I do love the current state of the game though. It’s been nearly a year since I’ve played and the game has come really far. I don’t think crucible will be fixed today. Maybe improved but I feel it needs at least 2 reworks, 3 if they want to take it to standard. For example, it never should have had the charging mechanic imo.
@Eric Posey I think it should have been separated by 5 stages until the next passive, then you can click each stage which shows the life and dmg modifiers like metamorph. This makes the progress clear while accurately showing the difficulty.
You know what the main issue with 3.21 is? Something not many channels are talking about but Ive seen many players talking about. They have been or have reworked Rare mobs again. Im running into tons of soul eaters. Running into some mod combos that Ive not seen since the AN rework. Seems the "block" they put into place that certain mods wouldnt roll together on mobs is gone. Crucible can be fixed but its not the main issue atm.
The league itself feels from the mob side like Archnemesis and from the general loot like kalandra.. So you got super buffed RIP one Shot Mobs and zero Loot and you can barely make any progress
Sometimes you get worse than no rewards, sometimes you take a great weapon and roll a skill tree that either does nothing for it or actively makes it worse. I had a pretty nice shield for my RF juggernaut that the first node rolled had minus fire resistance (I don't remember the positive but it was irrelevant to the build) and it's like... ya... thanks.
@@Gumlass1 yes you can but the weapon still rolled a shit tree which can't be changed, it just sucks because finding a good item then finding out it has a shit tree is so lame, this season mechanic is just kind of lame in my opinion.
Day one of the league and I was thinking about how I enjoyed playing Last Epoch and just trying out different builds, and making some custom Legendary items . This league is a disaster. Sanctum had a rocky start for me because melee was super hard to play, but the league itself felt good, you could see the potential. But those crappy weapon trees feel so bad. Wow, a 40 % increased grave effect ... and it has a 50 % increased mana reservation for some reason. Yeah, I will rather play Last Epog, where game respects your time and lets you build quite powerful items without massive drawbacks. But hey, POE2 is going to fix melee right ? POE2 is going to fix everything . . right ?
I have never seen such a cool idea from the teaser (skill trees on weapons) butchered this bad so fast....im speechless. This league has so much potential and I was looking forward to grinding it. Guess I have to wait 2 weeks for GGG to fix their mistakes again and again. Absolutely blows my mind how this gets past the first phase of QA testing
rolls + skill bow to have less attack speed off first crucible point.....in ssff......goes EHH now i gotta id "nice attack speed" rare bases again....and hope they dont crucible brick....
Base game feels great. Crucible mobs are unkillable early on, and if you manage to kill the super rare after 5 portals, your reward is “5-11 cold damage, 20% chance to freeze” on your 2 handed phys weapon lol
no the worse case scenario ... your first passive that is forced on an item to even see the tree ... +100 strength, strength bonus doesnt apply ... or cannot chill/ignite ect
TBF i did a few early in sc/ssf just to test out mechanics etc and the league....after some over gearing before i did butcher i did a few on the ledge and managed to land a bow that would crucible at max lvl 3....into vendoring into a unique which wound up being the base/storm cloud. Which then had me at 1.88 attacks per second for my toxic rain which wasnt that bad...or i didnt have to re-use another bow until mapping...as i drop a +2 on kitava.....i 4l it and jump into maps...my first crucible in a map/w that bow....was pretty tuff XD....at 3.2k hp....died like 3x....just to see what the pts..were -attack speed and flat phys XD for toxic rain....and it went from being a 1.77 as thicket to a 1.5 JFC. LMFAO just like that the mechanic is already boning me on ssf off map 1....lmfao. Needless to say im now on grace+DET vs unbound/skitters+malevolence+blasphemy/despair which was pretty fast/ideal for leveling....second you actually get to "league content" in maps....easily jumped to grace+det...due to those crucible mobs...ill probably have to run a jade too vs a granite.
best part about crucible mechanic is that you have like 1 to 2 seconds before mobs activate so you can run away and abandon map when you accidentaly overcharge crucible.
The other thing is nobody is talking about the devourers! immunity from damage in a mob, is by itself horrendous, but if u add energy shield during the borrow animation + a low damage build that mob is impossible to kill... why do these mobs even exist in this game?
Me since 6 Years ... "they dont play thier own game" "they dont test mechanics" "they never learn" i dont even want to complain anymore, like i said, they never learn.
