One word: SPECTACULAR!
All four of these men among the best and brightest America has to offer. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Fantastic podcast! Thanks to all of you and for your service!
👍👍REALLY enjoyed this. Being retired Navy I have seen them lots. But I have never been able to catch the Thunder Birds. They are on my bucket list. Thanks PAKO.
I was trained in Texas and I had a chance to fly as left wingman in the Italian acrobatic team Frecce Tricolori, and I thoroughly enjoyed this amazingly interesting interview. Great job!
Class act all around, dedicated fantastic individuals showcasing their teams that make it all happen. Really enjoyed this video after I had listened to the original podcast. Thank you all for your time and efforts putting it together. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Excellent! Thank you.
One of the best interviews I have ever seen, military or any other. Testament to the knowledge, experience, and humanity that Paco and Rain bring. Long live The Merge(tm).
Outstanding interviews! My compliments.
Well done gentlemen! Great insights from Astro & Fizzle(?). The dedication their roles require is off the charts. And I think most watching this will love the "geeky" stuff, I know I did!
The warthog is the most kickass ground support aircraft ever. Warthog pilots universally agree. When our ground troops hear BRRRRrrrt, they know that enemy sphincters and bladders have just released. No other jet in the US inventory has that effect.
Very nicely done!!
It was referred to as the Viper in the 1980s. I was flying the F-16 then.
Amazing interviews; epic leadership notes for anyone possibly positioned for a leadership position - military or civilian. Well done Phil ("Rain") Mickelson 😀😀 and Pacho.
Really enjoyed the interviews, well done.
Fantastic interview.
Great show - I learned a lot. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the support!
They could talk about who has the bigger landing gear, or tail hook. 😁
I've heard Fat Amy and Battle Penguin for the F-35.
@7:05 to expand on the “Viper” nickname. Based on research into the early history of the F-16 for my channel videos, the name comes from the F-16s status as the first fly by wire combat jet. Pretty advanced for early 1980s technology. The F-16s advanced electronic FBW (for the time) , small size and world class maneuverability (remember, no such thing as a Su-27 or MiG-29 yet) promoted comparison with the nimble science fiction space fighter in Battlestar Galactica. The name of the space fighter? The Viper.
With time Battlestar Galactica faded from the public consciousness and other jets feature fly by wire technology, yet the nickname stuck.
Just for clarification, the viper moniker was in reference to the Viper Mk-II of the original Battlestar Galactica TV series which aired at the same time the F-16 was entering service. As you said, the Viper nickname was more about performance and advanced systems than a physical resemblance. The creators of the original Battlestar Galactica wanted to have visual design elements for the Viper that the audience would relate to historic fighter designs. The nose intake was specifically created to look like that of an F-86 and the canopy was roughly similar to those of early WWII fighters. The Viper images referenced in this video are the Viper Mk-VII of the SyFy channel 2004 Battlestar Galactica reboot. The BSG reboot aired well after the Viper moniker had become well-established. If anything, the Mk-VII viper canopies were made to look like those of the F-16.
What is the theme music that plays during the intro?
It's our own theme music
@@TheMergeMedia it's a catchy tune!
@@scee1871 thanks! We spent way more time than you'd think on it, just to make sure we got the right vibe.
Carter and Biden times sure seem similar. What's the similarity? Who needs law enforcement?
