    What a great interview... So nice to see all the hard work and effort to make these beautiful products. Keep up the great works folks. So happy with my Bifrost 2, Frea + and Valhalla. Vidar is on its way! Thank you. So nice to see the faces behind the magic you folks created. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with next.
    Stay safe and healthy. All the best.

      Yeah I'm really interested in that. I'd also be interested in a digital eq, even if it has the drawbacks of being digital. It's just so annoying not being able to eq when I use iphone with streaming services, and then the choicees of eq on mac are also not great.

    The Sol was my first product from Schiit . I was so happy to find it because I needed to control the volume of a component that had no volume control. This is right in line with Schiit's strategy of making things no one else makes.

    Two in the hot seats...Did not know that cd album art came from the internet. Funny that it is not part of the digital info on the disk. Here in 2024 it appears that the Urd has not caught fire. That is unfortunate. Such a complex, labor intensive project. The current market offerings for players and transports is rather dismal. $1299 is just above my comfort zone. Would like to see the Urd bloom going forward. Of course with this level of complexity, you reach the "change one thing, change everything" place pretty quickly. I have had a Modi for years and still use it. Just got a Mani 2 and it is doing what I needed it to do. Business blessings to the Schiit Audio family going forward.

    2023 request: so much more SCHIIT has happened since your book, you should release an update! Or, a sequel. "I could give two Schiits." Cutting off in 2015 is like "Pirates of silicone valley" cutting off the apple story in 1997.

    I have Up Close by Ottmar Liebert. Gotta try The Gadget with it. But I like how the album sounds already. XP

    I need a more definite answer from Mike about I2S. Is Unison USB better than I2S? I've pieced together a few of his statements. He once said that BWD is better than I2S and in another statement said that Unison USB is better than BWD. So, I believe Unison USB is better than I2S. But I still would like to hear a definite statement from him.

    i have the schiit modius coming soon , i wounder how it will match up agaist the bitfrost multibit and i also have the gumby so it will be good to see the difference

    • @scottlowell493
      @scottlowell493 Рік тому

      Not sure what YOU discovered but....
      My Modius is a simple delta/sigma DAC. it sounds clean, but not that energetic and leans on soft. It does not really have a big sound stage or crisp transients. A touch polite. Still, excellent for the money. The BF2/64 is head and shoulders better without contest. Soundstage, detail recovery, transients and so on.

    I'm suprised Schiit is making a $1,300 transport. Is this for lazy people who don't want to rip CD's? Or does Schiit believe it is somehow better than ripped files?

    Pitch control, reverse-dialect teleporters, anti matter power supplies, vernacular phrase inversion... but no front power switch? Or a mono amp suited for Magnepan 3.7s? (ie 500 watt stable @ 4 ohms) Or Gumby with volume?

    • @scottlowell493

      They exist now in 2023. Except for the front switch part.

    On your high end CD transport, you guys completely missed the mark by not including an I²S output using HDMI. Very sad.

    • @SolidusSnake142
      @SolidusSnake142 3 роки тому +5

      They said on a previous livestream that they weren’t going to use HDMI because of its proprietary status, it’s very strict control

    • @RoastBeefSandwich
      @RoastBeefSandwich 3 роки тому +1

      I don't think you really need I2S for redbook audio, it's more of a DSD thing. They also railed against HDMI in this video as well. HDMI is not compatible with Schiit's ethos.

    A $1,200 CD transport? I can't wait to see how it brings more to the table than a $100 DVD player. Or Audiolab's $500 all-world CD transport. You guys drifted away from your fan base on this one

    • @jdavis234
      @jdavis234 3 роки тому

      Audiolab doenst have USB output, for starters. Pretty sure your Discman doesn’t, either.

    • @mcgovernjimmy
      @mcgovernjimmy 3 роки тому +1

      I'm in their "fan base" and am especially interested in stuff that provides world-class performance for a fraction of other, arrogant, boutique products. $300 products that are really good are great... but owning something world-class that doesn't cost as much as a car is even better, for me. This is not just something to spin discs. I'll be able to stream thru it and also play tracks from a storage device, via my streamer, computer, etc.

      @@jdavis234 Dude... I'm pretty real and you misread my post or, perhaps I wasn't clear. The $300 figure didn't refer to this transport... it was the idea that the Schiit "Fan Base" is only interested in "inexpensive" products and that a $1,200 product like this is in some way "drifting away".
