Shout out to this post on Rav4world for the TacoTunes harness method!

Tbh as for people who are looking to see how you open things it be much helpful..so we can try while looking the video
would have liked a sound test at the end.
I don’t think my phone would’ve done it any justice. It sounds just fine though
The easiest ground is the seat bolt.
yep, this is the only video on installing on a hybrid. this will be my go to video.
Good walkthrough, thanks for the upload!
Best uninstall head unit I’ve ever seen!..
That's the smallest amp power wire I have ever seen. Good rule is to keep the power and ground the same size.
This is how you routed the wires. What about where you put the sub, how you mounted it and what did it sound like when you were done?
Could of grounded it to the seat bolt
Did you have to remove the ac/heat vent under the seat
Thanks mate .. help me install the amp under the seat and we got the sub booming!
I just got my taco tunes harness- is it necessary to splice the wires like you did into 4 or couldn’t I just attach both the positives to the positive and both negatives to negative on harness?
Also wondering the same
Pretty sure you'll be fine
Did that work ... was thinking of doing the same thing
@@yetirider4346 honestly u dont even need the harness or touch behind the radio at all. u can get the signal from either one of the rear speakers at the B pillars. less hassle, less wires. im doing a Bose spare tire sub set up for my wife"s "22 rav4 tomorrow.
Wonder if it’ll work for me I have the 23 rav4 limited hybrid with jbl. I wanna add a sub in addition to the jbl but can’t find any good vids but this helps. Thanks.
Why not just use a bluetooth sub ? It's low freq so the 2.4GHz bandwidth makes no difference
Hi Kyle, Thanks for the video. How did you secure the sub under the seat? Did you use a custom bracket or had to drill into metal under the seat?
I used some stick on hook and loop on the bottom. Holds it to the carpet just fine
Sooo how did you connect the purple speaker wires?
Sorry if this is kind of a dumb question- but how do you like the sound?
It’s alright, not as good as an actual sub in a box, but it does okay. Somewhere down the line I’ll redo the whole system but this’ll hold me over for now
@@K.hinman Have you thought about getting a spare tire sub instead?
@@K.hinman Hey thanks for the video. I had a question regarding the wires under the seat. Does it rattle with the subwoofer? Did you ever do anything to secure wires?
Do you find the 8" subwoofer provides enough bass?
NO
Not really. It’s better than just the doors, but not as good as a separate amplifier and sub in a real box
Incompréhensible. Le titre est en français la vidéo en anglais.
You should never install a sub or any other accessories into the battery if the accessory draws more than 30 amps since it’s a hybrid vehicle. Tips from crutchfeild website.
This unit is pretty low powered at 125w. Under normal load it shouldn’t pull more than ten amps. I’ve also got a 15amp inline fuse by the battery so I’m not concerned about coming anywhere close to a sustained 30amp draw.
