It's so nice discovering UA-camrs you happened to stumble upon are also huge Gaiman fans. I first read him back in 2012 or 13 and I've been in love ever since. Ocean is definitely my favourite of his works - it feels like a warm hug from a father after a bad day. I'm so glad you're loving him so
Anne of green gables is a classic! I just re-read the third book and it brought back memories. In Canada, Anne of green gables is taught in our school curriculum.
That's so cool that you got to read it in school! We don't have any books like that in Australia (that are as widely loved, and set in a local setting)
Could you do more videos on Writing? Like your current routine and how you organize your notes, notebooks, etc. ? I just love to see how other people do it. That would be really nice!
i read the anne series over 2019 and i absolutely loved it, it was so interesting watching anne grow and mature. And even as she got older LMM never stopped with the detailed descriptions of her surroundings which was something i really appreciated :)
I also read Anne of Green Gables last year and it's one of my favorite books too. By the way, I really love your videos. You inspire me to write and read more, thank you!
I love this video. 💙 Thank you for sharing your favorite books. I also love to read books. I just started my channel doing peaceful video. You’re an inspiration!
Fun fact: I started reading Gaiman in 2019 too and read exactly the same of his novels and they're all on my favorites list as well. The ocean at the end of the lane was so amazing, I still think about it months later!
Hahahah wow what a coincidence. I've put Stardust on hold at the library for the next one 😊 I LOVE OCEAN AT THE END OF THE LANE! I can't get it out of my head~
tomorrow i am going to the local book shop to find any of Neil Gaiman's :) and also the japanese one that you mentioned. Thanks again Christy, your videos are magical as always ❤️
I love this video! Now I have a bunch of new books on my tbr list. The best books I read this year were the entire Renegades series by Marissa Meyer. Highly recommend! 🌻🌻
Since you love mythology and Neil Gaiman, I highly recommend American Gods! It's much darker than his other books, but it's a fantastic read and one of my favorite books.
Hello Christy, my favorite book of 2019 and maybe of all time, is The Count of Monte Cristo. If you like Neil Gaiman, i would recommend to check Terry Pratchett. All the best.
Thanks for the video.I think you would really enjoy a book called once upon a river its similar to the first book you talked about. Also if you like Anne of green gables, I would recommend the little princess, the princess and the suffragette and good night Mr Tom xx
I don't know if you've ever read Sarah J. Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses series, but it's seriously my favorite series ever, and I've read a TON. I absolutely loved it and haven't stopped talking about it for months. You should definitely check it out! 😊
I think I need to reread The Ocean at the End of the Lane because I don't think I quite get it. Maybe I'll listen to the audiobook because I just love hearing Neil Gaiman's voice lol.
It is a beautiful image! By the way, what kind of things does the camera use? I would appreciate it if you could teach me. I think it's difficult to tell them what you think about books, but it's a good idea to tell them in detail. Thank you!
@@christy-anne-jones Thank you for your reply! You're using an old camera! If the real person is beautiful, the image looks beautiful even in old equipment!
I follow you since you had around 50 followers on yt.... Im super happy that I have discovered you. I feel like Im your friend even if I have never seen you in my life. Thank you for these books, Ill take a look on it. A huge hug for you :')
Hey Christy, thanks for sharing, I read 3 of those books this year too.. i would like to read everything under. Also could you tell me where to buy or borrow/books in Tokyo Japan, I can't find a single store where they sell English books.
Oooh yay. i love Daikanyama T-site. That has a MASSIVE selection. But the book store I spent the most time in was in Shinjuku. I think it was Kinokuniya (which ever one is above Nitori Shinjuku, on the Eastern side of the station). Tower Records Shibuya also has a really good English books section. Some Book Offs will have a small second hand section if you're wanting cheap ones (especially Shinjuku and Ikebukuro) 😊
It probably depends on your kids' attention spans. The books are quite wordy, but with simple language that sounds really beautiful when read aloud. That being said, it is a picture book. I just gave it a quick google, and it says 7+ 😊 Probably a similar age level to Dr Seuss books. hope that helps!

Once you start reading Neil Gaimen, you can't stop. I recommend Neverwhere. I've lost count of how many times I've read it.
Absolutely. i've popped Stardust on hold, but I really need to read Neverwhere 😊

Which province? Not here in Saskatchewan, unfortunately. Thankfully our parents got us into Anne books when we were children.
@@maslina4567 oh i did not know that! I grew up in Ontario
@@bxoaa What a great book to read in schools...wholesome and appropriate. Such a beloved series. 🙂

Not in Quebec. What a shame! Wonderful book!
You really inspire me to read more! ^^ i'm reading Anne of Green Gables right now and it's amazing :)

Definitely Sapiens and Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari.

Hi Christy, where do you normally borrow your books in Adelaide? Cheers ☺️
I like the Adelaide City Library 😊 Otherwise, I borrow books digitally through an app called Libby!
Awesome. I will check that out when I move over to Adelaide in August. :) thanks Christy!
Have you got Goodreads?
Kinda? I don't really use it D:::::: I keep a list of books I'm reading/have read this year on my website though if you want to see it 😊
Do speak Japanese fluently? Just wanted to know I'm new here..
God, i wish! 😭 I can speak a bit of conversational Japanese. i'm still studying 😊
