Check out my shorts how to overcome sin as a Christian is my burden for the church...not enough clarity I think it typical Christian circles as to what our role in sanctification is...I see the scriptures saying we overcome sin the same way we got saved: by grace through faith...and telling us in no uncertain terms to NOT try to overcome sin by the law...so what does it look like to overcome sin by the Spirit?

Gal 5:4 is referring to works of the Law not good works, in this case it is circumcision,
You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
For through the Spirit, by faith, we wait for the hope of righteousness.

If you want to know what we must do to stay in Gods Grace if we sin, if we do not live him enough here it is,
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all. *If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth; but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.* If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
*If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.*
If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
My little children, *I am writing this to you so that you may not sin; BUT IF ANYONE DOES SIN, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;*and he is the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

      You don't get "re" anything.
Sanctification is the process of falling down in sin, getting back up through faith and forgiveness. Until the heart is completely transformed and there is no more transgression.

Yes, but not willfully or knowingly most of the time,we as true Christians we can not take pleasure in sin anymore we hate sin.therefore we should not fall into bondage to it.because of Gods Grace>>, christ finished work being carried out by the holy spirit in ourlives by that Faith only Gal 2:20 rom.8:2 gal 5:1 1cor1:18 the problem is Christians do not like to exercise faith when we must to walk this walk. We must Fear God which its the beginning of wisdom and have a heart of Thanksgiving to go with it.we have to overcome eachday by faith in His overcoming work. His righteousness. we cannot produce it on our own. The just shall live by Faith why cuz sanctification is a continue work we still have a free will, the flesh and a sin nature. Grace through Faith" continually". not a one time deal .thats what the galations thought so did the corinthians. That's why paul brought the revelation the message of the cross .same faith that brought you in is the same Fath that will keep you prefect standing in Christ.

@@UpholdersoflightMinistryactually, He is just and faithful to forgive and to keep us. Of course, we shouldn’t sin, as it does grieve the Holy Spirit. But, that will not prevent you from going to Heaven.
Jesus payed the price for our sins, what does that tell you? He did all that for my sins to still send me to hell?
No. It’s the rejection of Jesus, and only by that, in which we go to hell. You seem to be stuck in the Old Testament, where sin separated us from God and we needed sacrifices to keep ourselves “clean” of sin. Fyi Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice, Himself, so that we may not be separated anymore. He literally died for the sinner to go to heaven, so long as they repent and believe in Him. “Go and sin no more” doesn’t mean if you do, you’ll go to hell. No, simply, He wishes for us to not live sinfully but rather live holy lives like He did. And if we backslide, He will forgive us.
Half the men God uses in the Bible were imperfect and unrighteous, but He still used them and was still faithful to keep them.
What was Jesus’ favorite kind of person? Was it the holy Pharisees? What about the pure virgins? No? Maybe the most innocent of children? Try again. It was sinners. Jesus spent nearly all His time reaching for and preaching to sinners. If sin sends us to hell, then His death would’ve been in vain.
Also, when He says “I never knew you” he’s actually speaking to false preachers and profits, whom seek glory for themselves but use the name of Jesus to mask their own selfish desires. And, those who only accept Jesus just “to be sure” but deep down they have no desire to know Jesus, and continue to live evil sinful lives. Those are the kinds of people whom He “never knew.” Not the sinner. I mean come on dude, His entire mission was FOR the sinner.

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? (James 2:17-22)
Is it any wonder why Luther wanted to get rid of the book of James? Because it contradicts faith alone as a good. If you have faith, you won’t just talk it, you will show it.

Hebrews, like Galatians, is written to Christians who, like all of us all the time, were struggling with sin, and being tempted to turn to the law to deal with their sin. Keep Galatians 3:3 in mind when studying the book of Galatians - “having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh?" Galatians is about sanctification, and the answer of how Christians are supposed to
overcome sin is explained well in chapter 5, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; you are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith."
Similarly, Hebrews is written to Christians. By the time you get to chapter 10, which you quoted, there have been many chapters of comparison between Christ and His sacrifice for sin (New Covenant) & the priests and their sacrifices for sin (Old Covenant). 10:4 says the old sacrifices could never take away sin, 10:10 says our sins are taken away once for all by Jesus' sacrifice, and 10:18 says there is no more sacrifice for sin, which is really significant...when we (Christians) sin, there's nothing we need to do to, and there's nothing we can do to "deal with" that sin. Hebrews 10:26-31 is not a condemnation of Christians who sin, but of Christians who sin & seek to justify themselves - a Christian who needs more than the finished work of the cross to live an imperfect life and fight to overcome sin with a clear conscience is "insulting the spirit of grace" & "treating the new covenant as imperfect/unholy".

