Hi, Yasmina! Thanks for the awesome galaxy tutorial! I follow you on Skillshare. I love your teaching style! Your explanations are always clear, simple, and make me feel like I can achieve the results that I want. :)
It's so beautiful! I'll definitely be trying this one soon! I did a galaxy painting recently, but I didn't get the colours saturated enough so the whole thing was a bit too bright. No worries though, as practice makes perfect :) Thank you for sharing your easy to follow tutorial!
Thank you!! :D That's why layering really helps to darken those colors! It's all in the contrast though, so be sure to leave lighter and darker areas. I can't wait to see what you make!! :D
Hi Yasmina, that's such a beautiful galaxy painting! And very well explained, thanks so much! I was wondering, what would you if you wanted to add something to that galaxy, like a spaceship or an astronaut? Would you mask that part first with masking fluid and paint it once the galaxy is done? Or paint that first, mask it with fluid, then paint the galaxy??
Yes! That's exactly what you should do! Painting around it is much too hard and masking fluid is really needed! But never paint it first, always just lightly sketch and mask first, and then paint once the background is done! I actually did this exact technique in a previous galaxy video with a girl: ua-cam.com/video/gxlpBhaaHBw/v-deo.html Hope that helps, but sounds like you already know what you're doing! :)
whoa I completely missed that vid! That helps me out a lot, thank you yasmina! I've been watching a lot of yt tutorials and recently got my first water color set, so in theory I know how to do this, but reality is so much harder haha ^_^
So sorry Yasmina. I just re-watched this video and indeed no salt! I've been looking into this galaxy painting so much lately, my mind must have been thinking salty options when I watched this. Oops. Thanks for the video. Each video I watch on galaxy painting reinforces the information in my brain :-)
There's nothing to apologize for!! Salt is usually used in galaxy paintings haha! I just saw your gorgeous green galaxy on instagram, you did soo good!!! :D
You mean anyone can watercolor? Here's a free link to the class: skl.sh/2ke4sJH Just make a free account on skillshare and then open this link, you should be able to watch the whole class! :D Enjoy!
So gorgeous but so hard 😭 I don’t know why, not sure if it’s my paint or my brushes, or it’s that I’m a terrible painter, but I couldn’t paint this at all, my colours just wouldn’t blend
Lovely watercolour nebula tutorial, definitely going to have a go at this

Did you use watercolours ??? Just add alot of water to your paint ( if its watercolour)😁💖
