I'm a huge Bon Jovi fan, but this was always one of my least favourite songs, they have so many better songs. Tommy's version however, sounds updated and fresh, definitely an upgrade. My favourite Bon Jovi song is Dry County (album version, not tv one), I really hope Tommy will cover that one too some day