I dont even know why PPL expect these new leagues to BE great on the first week like its been so long, and its allways the same they always have to drop patches to make the game playable its not a ho GGG is making bad decisions nowadays , bro they always made bad decisions sense i can remember
@@franciscoamaral103 yea, thats why im still here, i try to ignore league mechanic, but i still would like to understand whats going on and how they manage to repeat all mistakes almost every league.
lower your expectations remember its a FTP game....and most importantly theres no gacha/p2w or dlc/whales dictating the barrier to entry to endgame. If i see ppl playing HC ssf and doing ENDGAME bossing etc....ill take in their 2 cents about the pros/cons of each state of the game neverthe less THEY still put down massive HOURS regardless. They/GGG play MTG it is what it is theyre LOTR/MTG lore/fanaticals that wound up using some of that "LOVE" to develop an entire game that competes with big name publishers/devs.....then got bought out by 10cent.....and push out massive MTX/constant updates/added content on a yearly basis. Its a working business model off that principle/concept. IT being perfect/good isnt why ppl play it in the first place....they like poe for its adaptability and build/class viability which skill/ascendency etc is ever rotating and constantly, with constant updates and refreshing changes to mechanics that are highly considered improvements over various PAST iterations of the game. As always it/things could always be worse. We have D3 to thank for this perspective.
Nothing like trying the Forge with 9 mil DPS to have the first mob have so much regen that 9 mil DPS couldn't even budge the HP bar. I sat there for nearly 8 minutes trying to get the HP bar to budge and not even Frost Bomb could get the regen below 9 mil a second.
the summon time is prob long...to prevent PK in HC party play.....which is i mean....who TF parties with "RANDOMS" in HC....vs being in discord is beyond me....but hey at least it shows they put some "relative" thought into the mechanic no matter how dim-witted the logic is behind it.
Yeah, You are basically 100% right. Maybe another thing to add - you can actually make your items much worse or even useless by unveiling the first node, which is sad cause you don't see it before. And there is another problem with high tier passives related to specific skill, half of which are probably designed for somebody who never plays the game and are unusable at all. That feeling when who are RF player and you get a fire trap passive and it just does nothing
the way i wish the tree mechanics worked Teir 1 tree - the default tree on an item - random theme but consistent passives once that theme is chosen Teir 2 tree - the combined teir 1 tree of multiple items - some passives from the 2 combined trees as well as some rng mutations that dont need to follow the theme of the 2 trees Teir 3 tree - basically anything else (combining a t1 tree into a t2 tree ... combining a t2 tree into another t2 tree) - similar concept as a t2 tree grab passives from the items your crafting with, mesh them together and do mutation shenanigans -And also as a side note the very first passive thats forced onto your item to even see the t1 tree should never have a downside on it ... the downsides should only start appearing at lvl2-5 where the trees give you the option to actually move around -also also side idea ... remove the limit on where you can put points ... we should be allowed to have more than 1 level 2 3 or 4 passive at the cost of not being able to use the lvl 5 (or 4 depending on the situation) passives on a tree
This Kirac vault pass popup reminds me of Diablo Immortal. But lets be Honest. The PoE we know now is NOT the PoE we used to know. IMHO they make the game worse and worse every league. They dont listen to the Community anymore. Big Streamers have to say "Oh my god thats not good!" and GGG is MAYBE fixing it. idk man... Its more about the money now.
Just another league that I realized ill just be skipping the mechanic so its just the same as the last few leagues. Arch nem sucked, Lake sucked, Sanctum sucked, and now Crucible sucks. Why cant they introduce a league mechanic thats actually fun and rewarding... fml.
Have you noticed the animation below the bar? Those are the actual mobs that are spawning. You see them spawn and then merge and spawn more and merge more. So i a way, you can tell how hard it's going to be by counting how many times the mobs merged. - I also think that is how the mechanics work: two white mobs combine, then two of those combine (with the abilities) and so on. It is bad though that the bar does not show that. But look below it and you will see it clearly.
