With plenty of playing, and detailed demos of the P525's many voices and features, this is a must for anyone considering a P525, or in the market for a new premium digital piano.

    Excellent review and demonstration. I live in the East Coast US. I watched this a few weeks ago and it led me to a decision to return my P-225, purchased 6 weeks ago, and upgrade to the P-525. And I'm so glad I did!

      does the P525 have a lot more depth, clarity, dynamic range and quality of sound? I got a P225 and I am incredibly disappointed with everything about it.

    I'm not a major, but I've been playing the piano for about 25 years as a hobby and now I'm practicing to play Chopin's waltz.
    I have a question.
    I'm going to buy a new piano because the CLP440 I've used for over 10 years is not in good condition.
    P525 and CLP745 are being compared.
    Which is the better choice between the two?

    Does it work well as a midi controller for VST? I’ve had issues with Yamaha’s not sending the full 0-127 velocity range thus resulting in unrealistic playing sending very poor dynamic range (this can’t be fixed with curve editing).

  • @TheSunlight74
    @TheSunlight74 6 місяців тому +4

    Is the CFX sample any different from the 515? I can't hear it if so. Also, the lighter touch keyboard might not be to everyone's taste. I was hoping Yamaha would put the CLP785's Grand Touch (with counterweights) keybed in this one. At this point I'm minded to keep the 515.

      Keep your P515 (as I am doing). The sound in this is actually WORSE to my ears and the keyboard action is very unbalanced. I'm not sure where anyone is getting information that there are 'new' samples in this instrument?

    I do think it's a shame Yamaha seem to have ditched their NWX action as found in the P515 My only experience of it was playing a CLP 645 for a wedding. It felt amazing in my opinion and i loved the really heavy action. The Grand Touch S is definitely lighter.

    Hi Tony,
    Sound OK in isolation. Would you be able to do comparison videos between the P515 and P525 so we can consider the changes and assess if the improvements are trivial or significant? It would also be good to have a comparison video to show how the P525 compares to the ES920 and FP90X.

    • @elsuity6580
      @elsuity6580 6 місяців тому +5

      I kind of did a video talking about the p525 and p515. In summary my conclusion was that they're basically the same as far as sound quality goes the only major difference being the light key action.

    • @TheSunlight74
      @TheSunlight74 6 місяців тому +1

      @@elsuity6580 This is how I'm seeing it. Can't hear a significant upgrade in the CFX sample or any of the others for that matter. Then it comes down to whether you prefer a light keybed - I'm fine with the P515's NWX and think it better represents the resistance of an acoustic piano.

    • @elsuity6580

    • @lumpichu
      @lumpichu 6 місяців тому

      @@elsuity6580 Yes. The hint is also that still only the CFX has binaural sampling. The new samples (on CLP-7xx series) have binaural sampling also for the Bosendorfer. Makes me even happier I'm not missing out with the 515. To be honest, I'm not sure if the new samples would be better anyway, they sound a bit lifeless to me. The Grand Expression Modeling sound just like a marketing mumbo jambo without substance, only underlined by the fact it sounds just like the previous generation.

    What is this keyboard stand you were using for the 525? Is it a Yamaha L7S? Does it fit? Is there a way to connect both with screws?

    • @AndrewKeyz
      @AndrewKeyz 6 місяців тому

      L7B (B just stands for black). No it just rests on there as the stand has some pads at the top. I don't really recommend this personally as it is definitely an inch or two higher compared to the average piano and quite a bit higher than a grand especially. You can't adjust it as sturdy as the L7B is.

    How does it compare to the FP90x as far as piano sound and layering piano with strings/pads. One thing I notice with the 525 is when layering the piano with strings, the strings cut out and don’t sustain like the FP90x. Is there a way to get the strings to hold longer and not cut out so easily?

    • @kristoradion
      @kristoradion 6 місяців тому

      That's Yamaha's string behavior since long ago. In PSR series, we can adjust the sustain length, but in P series i don't know. Some might prefer that behavior since if you play many keys in one sustain, the string notes do not stack up.

    One cannot expect a true fair assessment from piano shops because they are pushing sales of these pianos. They wouldn't dare say a bad word, not a tiny ounce, because they want customers to feel 100% good. Any problems? Talk to the manufacturer, not them.
