Kirby works so well because he doesn't take any of this lore seriously. "Bad people hurt friends, Kirby or land." "Kirby eat bad people." Simple.
Yeah, Kirby himself is not too interested in the lore, all he knows is that evil people are causing everyone distress.

It was eye-opening when I realized Luffy from One Piece followed a similar logic.
My favorite bit of that is in the opening to Kirby Fighters 2 when Dedede and Meta Knight send Kirby a letter challenging him to a duel
And then the very next screen goes: "Kirby did not know how to read, but rolled with it anyway"
@@ridiculicious It makes it even funnier that Luffy doesn't even want to be the hero. As long as the inhabitants give him food afterwards or he gets stronger out of it by defeating the opponent, he'll do it.
He doesn't mention it in the video, but Leon does get his soul back and continues to live happily with his animal pack. So don't worry, he doesn't end up like Haltmann. 👍🏽

My impression of Kirby as an entity is that he is a being of PURITY more than anything else. He is so pure in fact that he can take on the traits and abilities of those he choose to absorb. His purity is also why Morpho Knight fails to defeat him. Morpho Knight is a being of JUDGEMENT and because Kirby is too pure he has nothing to be judged for.
That does make sense actually. Not sure if I agree with that but it sounds cool

If you’re curious, there has actually been more lore added even after this video. One big example is the remake of Kirby’s Return to Dreamland adding a new mode where you play as Magolor, and it straight up confirms that Team Kirby Clash, a side mode turned free to play game, is canon to the main series and Magolor was responsible for the microtransactions in that game.
Magolor canonically changed his desires from world domination to capitalism.

Apparently the dream kingdom's king who decided to make Magolor's gem apples the new currency, which in both the Masked Dedede gear description and website is heavily implied to be alternate King Dedede.
Still essentially corrupted the dream kingdom into microtransactions tho. Good job Magolor old buddy.

BTW, RPG Monger doesn't explain it, but Leongar actually DOES live, because Kirby and the Beast Pack managed to gather the pieces of Leongar's soul throughout the Isolated Isles and restored him to his former self. No Haltmann or Sectonia endings here...yet.

Galacta Knight has actually already been indirectly brought into the main canon, as another Kirby game that released after the video (Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe) has connected Super Kirby Clash with the main series, which makes everything that happens in the game (including Galacta Knight) canon, although it takes place in a different universe (there is a Kirby multiverse now)

Out of all the terrifying eldritch monsters in the Kirby universe or galaxian warriors, the tiny orange butterfly seems the evillest and the most powerful lmao
The thing is, the butterfly is probably not really evil - it's death, a neutral force of nature doing its job. Remember, its two appearances had it take pity on a fallen hero wishing for the sweet release of death and trying to get rid of a pure evil powerful entity. As for why it fights Kirby... Who knows? Maybe like other Knight characters, it just likes sparring.

@@DarthMolgy I think it's just perspective based but the butterfly always wants to kill Kirby and his friends, not just a neutral party so we can infer that they have somewhat evil intentions.
Given that apparently wielding morpho knight's power is for kirby, to quote the ability description, "a breeze", maybe mark the butterfly down as #2 on the power scale.
There are a lot of terrifying eldritch monstrosities across kirby's universe, but from universal repomen to Destroyers to the god of death itself, the little pink puffball still takes home the gold.
That’s just a consequence of the fact that Kirby fights these terrifying eldritch creatures and can’t canonically lose because the player controls him, as well as the games having to go back to status quo at the end. Given the difficulty of morpho knight’s fight it might be closer than Kirby’s record would suggest. As for why wielding that power is so easy for kirby, like, it’s the best sword? In every way? it has all the upsides of the giant sword after you charge it while also being better than meta knight’s sword, and it gives extra attacks and better dodges. It’s not exactly the most technical or hard to use ability.

There was a remake of the magolor game and it did cover a few things!
-Magolor is the Kirby version of Judas
-Magolor did indeed lie about being from Halcandra
-Hell is real in Kirby (Magolor went to hell before playing amusment park tycoon)
-The Master Crown is sentient, and is confirmed to be the one or similar to the one void termina used to attack
-Its been confirmed as canon now that directly after getting out of hell, he began to scam kirby with apples
Here is the biggest twist of all that was never mentioned:
Kirby is 8 inches tall and literally a toddler who casually kills gods on a much weekly basis. So the reason he never has much reactions of what is going on is truly because he doesn’t understand what is going on either
The 8 inch height may not be true anymore, since if you translate some of the Forgotten Land text, it depicts the height of people needing to be ~3 feet tall. Even if that is true, maybe sizes are calculated differently in their world.
What’s even funnier is that if Kirby actually IS 8 inches tall, the bosses also have to be really small if you compare their height to Kirby.

