2:24 That's not my experience at all, might be down to subtle differences, but whilst the XR is very smooth on pickup if you keep increasing the throttle, if you try to maintain a very steady pace at certain speeds between 20-30mph it'll start to jitter and stutter in a way that's extremely uncomfortable and it's even worse in 1st gear at low speeds and low throttles such as making tight turns in carparks, almost always meaning i need to use the clutch. This is only true if the bike receives a tune, but then the high gear torque is insane, and smooth as a baby's bottom.
Everything else is bang on, especially given the engine noise, I always think mine is about to blow up but it never does haha.

Thanks for the comment, bro! Given your experience with the "jittery" throttle at low speeds, it's pretty strange, since I didn't hear from other owners about this issue. Mine is "smooth as a baby's bottom" as you said ;), and my brother's XR as well, throughout the whole rev range You should check the chain slack, and maybe clean the throttle bodies, since there might be a problem with it.
And don't worry about the engine noise, its rattle snakes are just pointing out how angry this engine is ;) Thank you for subscribing and cheers!

@@OneTwoRider Hey, as i mentioned in my case the jitteriness was an issue with tune, it's always done that regardless of stock vs full system and wear in chain. Next time I do valve clearances I'll have a deep dive into cleaning and renewing everything that i can get my hands on, I do have 1 question though. I had some issue where I thought my engine was about to die but stupidly instead of looking around and realising the mirror glass came loose in the mirror, i already tore into the engine looking at the camchain. Now 1 thing I noticed there is that the small sprocket on the crankshaft had heat discolouration on it, and it also seemingly was having less clearance at certain angles than others. Have you experienced anything of the sort especially having used a manual camchain tensioner? I wonder if the upper sprocket the one that my camchain wraps around might be a little bent? That said despite me noticing this about 8k miles ago, engine still runs relatively sweet, but still slightly worrying, a mechanic said that the discolouration on the sprocket is not entirely unusual. I have pictures if you are interested at all, and cheers for the great review, just finishing up your Part 3 right now 👍

@@AntaresSQ01 I didn't notice anything unusual when checking the timing chain. Are all teeth on that sprocket equally worn? Please send me those pictures on Facebook "OneTwo Rider" page to check it. I could also send you pics of my sprockets to compare them..