very true, the only issue is that the progression on the bar does not match the smooth patterning on the merges as well as it not revealing the potential merge count. I feel that this could greatly be remedied if it instead told you the potential ceiling of the amount of xp you get, and then merge accordingly. I feel that if it was just a sort of slider system then you could activate it, run away before they all spawn (or do something while the merging process happens in the area) and then an animation plays whenever they spawn (which it already does atm)
Neversink's idea is actually poor man's Ultimatum, and I'm all for it. Better rewards and the league mechanic starts working slightly like one of my favourite leagues which STILL HASN'T COME BACK? I'm fucking sold. Probably impossible to implement right now without a full league wipe (which I wouldn't be against), but I'd love it. And I guess any fix to how Crucible Trees work would require the same, so we are stuck with the shit passives we got. Best they can do is definitely fix the channeling UI. Crucible will probably be a dead League Mechanic by week two. And a dead league by week 3 and a half. Seriously, they've clearly been separating caster items from non-caster items for a long time, why are we still getting mixed mods into either? This league they've shown this again with the nerf to caster sceptres attack speed. Fucking commit to it and clean the pools, both for affixes and for crucible.
I wish the weapons would get 2-3 nodes each time you leveled it up but you got to pick 1 of them only from each stage capping at 5 stages with a very rare chance to give you an extra point usable on any stage. Then add a currency to let you erase 1 stage to try again. Lots of potential with this but currently you won’t use the mechanic much at all.
Even though I agree with everything, I don't feel right when people assume whether it is easy or hard to fix something. I mean, from a technical point of view it should be easy (considering that we don't see the code as well but from basic knowledge) but we don't consider the time that it takes to fix this. On the other hand, considering that they had 4 months for this development, some things could have been way better.
im also so confused what are those monster... i have 81% max res 90% dmg reduction 50% evade and some mage monster just pop 1 proj on me and im dead with 5k life xD ?
"Takes longer to channel than it does to kill" Maybe if you're a 1 in 100,000 player who can get a mirror tier build on day 3 like yourself or steelmage or ben etc. For average, or even above average plebs this is not the typical experience. Also "These people arent working in game design but work out how to make the game better" Because we're gamers and we know what makes a fun game. I bet most people at GGG don't even play the game. Definitely not to balance test new shit if nothing else. Honestly, I think at this point if they don't care about PoE anymore and just want to work on PoE just resurrect every single league and let people play old leagues over again. I'd much, MUCH rather be playing Ritual, Harvest or Sentinel again than anything they've done in the last 3 leagues
Couldn't disagree more with the base game being a great state. We've had basically the same oligarchy of best builds for 2 years. 2/3 of the playerbase is running the same aura (Determination). Creativity is at an all time low. Crafting still sucks. Gameplay still sucks (and GGG keeps increasing how much we are forced to engage with it). The game hasn't been the same since AN, even with AN removed.
yep I mean theres ppl that still live in delve....bc "added" content isnt worth their time or engaging enough vs the diminishing returns. That in itself is all i really need to know about each lil induction/league mechanic. I go eh at least ppl are still in the mines or POE gives them their vacation from league mechanics while still being able to do an ENDGAME grind/push
I channel it half way early game to not get wrecked by OP enemies. Once my build reaches a good mid-game power spike, I channel it fully. But the "hold to channel" thing is annoying and unneccesary. I Need to clear the whole damn map to channel it fully without dying to nearby enemies. It slows down the flow of the gameplay. Why not click or drag something instead of being stunlocked for 3 seconds? It kinda sucks to get wrecked by enemies while holding to channel, and then get giga wrecked by OP enemies who oneshots you and forces you to portal for flask refills and kite back through the whole map etc, and after spending a lot of time on this, you get no loot at all, and maybe a terrible crucible tree with more negative effects for your build than positive xD
Yeah, i had the same question, like "what they were doing for last 4 months??" Its a basically standard, most standard league ever. You never even notice league mechanic.
Easiest way to SHOW how long you've channeled is just assign 1-10 in terms of factoring - 1 being the lowest and 10 being the hardest rather than the wildly varying amounts of XP per skill node.
I totally agree. Me and my friends are casual players which means we don't have the greatest gear, but we clear map bosses way easier than the damn crucible mobs😢😢. And no rewards too R.I.P
The skill trees on the weapons seemed like such a cool idea. I started cold dot and have cleared up to maven, and this entire league i have not found a wand that i have been excited about. They all seems to roll like fucking ranged weapons. Flat damage on wand, Phys pen, Phys overwhelm, more cast speed when less than 100 int on a fucking weapon that requires int. Wands have just felt like complete garbage, and that they all seem to be designed around kinetic blast instead of any Elemental damage. My favorite was getting a nice +1 cold gems wand and the FIRST passive, was +6 cold damage to the wand and Cannot inflict Chill. Bricks the entire tree from the first node.
