So wait a second - the NORMAL machine parts can be sold for shards ? I always keep the Apex ones because I feel strangely like they can be of good use. I mainly sell duplicate coils for shards, but I may try selling normal machine parts.
6:18 pro tip about the tremortusk you’re hunting right there. If you think it is hard to fight, you can basically just go on top of the mountaintop behind it and shoot off all the parts from there. Using the environment as an advantage is what I always do, and it saves me a lot of trouble. If you start with shooting off its weapons first it will have no way to hurt you at all
Yeah, but he doesnt need this. He uses shock discs from ancestors return. That means, the Elefant sleeps every 15 sec for a while, willing to spend some parts for poor warriors.
Shredder ammunition is much more expensive than regular arrows though. So a stealthy approach that uses the environment is a good way to be more frugal. If I want to have fun and just brute force it I will also jump on top of a big machine and kill it flashily. Depends on what your goals are, I guess.
Do not sell the crystal braiding. Even if the machine master playstyle may be niche for most people elemental clawstriders are the strongest weapon Aloy can get and turning machines against each other is one of her best crowd control options especially on the higher difficulties. Regarding the beach farming method, go to the boat at the southern end of the isle of spires. The boat Aloy used to reach the island. If you use that boat to return to the mainland the nearby slaughter spine doesn't spawn which leaves the whole beach free to farm for animal skins. It's a large open area and running up and down it is probably the best way to spawn the beach critters. Edit: also, I am not farming fireclaws to sell the sac webbing. A quick tip for the Tremortusk farm: Kill the Tremortusk, run back to the nearby campfire quick save and then restart from save it will pop the Tremortusk back up.
@@nickwong2525yup. That’s how I used to do it for shards and weaves/coils. A braced shot on Easy from a maxed out Forgefall with 5 25% Long Distance to the belly is a one shot kill. If you use 50 fast travel packs and then sell everything you will make tens of thousands of shards in about 22 min. But Arena dupe makes all of this silly.
I find running about 300 units away from the machine site is enough to get the machine to respawn - you can often see them respawning. The dreadwing will respawn about 3/4 of the way to Latopolis for example. It makes it very easy to rapidly farm machines if you put the difficulty down to story.
Theres a small beach to the far west of the map right above a clamberjaw site, it also has a campfire on it. It spawns pelicans, gulls, crabs and lobsters very quickly. The best place to farm expensive animal parts in my experience: a beach around halfway between Tide's Reach and Thornmarsh, just south of a Clawstrider site. There is a very convenient campfire nearby, and it's big, so the respawn rate is high enough that you almost can't collect the loot as fast as new animals appear. Just don't get too close to the Clawstriders ;)
I played Zero Dawn on Ultra Hard before moving to my first Forbidden West playthrough, and I feel like that really primed me to make lots of money on hunting without trying. I kept up the habit when I got to Forbidden West, and couldn't believe how much money I had without trying lol.
@@kjellbeats the reason it's 2 billion is because the shard value is stored using an signed int32 number which has the max value of 2147483647. So if it's stored using int64 format it will be roughly 9 billion billion (9x10^18, so 9 follow by 18 zeroes)

It's actually rather easy to farm the crabs and lobsters with melee. You can run to them and use a light attack. It does scare the other crabs next to you, but since they respawn so fast, it's not a big deal. And you don't even have to aim or use ammo
Pouch upgrade resources were a literal game changer for me. I took down the Tremortusk over and over and over and over... and finally realized that going hunting with my cheapest arrows on the beach with the boat was WAY more profitable. A lot of the videos I see with ways to get shards don't account for the cost of ammo. If you're using a 10 shard arrow to take down a 50 shard animal, that's 40 profit. Often when hunting machines, the cost of the ammo outweighs the profit from the parts.
Thanks for the tips. I've been farming tusks but I'll def just do the whisper bow thing. I Dont want shards for eveything but I'm over having to constantly hunt for ammo resources. Just want to buy a huge stock of everything I need for ammo and not worry about it.
There’s a reason for this. Try hunting those large machines without doing the small stuff first and see how it goes. Perhaps even right from the get go. If you don’t value the small stuff, you don’t deserve the big stuff. In this case, the big stuff will remind you of that.