That whole section clearly states that those who continue sinning without repentance. Which is not simply apologizing and continuing. It is to turn away from sin.
    Do not inherit the kingdom.
Happy to explain further to any who are confused
As you can see the verse you handily quoted is part of a lesson where he addresses your claim directly. So in your misunderstandings and attempts to lead others astray you handily gave them the key to truly.understand your claims are false. For that on behalf of the lost sheep who came to you for guidance but found falsehood. I thank you
If you have to use single verses instead of the chapter or at least the preceeding and proceeding verses to defend your view then you are cookie cutting and taking christ down to resemble what you want him to be.
You dont have to interpret. The word interprets
Let all bare witness! Impliment the rule of the Divisive in this case!
It is an undeniable fact!!! That not a single verse contradicts another in the word!! Of that there is no argument.
So, via the fruit of this person!! Showing that they do infact use verse to argue verse! Which is something only pharisees and the devil did in order to trap!
I wholeheartedly welcome you to present any misunderstood verses that made you think you could go on sinning and think you are saved. But realize they will be kept public for your betterment as well as everyone elses. I will wait .
    1 Corinthians 6:4-11
    New International Version
4 Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church? 5 I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6 But instead, one brother takes another to court-and this in front of unbelievers!
7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8 Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
That is the entirety of that scripture very clearly stating in the same section in the same chapter that the unrighteous will not.inherit God's kingdom.
12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say-but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”-but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”[b] 17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.[c]
18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies

Correct. He will never leave us nor forsake us. We were sinful when Jesus saved us and made us God's children. And no one can pluck us out of His hand. If we did nothing to earn our salvation but instead believe in Jesus that he paid for our sin, how can we do anything to keep our salvation. Where is boasting? Jesus did it all. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us: For it is by grace that you are saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not by works lest any should boast.

This doesn’t match up with the God of the Bible. Because many are called, but few are chosen. God is going to remove the chaff from the wheat. Remember that the chaff grows in the same field, uses the same water and dirt as the wheat. But it is a useless plant, because it bares no fruit. As a person that was raised in church and had followed after Christ Jesus, I absolutely know I would have gone to hell if I would have died whenever I was in rebellion and following after my flesh. But by Gods grace I didn’t and I was given an opportunity to return and live my born again life.

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
      ~
And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. Matthew 18:6-9
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. They are mentioned because they make you unclean, meaning you do infact lose salvation in the moment you do them. Ephesians 5:3-7. if you dirty your robes, then you must clean them through the blood of Jesus. Your daily bread is the Word Of God(Bible), your daily drink is daily repentance(Blood Of The Lamb), whether it's continued or renewal. There is a Cup Of Salvation, and a Cup Of Wrath and how you live you life is basically which cup your drinking from. But ultimately, Jesus is the searcher of hearts, he will know faithful repentance from unfaithful repentance.
      Revelations 22:12-16
12 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
      Matthew 7:21-23
      True and False Disciples
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
So if all we need to do is believe why does Jesus mention we have to follow his fathers will. Jesus says himself he didn't come to abolish the Laws and the Prophets, but to fulfill them, and clarify on the commandments, like how hating your brother is equal to murdering them, And looking upon someone with lust is committing adultery.
      Jesus said in
      Matthew 22:36-40
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
      Ephesians 5:1-20
1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person-such a person is an idolater-has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible-and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said:
      “Wake up, sleeper,
      rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
15 Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our sin does not make us unclean anymore. Hebrews 10:1-4 “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.”
10:11-14 “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
Since we can no longer be made unclean by sin through the once-for-all sacrifice, Hebrews 10:22 “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

@@stephen_exley Jesus died on the cross for our sins, we know that, so in the same fashion what can you do as it states in Hebrews to take away your own sin, no offering on earth is good enough except him who died for our sins, this makes us have to follow his teachings and Jesus says go and sin no more. Even that woman with great adultery went and sinned no more, so why can't you? Why drink from the cup of wrath? Because surely that means you aren't drinking from the cup of salvation, Jesus says to take up the cross and follow him, we must live a life like Jesus, sin is condemnation.

But I have to say that I've met many Christians who continue to live in their sins and have no intention of changing because they don't want to be seen as doing "work". There seems to be a dismissal of personal sanctification through Jesus Christ as a direct result of the statement made by Paul in Ephesians 2:8-9. Paul is correct, that it is ultimately the grace of Jesus Christ which grants salvation but I find it fascinating that so many are unwilling to actually follow the example of the Savior. To me it seems counterintuitive to embrace sin out of fear of being judged for works .

