I tend to be hyper sensitive to bass and other people playing music even if I can just barely hear it and even if they're not playing it at the moment I`m anxious that they will again. Hard to avoid and I keep getting in conflicts with neighbors over it if it goes on too long. Is this misophonia?

I have never found exposure to help with misophonia. The only thing that helps me is to avoid the soumds

Yeah with Misophonia it seems managing it works better. Like ear buds sometimes or if need be avoid it. I suppose though making sure to not over avoid that a person can’t handle a sound at all..

@@OCDWhisperer I also wonder if my being Autistic and my having extreme sensory processing disorder makes my misophonia much more severe. I also have very severe Tinnitus. I have heard that certain types of Tinnitus and misophonia are related.

@@Rollwithit699 interesting question- to be honest- I don’t know unless I do an assessment.

How to cope with ocd and loved ones loss??

Hi. I am sorry for your loss. That is a big question to be able to deep dive into it on this platform. I would suggest check out iocdf.org for more OCD resources near you to work with a specialist who can help navigate all things that I can imagine may come up.

This sounds like professional help will be beneficial. Perhaps an OCD specialist and grief support.

Something that's kind of interesting about this is from the other side. My husband has Misophonia and I get irritated that he gets irritated at our son for chewing. At times it's made me feel like he can't tolerate normal human behavior which feels hard because it's just eating. Everyone does it. Makes me want to call HIM out when he's scarfing down food or burping.

Yes things can be nuanced. If you know you are dealing with mysophonia- just remember it’s not on purpose or with ill intent.
