- This is my list for top 12 favorite steam locomotives, please don't comment on why a locomotive you like isn't on the list, this is my personal list of favorites from years of railfanning. Enjoy!

Thanks, I have loved #12 ever since I first saw her in 1991.
Also the thumbnail I think can be very convincing. It looks real. Wish it was.
My favourite steam engine is union pacific 844. And thats a very cool and interesting list!

Man, Agrirama. Brings back memories of some awesome elementary school field trips in South Georgia the 80s. It was a great time and place to be a young railfan. I was lucky my dad was into trains too. The Norfolk Southern steam program...pretty amazing to be in the passenger seat pacing the 611 and 1218 as an 8 year old kid.

ET&WNC #12 was the first locomotive I rode behind, since then I’ve ridden in her cab twice.

What's very cool about Tweetsie Railroad number 12 is how powerful she is for a 10-wheeler locomotive she's capable of pulling the entire passenger consist without any trouble
