Thanks for your clarification. I suggest next time you start with explaining sunshine before moonlight since you start the host first, then you connect with the client (Moonlight). But over all, thank you for your effort.
Actually I explain the Nvidia Gamestream host before moonlight, and then I explain Sunshine as an alternative. But I see how I might have started with Sunlight. It makes sense too. Thanks for the comment!
Used as explained in this video it's actually pretty safe. I mean, you're opening your PC, but to someone inside your own local network, and that's partially why it requests a pin before admitting that system into it. The only way for it to become unsafe would be if you already had security issues with your own router. There's another video where I explain how to do this remotely (outside your own network) and that is indeed a bit riskier, which is why we use a VPN-like solution for it. Thanks for watching!
Great vid, can I ask you what's the most impactful thing on performance ? is it the network connection (I imagine yes) or processor on the smart tv (or stick) ? I'm sure it's not the PC graphics card since it is not the thing being used to stream. Thanks a bunch in advance.
Hi! For sure, the network connection will have the most dramatic effect. The processor on the TV (or stream device) won't affect much as long as the settings aren't wrong. Something like not enabling game mode on your TV can provoke a lot of input lag if not set. As you said, the graphic card on the host shouldn't be a big deal as long as the system can coop with the game. In other words, trying to stream a game that your desktop can barely run is a recipe for disaster. Thanks for watching!
Hello, im using moonlight and sunshine but when I open valorant my mouse stops working meaning I can't move my mouse. But I can move on desktop or in another app. How can I make it work with valorant. Is there any solution? Like driver or something?
Hi! Unfortunately, this is a well-known problem with Valorant because of its included anti cheat software, which disables virtual mouse as part of their protection scheme. Some people have been able to overcome this apparently by using a software called Virtualhere, but I wouldn't know it first hand since I've never played Valorant.
Hi. Not a big difference, but it is way more comfortable to avoid clicks (specially on a gamepad) by having the game running immediately as opposed to having to hunt it around the desktop. This is specially true for games from an emulator such as rpcs3 or Xenia where having to open it and click around is a bit messy. Thanks for watching!
When I connect moonlight to my pc it stutters wireless and I am right there beside it but when I go in my back room we’re it is hardwired it stop stuttering and setting to help with this please
Hi. It doesn't really matter where the PC is, but where the router that provides the Wifi is? Where is it placed? Also, is your wifi connection stable in general?
Does the new Nvidia app not have this option? I adapted very quickly to the new layout. I didn't want to go back to the old one to make this work and I don't like sunshine....
I'm sorry, but Nvidia has purposely dropped Gamestream from their new app. It's not an oversight. So I'm afraid you either revert back to Geforce Experience or adapt to Sunshine. I think the latter sounds like the best option for your case.
Hi. Do you mean if you need to install the moonlight client on your host? Good question! In theory, you don't. I find it useful just for cross testing between devices in case of issues, but otherwise, sunshine should be all you need.
@@CloudGamingCouch ahh yes. i find the nvidia gamestream is more user friendly imo. So i just need to get the game stream enabled on my gaming pc, and then configure everything on my streaming pc is that it?
Hi. Are you using Nvidia Gamestream or Sunshine? If you're using Nvidia, it might be the time to jump into Sunshine for good. Also I'm assuming you used the correct pin number.
Ah I don't think that's a driver issue. It's a problem with the new nvidia app, where they dropped Gamestream as I mentioned in the video. Just use sunshine and you'll be fine. Since I changed I haven't looked back.

I'm not exactly tech-savvy, but I am curious. Does using sunshine expose you to any security risks? If So, what are they?

@@CloudGamingCouch Thanks a bunch for the reply man, I will go for this for sure. I will remember to update everyone here once I do!
Could you make a tutorial on how to connect to the pc from anywhere cuz I want to play games while travelling
It's definitely planned! Hopefully that one will come soon. Thanks for watching!

is there a difference between giving access to the desktop then open the game vs directly set the game in Sunshine ?
