I had never shopped in Zara before watching you thinking it was for young people and now I do at 59 years of age. I have also (thanks to Covid lockdowns) made the decision to stop dyeing my hair. I started going grey around 28 and was dyeing my hair constantly since then, but when the regrowth was becoming so obvious and I was having to dye it every 2 weeks, I suddenly thought, do I really want to be putting chemicals in my hair for the next 20 years and I said no. My natural hair is white/silver and I absolutely love it. It is healthy and shiney and highlights my face and I can't wait until it is completely white/silver. Am beginning to hate the browny dyed ends as they now look so weird and artificial in comparison to my natural hair. I have had very mixed reactions from friends and family and I don't think they are really in favour of me doing it, but I don't care, it makes me happy and I think I look nice and authentic and I actually feel sorry for them as they are stuck dyeing their hair every few weeks in an effort to hold back time.
Thanks to Trinny I now feel the same about clothes and I literally wear what I want, when I want, and if others don't like it then tough. Sadly my daughter died unexpectedly this year, a week after her 20th birthday, and it has made me realise that life is too short. None of us know how much time we have left and I am not going to spend the rest of my life worrying about what others think because in reality, the vast majority of people couldn't care less what you are wearing or how you look so you may as well dress to please yourself and enjoy yourself.
So sorry for the loss of your daughter at such a young age - you are right about not knowing how long we have. Life is indeed too short to worry about what others think of how we present ourselves

Hi Trinny, you are such an inspiration! Today you seem to be calmer, softer than a few days ago. It is good to see, that there are different personas in you - like in all of us. When it comes to me, I am 56, divorced, my daughter just moved to her own home. So it is a complete change of live to me. A chance for change. This speaks to me so much because I'm about to go back into the office and I want to shove all of my office skirts into the trash because that's not me. I bought all these black, grey and navy skirts because that's who "they" want us to be in the office. I am now realizing that life is too precious to pretend to be someone else. My own chosen clothes make me happy. They are colorful and vibrant and can definitely go into the office. I'm happy when I fully express who I am. Thank you Trinny
I lost 84 lbs. Iam in extreme pain related to lupus and fibromyalgia. Everyday I force myself to get up put makeup on and lots of matching jewelry. Even though I may just sit at home I still do it. It makes me feel great. I love wearing bright colors. You definitely see me coming even though still 284 lbs. I make an entrance and I have a lot of confidence.
Hang in there, Donna. I have a chronic, painful problem, too. When I can get in some gentle outdoor walking, it helps my pain, mood and weight struggle. Go easy, maybe around the block to start.

Dear Trinny, I just realized that when you speak so calm about things, which really matter, I have a feeling like I am talking to the elder sister (whom I never had), I mean to the more experienced woman, who I trust, respect and ready to learn from. I just wanted to thank you for your sincerity and openness, you are not a therapist as you said :), but your wisdom and experience are very helpful. Not just in terms of make-up and make-over (though I learnt a lot), it is also about how you think, how you talk to people, how you communicate with your wonderful daughter, how you present yourself. There is lots of authenticity, care and kindness there. Just wanted to tell you that and thank you for your unconscious :) input into my life journey.
I find your way of incorporating trainers to an outfit is incredibly inspiring. I’m a trainers person and I have always find it difficult. I remember one of your videos where you say, wear a pair of trainers for we are women who have to run around all day…I think it’s a revolutionary way to rethink the idea of women in this world. Live in Melbourne and we’ve hit the record of longest city in lockdown! Your video is such perfect timing and have been going through these motions over the past week. Tired of wearing stuff that is no longer my personality. I absolutely love colour and not the norm black attire woman from Melbourne...it’s so bloody depressing especially during our miserable winters. And I feel it suppresses one’s personality. Summer is on its way and embracing the colours that are coming out and some new pieces I’ve invested in that are ME! You always bring a smile to my face....THANK YOU 😃

Yes to trainers/sneakers, no need to stop at white though, I have suede khaki, black leather etc. They go with virtually anything and make it look relaxed, fresh and modern, will be switching out to chunky boots for winter though.