Romans 6:3-4 (and many other passages) say that when we put our faith in Jesus we died with Him and were raised with Him. Paul goes on in Romans 7:1 to say “the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives” and is verse 6 “But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” Back to John…if we define sin as the transgression of the law, and we died to the law, then it makes sense actually when John says in 1 John 3:9 “Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” Far from being a license to sin, this truth is the power to overcome sin, which is what this video and this channel is about. No one that practices sin will make it to heaven. Doesn’t matter how many times you say forgive me, or I’m sorry. Jesus Christ came and died so that we can be born again and transformed into His likeness. If we aren’t being transformed into His likeness which includes not sinning then we’re not a Christian. And there are more people claiming Jesus Christ, then people that Jesus is actually going to claim Himself. Jesus Christ is only coming for people that He knows. Not people that claim to know Him. Remember there are 2 judgements one by the Father and one by Jesus. And if you make it to Jesus judgement it doesn’t mean you make it to heaven.

1 John 1:7 & 9 are talking about the point of salvation, not something continual. You can't apply verse 7, "the blood of Jesus his son cleanses us from all sin" to be something done every time we sin, it is DONE at the point of salvation. Look at Hebrews 9:25-26 "Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enters into the holy place every year with blood of others; for then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now ONCE in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself."
And again in Hebrews 10:1-4 "For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins." And 10:11-14 "And every priest stands daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: but this man, after he had offered ONE sacrifice for sins FOR EVER, SAT DOWN on the right hand of God; from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by ONE offering he hath PERFECTED FOR EVER them that are sanctified."

so - everyone whose ever said sin is what will stop you - is wrong, and always have been. Especilly the ones who sure, worked with what they understood - and were caring in their own way - but attacked others like me, for being gay - by pulling 5 or less quotes from the entire book as 'proof' we should stop it, when we dont have a choice in our attractions, or who we love - just like straight people dont.

So I sought after God, and He completely delivered me from the lust of the flesh. And I’ve been happily married to my beautiful wife for almost 8 years now. You may not having control over who you are attracted to, but God has power over sun and the flesh. You will not make it to heaven if you are living in homosexuality. But thank God I know for a fact He will deliver you from that sin and give you the mind of Christ if you follow His truth. I will be praying for you. And if you need any help or advice let me know. I recommend you look over 'God and the Gay Christian" by Matthew Vines, and "The joy of being gay" by Thomas Krahn - both pretty interesting reads - the first having many positive reactions by other christians and theologians.
And the simple fact, is that 'homosexuality' wasnt in the ancient hebrew text - and the bible at most, says "bad" talking about the sexual acts themselves - not the love I have for men - so, yeah. Jesus died for our sins, so if anything, Im covered anyways.
And youre forgetting the parts in the bible, where it says sins are simply like 'addictions' that wont keep us believers in Christ from heaven - but the addictiveness for nonbelievers - is what keeps them from heaven. That is a real psychological thing that the Bible is talking about. No one will make it to heaven while living in sin. And if you are in a same sex relationship then you are living a life that God sees as an abomination. You are literally spitting in Jesus Christ face while He is on the cross if you believe that you can be the same person before receiving the Holy Spirit as you are after. All lust and sin are bad, not trying to call you out in particular. But you cannot live like that and say God made me this way. The Word says that we are born into sin. So you were born broken and you having same sex attraction is part of that broken part. And trying say that I was bisexual, so it isn’t the same is ignorant. The problem with same-sex attraction, or the feeling of “being gay,” is that it is an attraction to something God has forbidden, and any desire for something sinful ultimately has its roots in sin. Our natures have been so infected with sin that what is evil often looks good to us. Sin causes us to see the world and our own actions through a warped perspective. Our thoughts, desires, and dispositions are all affected. Scripture says we are sinners by nature (Romans 5:12). So, same-sex attraction, per se, is not always an active, willful sin, but it springs from the sinful nature. Same-sex attraction is always, on some level, an expression of the flesh, or the fallen nature.
Sinful human beings living in a sinful world (Romans 3:23) are pelted with curiosities, interests, and opportunities that would lead us further from God. Our world is filled with forbidden fruits, including the enticement to “be gay.” A happily married man can be suddenly smitten with attraction for his new associate and wrestle with those feelings every day. A sober alcoholic can struggle with the ongoing desire to drink, even years after he becomes clean. Those desires do not represent an active choice to sin, although they stem from the sinful nature. They are part of being a fallen creature living in a fallen world.
Some people, who admit to having thoughts of “being gay,” are, for a variety of reasons, not romantically attracted to members of the opposite sex. Instead, they yearn for intimacy with someone of their own gender. The causes for this same-sex attraction, humanly speaking, are varied and under discussion, but the fact remains that this temptation is real. Many who struggle with same-sex attraction report suffering through years of wishing things were different. People may not always be able to control how or what they feel, but they can control what they do with those feelings (1 Peter 1:5-8). And we all have the responsibility to resist temptation (Ephesians 6:13). We must all be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2) and “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
The second part of this question, “is it sinful to engage in homosexual activities because of same-sex attractions?” has a more straightforward answer. Being drawn toward a morally forbidden relationship is not an active sin; it is a temptation. Sin occurs when we dwell upon the wrong thoughts, the temptation spawns, or when we yield to the temptation. Feeling a same-sex attraction is not an active, willful sin, but yielding to that proclivity and engaging in homosexual relations is.
Our culture assures homosexuals that they were born gay and that confused sexuality is to be celebrated, not overcome. Thus we have an entire generation of children and teens who never knew a time when homosexuality was rightly considered abnormal. In elementary and middle schools, it is now fashionable to call oneself “gay” or “bi” or use any number of other faddish sexual labels without any real understanding of their meaning-or of the moral and eternal implications.
We are all sinners, born with a nature that wants only to please itself. The sinful desires within us vary from person to person, but the root is the same (Romans 3:11). When we realize how broken we are and that we cannot have fellowship with a holy God in such a deplorable condition, we gratefully accept the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). He paid the price that we owed to God for our treason against our Creator. He also paid the penalty for the sin of homosexuality, just as He did for pride, rape, adultery, and theft. Those sins, and a thousand more, are what keep us from God and sentence us to an eternity without Him. We cannot continue to define ourselves by the very sins that crucified Jesus, while also assuming that we are right with God. First Corinthians 6:9-10 lists many of the sins that the Corinthians once practiced (homosexuality is on the list). But verse 11 reminds them, “That is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” In other words, some of the Corinthians, before they were saved, lived gay lifestyles; but no sin is too great for the cleansing power of Jesus. Once cleansed, we are no longer defined by sin.

