This was such a good game. Lots of moments where the balance was so delicate that if either player did one little thing different, it could have turned everything around. This is why we watch LEL.
Wow this is probably my favorite LEL game in terms of how back and forth it was and evenly matched it ended up. So many moments where a slight difference could've changed everything. Well played to both of the players honestly
17:35 - huge prediction in chat 19:30 - both hit 49 vils 20:00 - idle tc times sync up for 3 minutes straight 22:32 - red loses a vil 23:34 - red makes 1 vil and both are 49 again 24:22 - W supplies call thankst90
9:20 "If I was on a voice call with red..." THIS SHOULD BE THE NEXT NEW CONTENT! T90 live coaching low elo legends on voicechat while viewing the game from their perspective. Would be really interesting to see how much decision making plays into winning and knowing when to give up etc.
I think one of the most beautiful thing in this game was you could actually see red learning and adapting. Missed out on military support for bbc. Fixed in the end with halb skirm protecting treb. Trickle treb dying? Massed 4 for a push. Honestly I would’ve called it if I lost control of the mid
Loved running around with Mangudai as a kid. The reason you hate your own voice when you hear it from an outside source is because we normally mostly hear ourselves through bone conduction. We vibrate our own ears/skull when we speak, but this doesn't happen when we listen to a recording. When we hear our own speech played back, it lacks a lot of the qualities we are used to hearing and sounds "wrong".
The way I liked to play guarantees I'd be trashed. I like to have proper-looking medieval cities, rather than this gamy stuff. Does it slow me down? Absolutely, but it's just not as fun as treating it as a part-time urban planning simulator XD
- I was like, ahh, he wrote a song, that would be fun to hear the lyrics, and then you said you played guitar to back yourself up, and I knew WE MUST HEAR THIS!
this game reminds me of the two major schools of thought in chess: classical and hypermodern. everyone agrees the center of the board is very important to control but go about it in very different ways: classical thinkers like to use pawns to build a structure to occupy the center while hypermodern players use their other pieces to attack and undermine such structures, controlling the center indirectly. just like how red in this game immediately starts dropping buildings to control the gold pit while blue simply waits and builds up pressure with army and eventual trebuchets. cool game!
I've played games with my friends and family that have lasted hours and stretched days between saves and never saw this many castles go down. Maybe that's grossly inaccurate, but it felt like it. Those 2 were really fun to watch and I'm glad they didn't resign with resources in the bank.
16:44 that actually does happen at low elo! _''Bad at the game, but great at one thing''_ . Played one or two 700s as well who couldn't react or stabilize, but were absolutely deadly with one mangonel. Or hand no eco balance and really bad up times, but could out-micro ballistics with archers in the classic Liereyy method. A year ago, I couldn't handle an economy with more than 40 vils to save my life - but give me six lancers and my opponent would lose half his eco no matter how many pikes he had.
This was such a throw from blue.. Did he ever go above 130 pop? He had so many ressources and all he needed to do was queue up the troops and click them in..
T90 'I think this game is going to be over very quickly' *Me looking at video progress bar and seeing more than half the video remaining* 'is that so?'
You know what's the weirdest about your vids? You commentate about different things as the game progresses, one moment you talk about possible strategies, things the player is doing but the other one is missing and also moments you relax and talk about personal life and such. As this is a vid longer than an hour I felt like skipping.... BOY DID THAT BITE ME BACK: One moment you're talking about falling asleep to your own older vids "But now don't live together anymore and I cannot do that so I stopped doing that so all is fine now, I promis you I'm normal", next click I do: "She left me shortly after". WHAT THE HELL?? Ahw shit! I must have missed stuff again. Now I need to go back and listen to this whole podcast to make sense! (TLDR: you're commenting (and voice with that) is so soothing, you're captivating me to listen more, so that's a big plus)
My assumption is he wanted to play map control. Control the mid, get early gold and stone and once you age up, you could throw down castles and towers for mid map defense. Then with the mass amount of gold and stone resources, you could starve out your enemy. Only drawback would be early aggression. We’ll see what happens
I knew it. As a lel myself, that would’ve been my thought process lmao. I want all that sweet gold and stone for myself xD but as t90 said, if my opponent had attacked my base with enough force and speed, I would’ve been screwed. But throwing down consistent castles could intimidate the enemy too while you technically could relocate your base. Pretty much need some wood lines and you’d be fine I think
A lot of these suggestions are antithetical to what most other RTS teachers suggest. If you don't know what you're scouting for you don't need to worry about scouting. You also don't need to worry about and prepare for your opponent doing an infinite number of things at any given moment. Also, if you're trying to improve, you don't try to do everything good every game. You pick one or two things to work on and focus on doing those things well until it feels natural while ignoring literally every other kind of mistake in you gameplay. When and what to scout for and what you need to worry about from opponents will naturally arise from experience and watching replays. ie. If you play 5 games where someone brings five archers to your base 3 minutes into feudal, you now have something to scout for. You'll naturally say to yourself, "I'm a bit into feudal now so I need to check if my opponent is making archers." You don't need to worry about scouting until these sort of experiences and conclusions come to you.
@@scottdebrestian9875 ah, You're suggesting that because they have hundreds of games played that they should have accrued the experience necessary to know what to scout for,? Or am I mistaken about you comment...? The answer is probably that they don't need to scout early game. Players at this ELO are barely executing on fundamentals. Their dark age build still isn't super-tight and their feudal is likely even more rough so nobody at this level is dying in the first 15-20 minutes to well executed timing attacks. There's nothing going on in the first 15-20 minutes that is going to make any of these players think "Oh, he's doing x so I need to start doing y" because they can barely execute the basic gameplan. Hammer down the fundamentals first and let the complexity come after.
-"lets push with two trebs" -- got wrecked by Mangudai -"lets make two more" -- again wasnt enough -"then lets make two bombard cannons" -- killed by Mangudai once again -"hmm.. two more trebs?"

Red was very one dimensional for majority of the game, if he mixed in a couple knight, elephants or even a mass on halbs could have been much stronger this game
- Remember everyone, if there's someone out there specifically fitted to marriage with an AoE2 Caster, there's someone out there for you. Be patient, improve yourself while you wait.
Come on T90! How on earth do you have all this caster/player knowledge and not know how faith works? Faith gives a resistance level of 3 reducing the chance of a conversion from 28% to 28/3. Also it adds 2 seconds to your initial convert start and 4 to auto convert. This makes them 6 seconds and 14 seconds. Thus, much better than 50% less chance. Before any says well he knew it helped. When Burgundians and Gujaras went from 50% to 40% everyone said it was trivia, but reducing a bonus from 50% to less than 25% would be called a major nerf.
If people are out there hunting boar and gathering meat for the village and all you worry about is getting some rest, you need to reevaluate your life choices
In these low elo games 90% of the time both could easily win if they just got 100-120 villagers and produced. They could spam Longswords and still win most games with a more than 50 vil eco. But I just love that they don't :D
Mongol Hussar take 3x the damage from skirms compared to FU Hussars. Also Mongol Hussar still do poorly against FU Cav: 12+4AD/5Armor vs 7+4AD/2Armor...
