“Through Time” Solo made extreme demon by me! (220+ hours of work!)

- After over 220 hours of work, I can finally say I’ve finished my best level! This has been a non-stop grind for the past 3 months, and I have a lot to say, so this description will be pretty long lol
It all started with the song Time Leaper, a song I love and have listened to for years! The name itself, “Time Leaper”, then gave me a little idea for a GD level, time travel!
The level is themed around being a test subject to try out a finished Time Machine, just to confirm it’s safe before others have access to it. You start out in a laboratory, enter a Time Machine, and then go on through different ages of time, and then end back in the laboratory! I actually came up with this idea back when I was in the early stages of building Eruption, and even though Time Leaper is an overused song, I instantly new this was gonna be my next level!
Now about actually building the level: A few days after I finished Eruption, I started the layout of this level. And I built the layout in ONLY less than a week and a half! And yes, I did rush the layout too much, and I’ll spend more time on the layout for my next level lol (I’m still deciding what my next level will be🤔)
After the layout was finished, the lab part got off to a pretty slow start, but I was happy with it! (Even though people thought it was by far the worst part😭) Then the space part came way easier than the lab part tbh, I really liked how the asteroid design looked, especially seeing it compared to Cosmic Dash! Than at the end of making the birth of Earth part, something really frustrating happened😭
For some reason if you go further back in the level to play the part, many of the asteroids just flew around in the most random spots, and it looked terrible! Thankfully I found a solution to this part without losing any visual quality, and it worked out great, but it still took a few hours to fix and made me think I might have to remake the part lol
Then the dinosaur age part got of to a REALLY slow start and took very long to get the backgrounds set up. The part looks a little messy, but I was fairly happy with it.
And one thing I must say about the whole dinosaur age part is that each dinosaur design took REALLY long to make! The T. rex especially probably took about 4 hours lol but I really like how it ended up.
Then for the shark part: I actually really liked how the design of the shark looks! Unfortunately, the block design I made for that part kinda sucked and that ended up being one of the worst parts in the level😭
Then there’s not much to say about the stone age part, that part went fairly smoothly although that alligator that’s on the screen for less than two seconds was quite a pain to make lol
Then next was the medieval part, the castle and the dragon took a really long time to make, especially making it a boss fight, but I was really happy with how it ended up! And then once I got the designs for the part layed out, the rest of the medieval part building went by pretty quick actually.
Alright, time to talk about the 50th century part. I got a lot to say about this. I went through several block designs in this part that I completely just deleted forever😭
And yeah this part is my least favorite part of the level😭 Anyways, I’m hoping that everyone else in the world will somehow find some sort of charm in that part that I don’t cause I’m just not very happy with that part lol
And finally, the Earth evacuation part. I went from making the worst part of the level and being demotivated to making possibly my favorite part of the level, and being really motivated! All I can say is space parts come way easier with the 2.2 editor lol
And that’s pretty much it, of course there was building the end screen and adding LDM and a few things like that, but I don’t have much to say about those!
I’m quite happy with how this level turned out, it’s actually just like the level I imagined in my head a few months back while listening to Time Leaper! The optimization isn’t quite as good as Eruption, but I still think it’s fairly good for a level of this length. It feel crazy to finally have this level finished!
Now about the verification! I’ll be self verifying this level! It’ll be a bit stressful, sure, but I had some good memories when I streamed and verified Cosmic Dash, and I’d like to do that again! I actually have 35% and 48-100% on the unbuffed version of the level, but I wouldn’t exactly count it because of course, it’s the unbuffed. The unbuffed is probably an insane demon, but now I think it should be an easy extreme. Btw I have 89K attempts on the level just from building it😭 But I’m really excited to stream verifying this, y’all stay tuned for that!

THIS LEVEL IS INSANE. When i was younger i had this idea for a level but couldnt execute it. SEEING SOMEONE DOING THAT IDEA THIS WELL IS INCREDIBLE. (also if you have the time, can you consider joining a collab hosted by exvinity for the ncs gauntlet? if you dont want to its completely fine).