I have littrely give up on buying lovely clothes and trying to buy trainers as I can not get anything to fit me. I am 4ft 10" 6.5 stone and a size 2 in shoes and trainers. so I'm smaller than petite!!.....So that says it all but listening to you gives me hope as now i hardly go anywhere looking after my housebound elderly parents but hope is still there and please continue with your wonderful inspiration. You have helped so so many of us you deserve an award xx

I’m 54 and still love to be fashionable. I still buy clothing I love but not clothing that’s for really young girls. But occasionally I don’t care and wear something that makes me feel good

I loved your takeover shows; loved seeing how happy and confident the women were at the end of the shows. Absolutely wonderful. There are not enough wonderful positive shows made any more which I think is very sad! Also I absolutely love white trainers. I wear them everywhere and with everything!!!! Someone once told me I didn’t suit the lipstick I was wearing- I ignored the comment and continued wearing it!
I did a match to me last Christmas and it was Freddie- a gorgeous colour the nearest shade to my lipstick before-it’s definitely my shade!
I’m now having so much fun with colours

I really enjoyed this. I’m being braver with colour. I have an orange pair and a red pair of trousers and I really enjoy wearing them. I feel more joyful when I have them on. The same with jumpers and tops. I recently bought a knee-length tiered navy dress with white embroidery. I’m planning to wear it with jeans, which is something I’d never have thought of doing before watching you.
Thanks Trinny for this video. So very true about being present and love looking at it through the lens of fashion. I do really believe fashion and makeup can lift your mood and help you to lift your energy. I certainly felt down during lockdown and then looked at what I was wearing. Made small shifts, popped some earrings on a little top and it lifted my mood so much. When you start to feel it, you can be it!

Love White trainers...wear them constantly since I had a knee replacement but funny enough White was my favorite color for sneakers as a child.
Have lost my way in what to wear. Seem to have spent my time in lounge wear for past two years as had breast cancer treatment until end of Jan 20 and then we went into lockdown. Have put on a bit of weight with medication but just don’t know what suits me or what I want to wear anymore! You have definitely given me something to think about xx
You're incredibly brave--I would channel that energy, get incrementally more and more fit and up self-care (including "clean" diet), add colour slowly (soft tones then brighter) and shine your light onto the world.

Hello Trinny, how sad a statement it is when a woman over 50 is left to feel one needs to defend and explain the clothing she finds happiness in wearing. If anyone shames a woman in what she is wearing, they are only trolling. If women aren’t lifting one another up, we are continuing to be a part of the problem rather than part of our own solution. Trinny and everyone else, wear what makes you feel great! It will shine through. People…, Explain nothing on what brings you joy! Feel fabulous at being you. People,…feel good about yourself and spread light. Celebrate one another. The world right now could use less trolls. 🌟💐💗💋

Love the white trainer vibe😀. I have recently stopped teaching in Early Years, where we had a dress code that banned trainers. I bought my first pair of non-workout trainers earlier in the year and they have revolutionised my style! I am enjoying playing with all of the clothes that I have and love, but haven’t worn for work - being with 4/5 year olds requires a certain attire😂Now I have the freedom to be creative with what I have and I love wearing my dresses and skirts with my white leather trainers! I was lucky enough to go to Athens for a few days last week and was able to wear my beautiful dresses with my trainers for comfortable and stylish sight seeing. I have bought black leather and white leather high top trainer to wear as the seasons get cooler and am finding whole new ways to wear my clothes 😁. All power to the trainer💪🏻

Sitting in lockdown in Sydney-even though the weather is fab- I have decided that now is the time to take stock and go forward with a new attitude. Totally agree with your philosophies on life. Yes colour is everything, whatever colour gives u joy GET IT. I am 53 and saw yellow Fila platform trainers in a kid and just loved the colour, so my daughter bought me some for Xmas! Just looking at them on top of my wardrobe everything day makes me smile, so yes forget shape for a while xx

I make my own clothes,so they are very much an expression of my wierd quirky nature. I dont really care what people think. Why should we spend our lives wearing what other people want us to wear,rather than what we chime with?

Thank you so much for this. I am coming out of major changes in life and being on my own. Lockdown especially the last one in winter really affected my mental health and only now changing and trying to go back to the healthier and slimmer old me but with a new slant.

It's spring time here in Oz, clothing is black, rust, tan, white or cream or sage green!, N0 bloody colour at all!! So I'm adding flouro stripes to pants and shirts. Thank God I can sew.
