!!
how much money did it cost for the parts?
Cost will vary, depending on how many new parts versus how many used parts you use in swap!
Recently swapped my 350 but my power doesn’t seem to be getting put down the same could that be due to still having a auto diff

who can i pay to do this for me
would the process be the same for swapping a g35?
Just a few differences, like the drive shaft is different, just a few things like that!!!
Did you change the cluster
Not yet, maybe some day!!🏁👍
So how does it work
THis can be done?
Yes it's possible, I will be releasing videos with step by step instructions, so just stay tuned!!!

Wait real question tho how much does it cost?
Depends on how much you want to spend, I paid around $3,800.00 for all my parts! But you can do it for much less with parts from a Wrecking yard!
@@Zspeed yeah that's fair price
Did you have to change or tune anything out of the ECU?
No, tune sounds even better with the manual transmission!!!
I REALLY wanted to watch this video, but then I heard your voice...
Your gonna turn down learning something over a voice? Get out the house man..people from all over have different style voices and accents
He schooled me good job bro
Really good stuff man! Question tho. Dont you nwed an ECU and engine harness from a manual car as well?
No, you can use the old ECU and harness!
@@Zspeed is nats delete required when you do this swap?
No, NATS delete disables the security chip in your key and allows you to get a new key made without having Nissan reprogram your key so it will start!