The hardest hitting thing is that league appear right after the best league ever. It's kinda hard to enjoy non-rewarding league mechanics right after "rain of currency" league. I'm in yellow maps and strugling hard to get alchs to upgrade them.
I mean I have no problem that mobs are supr hard...quite opposite, make them harder at 100% Crucible. But please reward the players if they decide to fight the mobs for 2-5 minutes with great loot, not with nothing
I just wish that any amount of channeling on a new weapon would reveal the weapons tree. It would still cost a crucible channel, wouldn't apply any bonuses till the first node gets filled up, and let me gauge whether I want to bother with a particular weapon.
a lot of stuff gets fixed a week after mostly cuz of collective group intelligence/information. with all the people playing its obvious that a few would have better ideas for it. i think the leagues would benefit a lot from having like a week long public beta beforehand
definitely idk if you played when they added ascendancies or when they changed from same acts/different difficulties. Those were week or pre launch betas...which IMO garnered good usable data for launch/balancing. Though that beta everyone was playin spin to win berzerker/slayer/jug/raider NGL bc its also when they re-worked cyclone. Still i remember thinking damn i cant wait to roll a cyclone slayer and marauder class.
I really like the idea of the weapon tree. However, the implementation is very bad. I have tried so many weapons now and all of them have such shitty nodes on them, that it's just not worth doing the mechanic. I also hate the fact they most of them come with negatives that are stronger than the positive. Why would I use a "skill node" if it isn't an upgrade. I'm using scepters and I did notice that bows have much much stronger nodes than scepters. Everything in this league seems to be designed for bow builds. I guess GGG really wants us to play bow builds this league. The league mechanic is clunky, unintuitive and monster are way overpowered. I'm afraid that this league will not have the retention and replay-ability like Sanctum and will be over for 60% of the players within a month.
The main problem is with weapons used for either attacks or spells. So wands/sceptres/staves/daggers. Their trees are so horribly mixed. As a caster I can get a +30% atk speed, -20% global damage node on a wand...
atm all i do is try as many t1 crucible mechanic as i want then hoping that one nodes have that mod "sold insert currency"then splitbeast it if its divine or higher tier of currency.I really hope they remove the downsides in t1 and t2 its literally bad in my experience
Standing there waiting already annoys me to hell and back. Also instead of the tree they should have given empty slots and drop the nodes to socket into or sell.
Haven’t played since 2019 I played a build last week on standard. Got all the needed items then I got bored. I’m glad I didn’t get sucked in to try and play this new league.
The only league drop i got till now was by selling a tier3 weapon kekw, and it wasn't a divine. it would be better if you do the mechanic get a drop and then use it on a weapon...
I have an idea. Change the magmatic ore to give only as much experience as is needed for the first node, but make the amount of ores depend on how many nodes are allocated and how deep they were. This way you could use it to check trees on items you pick up. Would feel much better.
This is my 15th POE league and I have come to expect this from them. They do not learn from past mistakes. Almost every league is launched overturned. Lots of leagues start with underwhelming loot. I think it’s on purpose. Make the game more challenging for the best players, then soften it up for the casuals later. How many leagues can you name that were not launched with overturned mechanics and mobs? If GGG had real competition, they would lose chunks of their player base over this mess.
I have no doubt at this point that this mechanic was designed with ruthless in mind. It's not a coincidence the event was held in ruthless this league!! If ruthless keeps fucking up the base game I'm out.
Why should we get loot from fully charged crucible mobs if the loot is suppose to be the weapon and its tree? If you don't like the weapon upgrade reward grab a different weapon until you do. If you get lucky with two weapons and are able to mix two ideal trees you get a weapon stronger than most loot you would receive. The REAL problem is not having anything stronger to use the weapons on. In a few weeks there will be some crazy weapons pushing builds to new heights and that's kind of the point.
the crucible trees were overhyped too, a lot of minor upsides have build breaking downsides like 8% movement speed but you can't use movement skills or a bit of flat dmg on a claw but you can't inflict ele ailments at all. this league is terrible and ggg overhyped. if they actually told us how bad the downsides were going to be i wouldn't even bother with league starting
Just make it loot explosion like a lot of other league mechanics do upon completion, there should never be a league that doesn't drop stuff. Also make unique items able to be used by crucibles way more accessible, a lot of popular builds are centered around a unique shield + wep, wtf are people supposed to do with the league mechanic then?
