    THANK YOU! Finally someone decided to do this video!
    I would add (and this applies to those riding at 40+ and those chilling at 25):
    If you're the fast rider passing a slower rider to their left, announce yourself: À GAUCHE.
    If you're the slower rider hearing a "À GAUCHE", that doesn't mean you must move to your left. Nor does it mean you should slow down or, even worse, move to your right. When you hear "À GAUCHE/DROITE": Keep your lane AND your speed and we'll go around you :)
    Oh and, bro, it's 2021. Before you launch a snot rocket, look behind you.

    Bon vidéo! J'ajouterais ceci:
    -Si t'es un touriste, laisse ton cellulaire dans tes poches et mets tes deux mains sur le guidon de ton Bixi!
    -Si t'es un amateur, peu importe ton niveau, fais tes angles morts avant de faire un virage!
    -Si roules à 45km/h, rappelle toi que que y'a du monde à 50+km/h qui vont te dépasser!
    -Si tu viens prendre des photos de ta Subaru STI modifiée ou de ta BMW straight pipe, roule pas à 150 km/h en te rendant dans la ligne des puits.

    If going for a run I'm assuming I should be staying on the right side at all times (in the chilling zone)? Very informative otherwise, thanks for sharing!

    • @CharlesOuimet
      @CharlesOuimet  3 роки тому +1

      For running, I'd actually suggest that you go counter clock-wise, on the car lane. I've seen runners do that and it's way safer like that for everyone. The problem when going into the ''chilling zone'' so slow is the huge speed difference!

    I go there all the time and you nailed it. Keep your right at all time except when you're passing someone. Tbf though, most of the crash I've seen are from tourists on bixies who have no clue what's going on.

    Sometimes I ride on the left when I'm passing others, then suddenly I go BONK and want to move right, but then you realize there's a whole peloton drafting behind you all the time and starts passing you to your right "ta droit ta droit ta droit zoom zoom" then you can't move right and you're stuck on the left without gas, with your mouth open 180bpm heartrate lol. Now I just try to find some riders of similar speed as me and stay behind them

    • @CharlesOuimet
      @CharlesOuimet  3 роки тому +1

      I definitely get your issue!! Maybe it would be better for you to move to the middle before going BONK ahah :p If people where on your wheel, throw the left elbow why shifting to me middle, they'll then pass on the left

    Great video ! As someone relatively new to cycling I wish I could've watched that video earlier.
    Just an idea if you make more of this format (Montée CH or Pro Tour maybe?) you could add a map of the segment/circuit with your live position on the side of the screen, so people who've never been there can get a better idea. NorCal Cycling does that really well on his crit videos if you wanna see what I'm talking about

    • @CharlesOuimet

      Thanks! Yeah Pro tour next!!
      I've tough about the map, but it's quick a long process to do in post-production, but I'll do it for the next video, thanks!

  • @curvenut
    @curvenut 3 роки тому

    Great !
    and you should add for group of riders :
    - do NOT ride in row of 3 riders (and+) width , the track is not yours, so stick to single line
    - when the group of riders is passing others riders, it is important to give enough space and not cut their line
    - the bigger the group, the less intelligent the people

    Thank you! People really need this. There are now so many recreational bikers (not cyclists) that are unaware that the track is a training spot for avid cyclists. There are so many accidents lately due to people not knowing what the track is really for. Someone is in a coma right now because of this… 😢

    • @CharlesOuimet

      Definitely makes sense to keep it standard, so I’ll keep right now. Keeping left did make sense to me though because the majority of the turns are right so leaving the inside of the turn free for speeders!

    Après les autres cyclistes faut parler des classiques: couples en patins à roues alignées main dans la main qui prennent toute la largeur, les groupes de marcheurs dans le couloir de gauche pis les joggeurs en sens inverse. Faut aimer ça le circuit.
