its unbelievable having spent millions on the fantastic upgrade to the sea wall that network rail could not give the old bridge a lick of paint .

I know they are repainting the station next year, so hopefully the bridge will get done too

There'll always be people who'll complain about something, eh?

The viaduct was shot blasted and repainted a few years ago with a paint which was surprised to protect it from rust forupto

I will attempt to Finnish my statement above:- The last paint job was supposed to last 25 years but the elements have proved to have won that battle. A replacement is on the cards but the state the network rail funds are in sees that job put back and there appears to be no chance of anything being done in the foreseeable future.

The Hitachi trains have finally ruined the experience of travelling along this scenic route.

Just compare the Hitachi trains with BR Mark 1 stock running on B4 bogies.
Large picture windows with a low sill.
A good and unobstructed view out of the train from every seat
      The windows can be opened
      Comfortable seats with proper cushions
      Spacious interior with good legroom
      Smooth and steady ride
Pleasant ambience with timber panels and warm lighting, not over-bright
      Individual reading lamps
You can easily check this for yourself as there is plenty of mark 1 stock running on preserved railways. There is no comparison.