Funny how every time i see bad implementation like this i could literally see myself testing for less than 5 minutes and seeing what was wrong. Whoever is testing these mechanics every league (if anyone) straight up needs to be removed. There’s no way any human implemented a mechanic where you stand still in the middle of the map for 10 seconds charging up.
It's been really good while levelling so far. Got a power spike because of the traits and I'm blasting through. Can't speak to end game though. Sounds like biggest fix would be to make it drop good currency
I bought a weapon with pretty good stats for the early game but it all got ruined because I accidentally clicked the wrong node and channeled tiny bits of energy into a "+30% attack speed, but deals 20% less damage“ node. The other option was fairly decent for my build.
You can choose the weapon again in a crucible while in a map and use an orb of scouring from your inventory on the node you want to unspec, and then you can start channeling towards a different one. Hope this helps with your weapon!
thing is for me, if i dont have a base to craft on, i just walk by them and thats it normal standard league I wish they made it for armour or jewels as well
You shouldn't have to channel it at all. You should just be able to select out of four quartiles how much juice you want in two clicks. One click for the amount and one click to go
I got a geode today in a regular map Crucible, but they are only worth about 9c and I had been doing every single one I could for the last 20. That's it, I'm done with this league mechanic. Hey Kobe, what happens when you craft a mirror item and find out it's bricked due to how bad the weapon tree is? Then what?
I'm not suprised at all. Last league when they said we'd get a "roguelike" and then we got nothing like a good roguelike I mean they just completely miss the mark. Weapon skill trees sounds awesome, but so did a roguelike league mechanic.
ggg: makes game where the core gameplay mechanic and loop is kill mobs as fast as possible to get loot also ggg: what if we make a league where you can 't kill the monsters and when you do, you don't get loot! we are genius! also ggg: lets add an annoying icon to advertise our overpriced mtx season pass bullshit! our playerbase will love that too!
Crucible is straining your eyes at the bar where half-a-millisecond too long a press is the difference between barest minimum progress and just *RUN AWAY NOW!*
They only test for bugs. They don't test for game balance, fun, rewards, etc. This was something that came out of Kalandra league, and clearly hasn't been fixed.
my build uses uniques, why whould i even bother with the mechanics? to get a couple of "gain 5-10 extra damage, you receive a kick in the balls everytime you attack". or nodes that i already got because they are mandatory for the mastery i need.
I do wish they fixed the channeling clunkiness and the mobs needs to drop loot just in general but I love the mechanic. I've been carrying around wands and shields to throw into them to see what cool trees are revealed. They need to some indicator for mob power other than just the light around the bar growing brighter.
Crucible encounters are great if you can even run them. Pretty sure a lot of newbies got baited with how potentially good ranger build are, but how long it takes to get their tankiness up. I get useful uniques from it often. Experience is feeling good too although falls off later. There are key problems like Kobe highlighted. The unpredictable slow-ass charge, too many bricky passives and how long it takes to get to merging item passives and getting them on uniques. Since I've been slow mapping everything to t6 I don't even know when that becomes possible and how often you can do it lol. At least scour works.
Actually watched the part about Forge of Titans now wtf??? You only get to do unique merging in a special map you have to unlock? There's a ton of unique weapons and shields you only use for progressing 😭 I basically have to buy a revealed item if I want something for my Dawnbreak or Saffel... Which will eventually get replaced with a ggg dps boosting crafted shield. So bad for newbies. This was also the biggest league start they've ever had, meaning newbies and returning players who quit.
Hi! New player here. I enjoy your content. I started at the end of the last Sanctum Season and I brought all 5 of my real life friends to play this game. We even paid for some of the bundles to support GGG. Today I am the only one who continues to play. I cannot understand the reason of Crucible existence. Sanctum had a purpose in your journey. Crucible doesn't feel like this. After about 20 deaths I decided to never open a crucible portal and guess what? I do not feel I am missing anything... but wait... is that ok when you play a new league which supposed to have a specific theme to play...?
