I will attempt to Finnish my statement above:- The last paint job was supposed to last 25 years but the elements have proved to have won that battle. A replacement is on the cards but the state the network rail funds are in sees that job put back and there appears to be no chance of anything being done in the foreseeable future.

A good and unobstructed view out of the train from every seat The windows can be opened Comfortable seats with proper cushions Spacious interior with good legroom Smooth and steady ride Pleasant ambience with timber panels and warm lighting, not over-bright Individual reading lamps You can easily check this for yourself as there is plenty of mark 1 stock running on preserved railways. There is no comparison.

its unbelievable having spent millions on the fantastic upgrade to the sea wall that network rail could not give the old bridge a lick of paint .
I know they are repainting the station next year, so hopefully the bridge will get done too

The viaduct was shot blasted and repainted a few years ago with a paint which was surprised to protect it from rust forupto