The son had to return on his own. And also if the son would have died while in a foreign land he wouldn’t have the opportunity to be receive the forgiveness and gifts from the father. Even though we know the father loved and had forgiven his son, the son would never have received what was already his if he didn’t return and stay in the fathers house. You say people who truly have the Holy Spirit will not sin - read the sermon on the mount. Have you looked with lust? Have you been angry with a brother? Do you love your enemy? Do you love the Lord your God with ALL your mind, heart, soul and strength? "Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?" - Galatians 4:21

Those verses are not an excuse to still sin. We should try not to sin with God’s help. You are misleading people by saying they can sin and still go to heaven. No. You can’t. Yes, they are not an excuse to still sin. I do say in the video that we are called to overcome sin. You say Christians can't sin and still go to heaven? Are you without sin?
We should repent for whatever sin we do, but this does not affect our standing as born again, new creation Christians. If fact, the truth that it does not affect our standing, is the power to overcome sin. And that is what this channel is all about, and this video is a piece of that. Having the proper interpretation of this 1 Cor 6 passage is a piece of that. Grace is not an excuse to sin (Rom 6:14-15), but why would Paul even have to say that if what you were saying was true?

Of course our sins matter, but there is no condemnation. We are not called to overcome sin for God's sake, we have peace with God, He made us new creations, born again of His righteous Spirit, and He has made His home in us. We are called to overcome sin for the sake of others, that our message of reconciliation which He has made us ambassadors of cannot be spoken against. That may seem like a subtle distinction but it is the power of God to overcome sin. He is with us, on our side, in our corner, working on our sin WITH us, so we can be effective co-laborers WITH Him, in the harvest that is plentiful. Our position with Him is unchangeable, incorruptible, undefiled, because of His grace.

      @stephen_exley Luke 9:62
62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
Have you forgotten that Jesus said those words, and all his parables announce the coming condemnation, The Parable of True and False Disciples mentions even though people know who he is but doesn't do the will of The Father In Heaven, they will be condemned, saying twice with Parable of the Sheep and Goats, Goats can be mistaken for sheep but they aren't sheep, and the goats will be condemned. In the Parable of the Sower, he mentions weeds and Grain, and the grain in good soil is clear by its hold on the Word Of The Lord, everyone who hears the word and keeps it and honors it, is like good soil, so in the Parable of wheat and weeds is in likeness, the grain will be saved at the time of harvest, and the weeds which were sown by the enemy will be sent into everlasting fire. If you read the letters of Paul properly you will find they also mention that there is in fact condemnation.