It's a mechanic that is not welcoming the new comers in the game. It is very unforgiving for new comers and for low level characters. The monsters are too overpowered for some shitty bonus in your equipment. It felt like it is not worth doing at early stages because the rewards are garbage for too much effort.
What i don’t understand is that you only need to play the league for like 5 minutes and you can already tell most of the issues with it, do they test anything ?
even delve would seem the same....unless someone is in the mines to farm tradable/currency etc.....in a fresh league....i figure most OG delvers will either get over trying to re-gear....or do league content(past) to farm gear to delve harder....when they can just jump into a twinked out char on SC....and do insane depths.....or a level of game play they would rather experience than a crucible league. ESP if it dies bc player base bows out....then there really is NO reason for them to do this grind/trade in cruci if they dont even have much to gain.
After playing Last Epoch a lot, it is so weird to come back and see item tree nodes like : 12 - 26 fire damage , 8% reduced attack speed . Once again we're on the wheel trying to chase non crappy weapon passives, instead of having OP weapons that make you go : wow, now I want to start a new character and try this new build out .
I sure hope the league mechanic will be fixed. As you say great idea and the game is nicely balanced overall so I really want to play a lot this season
So what I gathered from this video, is that this league is basically a repeat of the start of Kalandra league; with tougher mobs but zero loot drops or rewards. I can't wait for GGG to chalk this up to a "bug" or better yet, blame it on that fucking idiotic hardcore mode they tried to implement; where loot drops are almost non-existent in an ARPG that's BASED ENTIRELY on LOOT. You would think, that after the sever and immediate backlash "hardcore mode" received after it was first implemented at the start of Kalandra league; that GGG would know better than to try to start yet another league with zero loot drops or rewards for participating in the league mechanic. GGG better figure out something quick, or this league is going to be DOA when it hits consoles.
It really is, from a ui standpoint the league mechanic is fkn awful, it's uninformative and sloppy. I say this as someone who's done ui/ux design and has a degree in design. As you said its fixable but im a bit let down that they released it in this state, part of me wonders if it was rushed out last minute.
As a "neutral" gamer who isnt "loyal" to any company/game, I find it pretty interesting that it during the Diablo 4 beta ppl where bashing it super hard and constantly said stuff like "PoE is much better, PoE this, PoE that, and after 3 days of a new PoE league ppl are bored and complaining. I didnt play this poe league but I feel like ppl are doing this every league tbh.. Its almost like ppl have made up some happy dream in their head what PoE is and every new league they get hit by reality and they start complaining and quit it within a week..
Like many leagues before it, monsters were over tuned in difficulty, and under rewarded for doing it. It'd be cool if the mechanic even felt remotely like it was play tested before release. I mean, seriously, no slider?
Great idea but horrible implementation. I think it will be fixed by the end of today though.
Great idea but horrible implementation is every poe league ever in the first week lmao
So like every league the last few years?
Copium bro
Right, I kept getting crazy ish at low levels. The kind of stuff you can't even build for early. Mobs one shooting me
Yeah I've been running into random rares that are 5x the hp challenge of the map boss.
The soul eaters are everywhere you are not kidding
cycling resistances, soul eater, frost wall setters, life regen... some combinations are completely ridiculous and end up bricking a build
It’s just league start when your character is terribly geared. When you get some currency and a good build it’ll feel the same.
Aside from Crucible monsters... the normal map monsters seems to be ninja buffed again...
The league itself feels from the mob side like Archnemesis and from the general loot like kalandra..
So you got super buffed RIP one Shot Mobs and zero Loot and you can barely make any progress
I know it is a meme but this feels like a ruthless mechanic. You rarely do it, you feel really weak, and you get no rewards.
Sometimes you get worse than no rewards, sometimes you take a great weapon and roll a skill tree that either does nothing for it or actively makes it worse. no the worse case scenario ... your first passive that is forced on an item to even see the tree ... +100 strength, strength bonus doesnt apply ... or cannot chill/ignite ect
or added fire damage with reduced attack speed on your EA wep.
@@toukoenriaze9870 You can remove those passives by the way, it doesn't brick the item
@@khrishp actually true ... Still annoying tho cuz then you gotta waste a scour and I really don't want to waste those that early
best part about crucible mechanic is that you have like 1 to 2 seconds before mobs activate so you can run away and abandon map when you accidentaly overcharge crucible.
