Thank you for sharing this i miss hearing ollie’s stories and seeing him. He was my great uncle got the pleasure to go squirrel hunting with him and shooting a couple times when i was a kid
Thank you for sharing. I bought Ollie's house when he passed away, which was fully furnished with photo albums, etc. I learned a lot about him and enjoyed seeing the video.
I'm with the Fort Tuthill Military Museum in Flagstaff, AZ. By chance were there any photos from his military service in those albums? We have an exhibit of him in our museum and we're always looking for more info to tell his story. Thanks.
True leader in houndsman your living were things were tuff back then and he still did what we love maybe put a plak out were his dogs were so he's remembered nobody wants Tobe forgotten... even good old boys
I have photos of him on his mule in the guest house, as well as books he wrote on display. Even though he's gone and I didn't know him personally, I felt it was important to let others know he built the house and left his mark on the world.
Unfortunately, there were no military photos left with the house. Just a photo album of his 50th birthday with friends, another album with pictures of the house while it was being built (with his wife in some photos), newspaper clippings from the Guinness Book of World Records, etc. I gave the photo album away to someone who knew him personally and others that were in the pictures because I knew he would cherish it more.
Sure old ollie has died but what a joy to listen to those that have been to the trees were still working on. I've had hounds for over 40 years and old ollie brings a smile to my face when I hear him talk. young ones out there filling in the boots if your lucky you might make it to his age thanks to the man interviewing ollie history thanks you
