    I use GB to make decent death metal. A tip I have is to use the retro wah guitar for the simple fact you can write like there are more strings (like from 7-9 string guitars) and put the drums behind it.
    When you finish the song (without changing any of the eq on the drums or guitar), merge ONLY the guitar as a singular track so it can go over a guitar amp. That way if you don’t have the best audio recorder for a personal guitar, it’s the next best thing.
    NOTE: Make sure to keep a copy of the original with AMP settings from the ‘finished’ version, just in case you wanna fix something with the guitar notes, since you can’t edit it as an audio clip after merging)
    Hope this might help anyone that wants better guitars! :)
    (Also, tried this with bass, but there is a slight issue that no compressor or eq settings can fix; a loud click at the start of every bass note in a segment. It’s a personal pet peeve 💀)

    When you add the guitar that has higher notes how do you know how to add lt there? Is it the top notes of the chord? Also when a note for the guitar is between the A and B what is it called since its unnamed. Like when you add those notes above at 2:05 how would I know where to add that to my riff? Thank you.

      Good question ^

    • @nathanieldamarelos
      @nathanieldamarelos  2 роки тому +3

      Yes it’s the second note in a power chord, a power chord consists of essential two notes, in your example A is the pairing note for D to make a power chord, and then the third is the root octave being D again. The unnamed notes are sharp or flat notes, in your example it’s A sharp (A#) or B flat (B♭)

      @@nathanieldamarelos how would you find the second note for the power chord for any note? Thanks

    • @nathanieldamarelos
      @nathanieldamarelos  2 роки тому +1

      @@Prog_drummer35 a few ways, if you have a guitar you can find the notes from that, you can also use the GarageBand guitar, if you need clarity on what a power chord is I’d suggest a video for that, you can also count how many notes are in between D and A and what that amount is will give you the second note for any note you choose. It also sounds correct, there will be a dissonant incorrect sound to the chord if you placed the second note wrong

    When I’m editing what the guitar plays directly (as you’re doing in the video) I experience playback issues in which some notes will be played as muted despite them not being (the bar is not under them). Similarly, when I create a chord by creating 2 or more notes upon playback only one of the notes will be played, and it takes a create deal of fiddling with them on my end to be able to make them play simultaneously. Are these issues unique to me or is this common?

    • @nathanieldamarelos

      It’s dumb in order to have both notes ring out you have to first put in the first note, exit the edit option out of the guitar section, re enter the edit option and then add the second note for the power chord and then both will ring out as a chord, and from there it’s easier to just copy and paste that chord so you don’t have to repeating this annoying process haha

    how do you have notes lower than d be individual notes instead of chords? cuz anytime i try to do c# or c, they are always a chord

    • @nathanieldamarelos
      @nathanieldamarelos  Рік тому +1

      So it’s weird, the reason why it does chords for one note for C or C# is because your individual note is too long, if you place a note and it’s a chord, then shorten the midi note, delete it, then whenever you place a new note it’ll automatically be the same short length as it was before you deleted it and it’ll make an individual note instead. It’s a bitch idk why it’s like this