I've honestly been ignoring the mechanic all the way during leveling honestly. It just gives nothing interesting really. Everything else plays fine.
The other thing is nobody is talking about the devourers! immunity from damage in a mob, is by itself horrendous, but if u add energy shield during the borrow animation + a low damage build that mob is impossible to kill... why do these mobs even exist in this game?
They're not pretending, they ARE turning the base game in to ruthless, the damn league start race is in Ruthless mode...
Me since 6 Years ...
"they dont play thier own game"
"they dont test mechanics"
"they never learn"
i dont even want to complain anymore, like i said, they never learn.
I dont even know why PPL expect these new leagues to BE great on the first week like its been so long, and its allways the same they always have to drop patches to make the game playable its not a ho GGG is making bad decisions nowadays , bro they always made bad decisions sense i can remember
The game it self is so good and as só much content that even gatinha everything these conpany does to it we still play it every league
Just remember to not get ur hopes up
@@franciscoamaral103 yea, thats why im still here, i try to ignore league mechanic, but i still would like to understand whats going on and how they manage to repeat all mistakes almost every league.
lower your expectations remember its a FTP game....and most importantly theres no gacha/p2w or dlc/whales dictating the barrier to entry to endgame.
They need to tune crucible monster power down, give more loot and make the summon time shorter! Bloody joke.
the summon time is prob long...to prevent PK in HC party play.....which is i mean....who TF parties with "RANDOMS" in HC....vs being in discord is beyond me....but hey at least it shows they put some "relative" thought into the mechanic no matter how dim-witted the logic is behind it.
That feeling when who are RF player and you get a fire trap passive and it just does nothing
the way i wish the tree mechanics worked
Teir 1 tree - the default tree on an item - random theme but consistent passives once that theme is chosen
Teir 2 tree - the combined teir 1 tree of multiple items - some passives from the 2 combined trees as well as some rng mutations that dont need to follow the theme of the 2 trees
Teir 3 tree - basically anything else (combining a t1 tree into a t2 tree ... combining a t2 tree into another t2 tree) - similar concept as a t2 tree grab passives from the items your crafting with, mesh them together and do mutation shenanigans
-And also as a side note the very first passive thats forced onto your item to even see the t1 tree should never have a downside on it ... the downsides should only start appearing at lvl2-5 where the trees give you the option to actually move around
-also also side idea ... remove the limit on where you can put points ... we should be allowed to have more than 1 level 2 3 or 4 passive at the cost of not being able to use the lvl 5 (or 4 depending on the situation) passives on a tree
And league was delayed to be "properly tested"
the mob is "kinda" strong ahh yes the AN 5.0 with shaper health that drops no rewards and can one tap you
I wish the weapons would get 2-3 nodes each time you leveled it up but you got to pick 1 of them only from each stage capping at 5 stages with a very rare chance to give you an extra point usable on any stage. Then add a currency to let you erase 1 stage to try again. Lots of potential with this but currently you won’t use the mechanic much at all.
Would very much appreciate having a team of more than 5 people working on the next league.
"Takes longer to channel than it does to kill"
Maybe if you're a 1 in 100,000 player who can get a mirror tier build on day 3 like yourself or steelmage or ben etc.
For average, or even above average plebs this is not the typical experience.
Also "These people arent working in game design but work out how to make the game better"
Because we're gamers and we know what makes a fun game.
Isn't that usually how it goes tho? They invent an cool thing, but then make it alot worse with too much added friction and randomness to it.
Sanctum gave us hope..
yep I mean theres ppl that still live in delve....bc "added" content isnt worth their time or engaging enough vs the diminishing returns. That in itself is all i really need to know about each lil induction/league mechanic. I go eh at least ppl are still in the mines or POE gives them their vacation from league mechanics while still being able to do an ENDGAME grind/push
There is always this guy at GGG with spoon of shit for a barrel of honey other people come up with
While the league mechanic is disappointing, i'm bothered more by the trade website being unreachable half the time.
Crucible is archnemesis but it’s rng, instead of manually putting modifier.
I basically look at the mechanic as a convoluted weapon mastery system that could be a passive system, not a whole league.
I have to close my eyes and count, because when I try and watch the bar it goes from 20% to 80% and im dead.
Annoying part is crucible only gives experience on completion. So if you can kill that last guy then no reward for you.
