I repeatedly find myself coming back to this video to keep heedlessness and despair at bay. I Thank you and may Allah bless your efforts, dear Professor.
Dear Dr. Ahmad, Words cannot express how grateful I am to Allah SWT and to you for making this video in such a short time after making the request in the last video. May Allah SWT bless you abundantly, Sir. Now I am off to watching the video. Kindest Regards, Aakash Rabbi
Assalamu alaykum I appreciate your work since this information is not that easy to find and this is a lot of practices to do, for now I'll just focus on the obliqatory practices and do a little extra here and there and not force anything. I guess I have to return the pointy hat and cool clothes and accept the reality that I'm not a sufi shaykh and saying la ilaha illallah 10 times was not enough to qualify for that. edit: What a beautiful way to conclude the video.
Wa 'alaykum as-salam. Thank you for watching. To be clear, I am not against traditional Muslim clothing, in fact I prefer it. Ever since the nine eleven mass ritual, however, it is not usually not advisable to appear in most public places in the full regalia of Muslim garments turbans, kaftans, and so on. In the final analysis, it is not the clothes that make the man, but rather it is the inner contemplative disciplines that are decisive in his formation and transformation. I wish you all the best.
Very helpful books recommended as always. Have you thought about making a reading list of Irfani books written in Farsi🤔🤔. I think everybody already knows the classic Sufi books written in Arabic. With this video we now know some Sufi books written in English. I think making a video for Persian Irfani/Sufi classics would be helpful too
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Do you recommend completing the 125,000 adhkar within a specific time frame? Or should one just maintain a consistent amount per day?
Typically people do 3125 times per day to complete 125,000 in 40 days, but if you have never done this, it will likely be difficult. You can start by practicing this for a short amount of time, say 15-30 minutes, and see how many time you can repeat the phrase. Then chose a number that you can manage on a daily basis. Then begin and complete the daily task always at the same time and place. In other words let's say you decide you will set aside 30 minutes a day from 6:00 AM to 6:30 AM. Then set aside a place for this, a corner of your bedroom for example. Then put down your prayer rug there and sit in the direction of Makka in a state of ritual purity and complete the task. From that point on keep to the same time, same place, same prayer rug, same prayer beads, and same garments until you complete the 40 days. The garments maybe washed in the course of the 40 days as needed.
Salam. Could you please make a video about different sects of shia Islam and the main difference. I think it will be very informative and people would really appreciate that. Thanks. And please make more videos I’ve recently found this Chanel.
Dr. Ahmed, Can you please share, if there are any specific practices that you recommend for Tahajjud? Also, would you recommend Tahajjud if i have incomplete Qadha Salah?
It is important to make up any qadha prayers, but you may do this concurrently with establishing tahajjud. Pray to Allah to help you complete what you have missed and to keep you from missing in the future. Take care of all of this first. Then you may add istighfār, ṣalawāt on the Priophet, & dhikr during the tahajjud time.
@@SaiyadNizamuddinAhmad thank you for your quick reply. I really appreciate your advice and also the video is amazingly informative. I will try to incorporate these into my daily routine. Is there any way, to contact you sir?
I know that within the Qadiri-Bushishi order (the biggest order in Morocco), they allows people to join even if they don't do the five prayers yet. They argue that it's "the path of Beauty" (as opposed to the "path of Majesty"), and that the goal is to give a glimpse of Allah's beauty first to make the muslim *want* to conform to the obligatory prayers. They probably did this to help the diffusion of the order to as much people as possible, as part of the Morrocan monarchy's efforts to counter salafi ideas
Assalmu Alaikum, If we are at a stage of doing the wajibat and are fluent in Arabic as well as versed in Quran recitation, where can we get in touch with a Sufi master?
He never stated it specifically, but he implied in a letter to Coomaraswamy that matters relating to al-Khidr (the Master of the 'solitary ones') were quite close to him. After all, he had an extremely profound understanding of sufism at a very young age (like mid-20 years old), which seems to indicate that he was quite exceptional
As I understand it, legitimate traditional Sufi masters (esp in the Indian subcon) would often give some kind of initiation to non-Muslims in the hope that they would eventually embrace Islam. How true is this? I was also wondering if there are any practices/disciplines/formulae of dhikr you would recommend to truth-seeking non-Muslims interested in Islam. I strongly feel that modern Muslims place too much importance on presenting rational proofs for the truth of Islam, not realizing that true conversion is, more often than not, largely a matter of the heart.
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahamatullahi Wa Barakatuhu. Dear Sheik Ahmad. Thanks for your recent reading lists and continuing to hold a candle in the dark. The legacys of Guenon and Nasr will become more appreciated as we enter deeper into "The Reign of Quantity." On page 156 of Nasr's "Islamic Life and Thought" he writes: "What must be done is to disengage the content of Islamic philosphy from the language which is now not well received and to present it in terms more comformable to the intellectual horizon of our contemporaries. What is needed essentially is a re-presentation of the whole body of Islamic wisdom in a contemporary language." You are indeed doing this. May Allah SWT continue to help you. Please consider making a reading lists of Charles Le Gai Eaton, Rodney Blackhirst and Allama Tabatabai as well. A video of contemporary Muslim female philosophers and their contributions to advancing Islamic thought is also a most worthy project. Salam.
These sufi tariqas just sound dodgy. For example where did they get the 125000 tasbeeh from? Did they just make that up or do they have a source going back to the Ahlulbayt a.s? So they come up with the various duas etc themselves? What about legitimate duas we have from Sahifa Sajjadiya etc? Do all their various esoteric explanations of things have a basis from Ahlulbayt a.s?

Even though it may sound like a lot of stuff to an outsider, it is almost all just common sense to a pious and already practicing Muslim.
