For those confused about the gameplay: Unlike other Battle Network games, Battle Chip Challenge was a spin-off deckbuilder-ish game that switched from Action RPG to a very RNG-dependent autobattle system. Before each fight, you build a deck (the sideways pyramid-flowchart you see in battles) and each round the game would randomly select a "path" through it, activating all chips set on it in alternating turns between you and your opponent. It was a very hands-off combat system, your only interaction during fights was limited to extra attacks via Slot-In chips that you could sneak into a turn, with the chance of success being determined by the increasing %-Meter you see at the bottom of the battle screen.
I can't get enough of these character designs. The Mega Man series has really great art in general, but Battle Network has one of my favorite aesthetics.
Wildest part about this game that isn’t the drastic shift from regular BN combat is the same people who made the Zero/ZX games made this: inti creates. This is definitely different from anything they made before and after this to say the least-
if you want to be THAT technical the OG gacha games are just called gacha, I mean, literally. The term came from physical japanese toy-vending machines called "gachapon" after all

I just looked up the details of the gameplay, and damn, the amount of rng manipulation needed it's just astounding
Thank you to the person who made this tas, i love this game and it deserve more love.
11:17 - WoodMan.EXE literally pulled out 'Pingas Launcher'.
I remember giving up on this because I didn't understand it.

Wait, did in-house capcom make bn? I swear inti made all the gba/ds games before making gunvolt on the 3ds and onward
@@carlosemilio5180 nope, they did do the zero/zx series as well as mm9/10, but everything else was made by capcom
I like to think this was the OG gacha game, or if not the first certainly one of the earliest.

I mean BN 1 has gachapon so this doesn't surprise me.
My god this game goes on forever.
I remeber this game so many hours of my childhood gone to this game
All these 1 turn deletions and the game still rarely gives an S Rank. What scale are they working on?
Lolol Imagine using Bass and you get c rank.
They need to put out a collection of these games already. Or at least the first three and this.
Can't see it happening tbh.
@@Shoeclock lol
Unfortunately Crapcom thinks battle chip challenge don't deserve to be put in the collection....they don't even want to add network transmission
Awesome TAS
I still love it this game
Wish they would've remastered this game as well :(
I never play this one, looks fun
So early there is no text commentary, oh wait...
i moss this game ;-;