Maybe enable the ability to gain extra loot instead of unlocking a weapon if you don't have one
I thought this league had a chance to be the best or one of the best but hell I have my weapon I don't interact now
Seldom a clean launch. Stability has been good for me, but I can't say the same for the trade site.
If ruthless keeps fucking up the base game I'm out.
poe 3.22 : you now need to chaneling 10 s each passive and atlas node to feel the weigth of leveling
Bro i laugh at these way more then i would like to
Lmaooooo
How are you getting 30-40 million DPS? Your PoB shows 4 million DPS
Can't even tell when the encounter is over, mobs are the same some just widly run away.. search for them
Why should we get loot from fully charged crucible mobs if the loot is suppose to be the weapon and its tree?
Easy fix is to just add jewelry to the items that can be affected... Ill even take a terrible ui with that.
i was constantly at the "i'm fucked" point doing the league mechanic, so i idecided to stop doing it :/ the passives are cool tho
It's been really good while levelling so far. Got a power spike because of the traits and I'm blasting through. Can't speak to end game though. Sounds like biggest fix would be to make it drop good currency
Yes we absolutely should complain about free stuff when it's the hit of crack they're using to sucker you in.
there is a meter at the bottom, the redder it glows the tougher it is
I bought a weapon with pretty good stats for the early game but it all got ruined because I accidentally clicked the wrong node and channeled tiny bits of energy into a "+30% attack speed, but deals 20% less damage“ node.
The other option was fairly decent for my build.
You can choose the weapon again in a crucible while in a map and use an orb of scouring from your inventory on the node you want to unspec, and then you can start channeling towards a different one. Hope this helps with your weapon!
thing is for me, if i dont have a base to craft on, i just walk by them and thats it normal standard league
I wish they made it for armour or jewels as well
You shouldn't have to channel it at all.
Weapon skill trees sounds awesome, but so did a roguelike league mechanic.
ggg: makes game where the core gameplay mechanic and loop is kill mobs as fast as possible to get loot
also ggg: what if we make a league where you can 't kill the monsters and when you do, you don't get loot! we are genius!
also ggg: lets add an annoying icon to advertise our overpriced mtx season pass bullshit! our playerbase will love that too!
Crucible is straining your eyes at the bar where half-a-millisecond too long a press is the difference between barest minimum progress and just *RUN AWAY NOW!*
I totally agree with you Kobe. I don't like this mechanic at all for the same reasons.
This was also the biggest league start they've ever had, meaning newbies and returning players who quit.
the last reward of the free track should be a stash tab or an upgrade option
What i don’t understand is that you only need to play the league for like 5 minutes and you can already tell most of the issues with it, do they test anything ?
mobs should drop frags that you can put in the totem to get harder, best rewards
“What’s it called” counter: 1
I went back to standard after hitting lvl 85 sice its worst than standard coz i alredy have best items in standard to enjoy the game.
even delve would seem the same....unless someone is in the mines to farm tradable/currency etc.....in a fresh league....i figure most OG delvers will either get over trying to re-gear....or do league content(past) to farm gear to delve harder....when they can just jump into a twinked out char on SC....and do insane depths.....or a level of game play they would rather experience than a crucible league. ESP if it dies bc player base bows out....then there really is NO reason for them to do this grind/trade in cruci if they dont even have much to gain.
how the hell do you have 34 million dps 2 days after the league started?
After playing Last Epoch a lot, it is so weird to come back and see item tree nodes like : 12 - 26 fire damage , 8% reduced attack speed .
Once again we're on the wheel trying to chase non crappy weapon passives, instead of having OP weapons that make you go : wow, now I want to start a new character and try this new build out .
Yeah my first forge of the titans map utterly wrecked me... multiple unique mobs on a tiny walkway that are tanky and able to one shot you.
I sure hope the league mechanic will be fixed. As you say great idea and the game is nicely balanced overall so I really want to play a lot this season
It's unfortunate that my favorite in-map league mechanics are Ultimatum, Scourge, and Sentinel, and none of them were retained
League is awful, I have 6000 hours on poe and these mobs are probably the scariest and toughest mobs yet. Rewards are non existentant.
I mean, seriously, no slider?
i killed searing exarch faser than some random purple monster from crucible :D
Idk what kind of people are testing the leagues before releasing it
well i love this league, cause you cant feel missing anything while ignoring it....
Sad but true , if nothing gonna change it will be fast league