Haven't watched the video, but if you're interested in getting infinite shards and have engame mounts you can perform the arena duplication glitch to, in the end, get 250 of all expensive sell items every ~5 minutes

@@ArktixOfficial Might explain why most of the legendary upgrades use primarily dreadwing and tideripper parts haha.
Much appreciated!
Hello! Quick question, does crit work with elemental buildup?
NEXT: how to not run out machine muscle
This is so true. I wonder if there are any videos about this.
Do you have a link to the essential tips video?
Does the whisper bow flip still work? Couldn't get mine to
Yup still works. Make sure you’re not buying it from the buyback section. You need to buy it from the merchant’s regular inventory every time.
Which vendor has it? I had one from the earlier ng playthrough, sold it, got the one in the chest and now I can't buy it again if not from the buyback option
Does not appear to me on the weapon list in Plainsong or Scalding Spear! I'm on ng+ Normal
@ArktixOfficial
Unfortunately the bow is patched from what I can tell
Nope. You're probably going to the buy back. Watch carefully how I do it. You don't want to go to buy back.
@@ArktixOfficial it is'nt available to purchase in any mentioned settlement anymore (i tried plainsong and barren light) , i do have burning shores edition though
@@parthpandey1920 actually I got confused, turns out if you go to any other vendor instead of plainsong then you can't do it because the prices are different
@@ArktixOfficial oh yep, turns out other vendors except plainsong from what I noticed sell it at a different price than you mentioned
I'm in a similar boat, you can't upgrade it at all or it will not be able to be used to farm shards. Just found this out the hard way
PC players are rejoicing for this! thanks! also, does the loot quantity differ if i set the game difficulty to story for easy loot?
No
Handy tips! LoL at the bow trick. 😂
Love how one method is "Scam these forgetful merchants".
Just, I have 8k shards rn (well I'm level 23) and still don't know what to spend, except the sonic resources for crafting Tear Arrow.
Does the arena glitch from the ps5 work on pc as well? (Im playing zero dawn on pc before i do forbidden west and just wanna know if i can do that as easily on pc as it was on ps5 lol)
Yes it does
The Whisperer Hunter Bow farm is working for me. It costs 250 to buy after selling it.
You mean it isn't work for you? Not sure how that would be possible. Are you sure you're looking at the purchase value and not the sell value?
@@ArktixOfficial i mistakenly didn't try to sell to the merchent in Plainsong. It's working thank you so for the Tips. your vids are the reason i don't feel frustrated while i play that game nice job 👏
@@Houssamelsherif Great! Glad you got it figured out. And thanks! Glad to hear you've found my tips helpful 😁
Believe me, Berserk Arrows are extremely useful on UH.
Agree. I find berserk arrows very useful. It's fun to watch machines brawl amongst themselves. the only drawback I see is the potential for less looting. Machine kills do far more damage to other machines than hunter tear arrows, so you can end up with less valuable loot
I'm haivng a problem , almost at the endgame
Whenever I loot the lootboxes I get a hell lot of health potions of all different types , but whenever I look up into my inventory it always shows 0 and I can't assign it in my pouch
Ah ok so that's probably because you've max out your inventory potion capacity and the potions are being sent to your stash. Check if they're in your stash. Also, consider upgrading your potions pouch.
@@ArktixOfficial I'm doing that only but can't find the stupid squirrel hide 🤣
Literally got 20 of its bones and other stuff but not 2 hides
Look for an herbalist. They sell animal parts
You have too many potions in your pouch. You can Cary a max of 10 potions.
The herbalist at the quen settlement sells all the things you need to upgrade your pouches to max
Countdown to the Whisper Bow exploit being fixed..
Does the hunter bow thing works on PC i'll have to try that :D
It's doesn't work unfortunately
It does work. You must be doing a step wrong. My guess is you’re going to the buyback section by mistake. Don’t go there to buy it again. Go back to the merchant’s for sale inventory.
@@ArktixOfficial yes, you have right. I just try buyback it. Everything work like in video. thank you
@@Weredyk_PL Great! Glad you got it figured out!
it says the bow is sold out is this a bug? (I'm o new game plus is that it?)
If it says it’s sold out, then you own it already. You need to sell it first. Check your stash.
Right on!
