I think Carol might be the first person to ever touch Daryl with a kind touch. He allows her a freedom with him that no one else gets.
And he was the first man in a long time to treat her kindly and protect her.
What they have is so special. Even if it never progresses I can’t see it diminishing either. They are each other’s safe space. It’s beautiful

I'm with you Collette. From the second season, I hoped that the show would be brave and have Darryl and Carol be a couple. It always made me feel like their story was incomplete when they didn't but I guess the show runners didn't think it would work. But, their connection was so beautiful and special.
