Peter is a genius as well as a master of voice. I especially love his performances of anything from Tolkien's imagination. I also love his duets with Tim: Bridge Over Troubled Water, Blackbird, Greensleeves, And So it Goes, etc....

Peter's wife Evynne is also an accomplished singer, and some of my favorite songs of his are duets with her. Some examples include I see the Light, You Matter To Me, For the Dancing and the Dreaming.

Peter is one of a kind. He has an impressive vocal range so he often provides the bass line as well. He has 3 collaborations with Home Free (so far), and many with Tim Foust, enough to make an album of duets. All stunning performances. His "Lord of the Rings" and "Folk Songs" albums are breathtaking. 😃

I can’t provide a link right now but Peter has done at least one video to demonstrate how he does the layering. Peter has an extraordinary talent and ability! Dan Vasc has done a one man layering of Handel’s Hallelujah that’s extraordinary if you’d like to just hear and see it done.

He is wonderful. He has done many collaborations with Tim Foust, Home Free (and the other members thereof), Lindsey Stirling, and one absolutely beautiful one with Avi Kaplin - 'Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair' - (I may be a little biased, but the harmonies are gorgeous). If you want ones of Peter by himself, I highly recommend Hellfire (from Hunchback of Notre Dame) or anything from the Hobbit.

There are dozens of layers. Some of his songs have more than 100 layers.

Peter has done some work with The Hound and The Fox, some of it with his wife also. This one is beautiful and shows off his talent on all levels!

Peter Hollens is one of the best at layering tracks sometime 100+. Peter Hollins & Home Free "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" is a good example. He has a few Videos with children's choirs "Peter Hollens and 200 Kids Sing A Cappella Style | You Raise Me Up" and "How Great Thou Art | Peter Hollens feat. The All American Boys Chorus". Peter spent some time doing Folk songs like "Loch Lomond", "Danny Boy" and "Greensleeves". Along with his many collaborations, he has done an album "Songs of Middle Earth" and several for the Christmas Season ("O come, O Come Emanuel" is exquisite), show tunes and beyond. The man is simply brilliant. Happy you found him. 😊

Hi u 2, Thanks for the reaction, Peter has A few colabs with H F and A couple with Tim Foust, 1 you have reacted 2 another not, BTW you mentioned that HF sing off was coming , they just released a 10 year anniversary album, Songs they did years ago for the sing off, the album is a then and now on how they sound, may want to do them at same time so you can see what they were like 10 years ago and how they are now and compare, have A great day Bess you. And gratz on hitting 15K.

You should do a reaction video of Peter Hollens with Home Free covering I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. It's great! The best of both worlds with an added twist. Love your channel, so happy to see our sweet Ninja in more of the videos. You're a lucky man.

This is an Ed Sheeran song, written for The Hobbit movies. Peter has a huge catalog of music videos, some of my favorites are with Home Free and with Tim Foust.

All of that layering is kind his claim to fame. When he sings (many songs) with Tim Foust there are dozens of layers of each of their voices. It's pretty awesome.

Some of his songs have 120 layers. Of course you aren’t going to see that many faces, so it is just suggesting that there are multiple layers.

I am a Home Free fan, but I truly do love Peter Hollens.. Such a talented man. He has collaborated on occasion with HF too.. U2s Still Havent Found What Im Looking For. and many more..I think that he started at the University of Oregon with their vocal group On The Rocks where he was the lead singer on the song Kyrie. on the Sing Off (the same season as HF and Voice play and countless others.) If you havent checked out the Sing Off videos.. do yourself a favor and do that! A favorite one is Home Free and a group called the Filharmonics. Just great.. especially if you are old enough to be familiar with the gopher in the movie Groundhog Day lol.. oops.. now I have REALLY aged myself.. oh well..

6:40 There are 13 vocalyst.. Amazing detail.. That song is about The Hobbit film "Desolation of Smaug" ... Smaug is a fire dragon who burned and destroyed dworf city... And at the film, there are 13 dworfs try to come back their homeland (The Lonely Mountain) from Smaug.. 13 Dworfs and 13 Vocalyst.. Amazing..

The "shaker" hands can also simulate rain. Toto's song Africa covered by the Angel City Chorale is a beautiful example.

Any and all sounds you hear in a Peter Hollens video is coming from Peter's body in some form (Usually his mouth)

If I had to guess, Peter probably has more tracks/layers than are being represented by the music video. He's definitely trying to get across the point when there's more or when there's less, but I don't think it's a one to one relationship. He's notorious for layering many many tracks, sometimes as many as 100, sometimes more. I wasn't there in person when he did this, so I can't swear to it, but there's a lot of tracks on this.