60k shards in 30 minutes,thanks
I sold and buy back whisper hunter bow with same price 250 shard
Did i do something wrong? Can someone explain.
Are you going to the buyback section? If so, don’t do that. Buy it from the merchant’s weapon inventory.
@ArktixOfficial thk you for the info
No problem!
Selling the wisper hunterbow is 357
Buy ot back is the same.
Take a look at that part of that video again. You should not be buying it from the merchant’s buyback section.
bruh im new to forbidenwest so i tried the last thing but it does not work anymore
Hope you’re enjoying the game. I can confirm everything in this video still works on PC and PlayStation 👍
Yeah sell all those valuables… until you need that rare heart. I try and keep one or two of each of these.
Just the tricks I need
I cant get th bow anywhere is any specific location?
What bow? See pinned comment for common issues and extra tips.
The whisperer hunter bow
time for a mega clear out in my inventory that i dont need anymore glad its safe to sell of all those hearts in the sellables know if only we could sell of all that useless greenshine has well good and useful video though
There's a few merchants who take green shine as payment
Okay but we are all waiting for the real game breaker video. How will you name it? I suggest “I want to be a billionaire.” 😅
I SWEAR the goose DOES👏NOT👏 EXIST👏 IN 👏THIS 👏GAME👏
lol they can be tricky to find. Make a job for an item that needs one, like a pick upgrade, and the map will show you where to find them.
If you're going to do this why not just download a trainer and give your self as many shards you want
Isn't using Cheat Engine is even better, trainers usually cost money.
@vh9network no they don't
They fixed the whisper bow one already😢
Nope. Not sure where you're looking exactly, but you can still buy it for 149 and sell for 250. Make sure you're following the steps exactly.
I stand corrected I just tried it, it works. But I swear I did it yesterday and the buy/sell price was the same
You were probably looking in the buyback section instead of the merchant’s normal inventory.
Glowy lobster skins and fish skins is how I made my fortune. An honest days work. How quaint of me. I hope Rost himself if proudly smiling looking down from Nora heaven.
by using last glitch its better to use cheat engine or trainer to add desired shards amount :D farming thousands of animals is waste of time tbh
0:15 You need to be precise. There is no sort by category. Btw, can't see the word Type on the screen because CC is turned on.
You can clearly see what I mean if you're looking at the video. All you need to do is click the button that I pointed out until you get the "valuables to sell section". Captions are not controlled by me. That's a user setting on your end. You can easily turn it off.
@@ArktixOfficial the point being, not Category, is Type. Btw, many who use UA-cam don't watch, they listen.
@@M3e36-99 Understood. I was using the term "category" generally. I believe my exact wording was "...sort you inventory into categories". Maybe I should have said, "...sort your inventory by type.", but I feel my use of the term "category" was not misused. I also clearly pointed out the button and you use to get the sorting you need. I'm sorry if this was confusing to you. Hopefully you got it figured out.
@@ArktixOfficial like I said, I can't be the only one that mostly listen to UA-cam while doing something else and take notes when we hear something useful. I could not find Category.
music is too loud for me :(
Sorry about that. I’ll try to make it a bit quieter in the future.
It got fixed i think i cant find the bow no one is selling it
Nope. Not fixed. As mentioned, you need to complete the Shadow in the West side quest.
Its a side quest?
@@ilija_stanic yes it does still work they were right
Don't sell the all the valuable cause heart and stuff you will need it to upgrade your stuff!
Actually, they fixed that, so it’s safe to sell them now.
Whisper hunter bow trick is patched on pc.
I have ~2.8 M shards. I should be a landlord or something but that's another game. 😁
Haha nice 😁
55 million shards, whaat?! 😁 We can't spend that much money, too.
He didn’t get that selling Whisper Bows or animal parts. 😉
Hi Cooper.
Just look and you'll know you're selling too much chicken
Beserk arrows were such a huge disappointment compared to Zero Dawn.
Coils aren't worth it in my opinion. They nerfed them in this one.
Just use cheat engine people, stop losing time with this nonesense
just use cheat engine and set 999999999999 of shards
❤
Meh just use we mod on pc
Just use cheat engine on PC
just use a trainer, why go over all this hassle if you're on pc
What is a trainer
Cheat engine...