The Waddle Dee you give the secret codes to in Forgotten Land mentions in his dialogue is that Kirby’s writing (how the codes are given; Kirby writes them down and gives them to the Waddle Dee) is extremely messy, but clear enough that the Waddle Dee can correctly guess what he wrote

I’m so excited that you’re getting into Kirby lore, it’s so dark but also so much fun!
In case you were worried, Leongar (or rather, Leon) actually does survive in the end! After defeating Morpho Knight, Kirby and Elfilin are able to restore the pieces of his soul with the help of Clawroline (or rather, Carol) and the rest of the beast pack. He’s shown in the post game credits alive and well!
In addition, I‘m not sure if this is confirmed, but I think there are some implications that Leon and Carol are a couple! They ruled over the Beast Pack together.
Also, there’s a lot more lore that was revealed in the most recent Kirby game, Return to Dreamland Deluxe. It has a lot of new content that adds more lore and builds onto the story we know from the original RTDL. I’d love to see you check out Deluxe’s lore one day!

I'm choosing to believe Haltmann and Galacta Knight are just being pals in the Kirby afterlife, rather than thinking the latter's still trapped within Morpho Knight. I mean, just imagine that meeting.

Also I would like to point out, it really seems the same thing what happened with GalactAeon Knight was the same thing what happened with the Ancients tech vs magic feud. "We're scared of this thing, so it's gotta go!" And that's assuming it's not part of the same purge; I'm pretty darn skippy he isn't from the tech origin side of things... Now add in that the tech Ancients were from another universe and potentially also humans.
Finally, here's a fun little bit of fridge horror! Consider how long ago the ancients apparently buggered off to Dreamland. Now consider how long it's been in the faster-flowing alternate universe! Isn't THAT fun?

She is portrayed as a girl in every game & manga she’s in. not to mention the Kirby Twitter puts up artwork all the time, and there was a Valentine’s Day post of All the male Kirby characters making things for the girls, and another picture of all the females doing the same. Ado was on the female post, not the male one. Kirby was on both, but he’s usually they/them in Japan.

fun fact: team kirby clash is now cannon, yup it is. this is true because at the end of magolor epilogue in the credits we see magolor gets sent to the kirby clash world, and it explains why magolor has gem apples in star allies
and note magolor's epilogue is one of the cannon side games, and also the side game morpho knight comes from is not cannon (guest star mode) but star allies is cannon. also most kirby side games (not talking about non-main series games) are cannon but some are not cannon. the ones I think aren't cannon are all the true arenas and merry magoland

Wow, a reactor who actually understands what is happening instead of assuming a lot of the things eventually misunderstanding it, is really entertaining to watch. Kirby lore is so good.

7:11 Technically he is canon now thanks to the remake of Return to Dreamland, which added a new epilogue that makes Super Kirby Clash canon to the main timeline, but it is set in an alternate universe.
I highly recommend Meteorz's What is Kirby Canon (the Dream Collection is a 2-hour-long video that combined multiple shorter videos into one). His videos go over some more things that RPGMonger didn't cover like stuff from the spin-off games.
I'm fully ready to buy the butterfly being a reaper of souls that should have passed.
I also like to believe that it's the same butterfly between the galacta knight what-if and the Forgotten Land story, since it can travel between dimensions.
Don’t worry Leongar is fine, the entire postgame is based on saving him by putting his soul back together which you eventually succeed at. So don’t worry he is alive.

I'd say "that were experimented on by humans" would work better, because not only would that describe Mewtwo more correctly but also you could include Cell in there.
It's always good to see people discovering Kirby lore and also seeing them like it.
A couple of things to note, about the last thing he mentioned with Elflin and the similarties to Void's attacks, there is some heavy speculations that Elflin may have been one of the four heroes of old that sealed Void away (like Galacta Knight).
Also, a new Kirby game recently came out, a remake of "Return to DreamLand", that further delves into the history of Magolor, the Ancients and the Master Crown. The final boss of that new mode is something else, especially the biblical symbolism (which actually isn't a new thing to Kirby games).
Anyway, if you want more Kirby content to react to, I suggest Man on the Internet's covers of some famous Kirby songs (there's one about Haltman too) or the eldritch concept art of Kirby drawn by the series director.
Also, little more info, Dedede in Forgotten land was the first to get transported into the new world and seeing Kirby nowhere to be found and being alone made him suspectible to Fecto Forgo manipulating brainwaves. When Kirby beats him when he gets the beast mask and break free, when he wakes up, he is genuinely happy to see Kirby. I think it showcase their relationship very well :3. And the newest Kirby game (return to dreamland deluxe) added some info and gets more in detail about Magolor and a certain spin off. you can wait until we get more content and games so rpgmonger can do another update or look at Meteorz recent video on Magolor :D

on the not so bright side: After Fecto Forgo went into statis after being split apart, the humans used him as a tourist attraction. They had this whole audio tour that they played on the speakers. Even though Forgo was asleep, they were still somewhat conscious of what's going on, and it clearly bothered them in some deep sort of way. The theme of the phase 2 of Chaos Elfilis starts off as a glitchy version of the audio tour. (Song name: "Eternal Echo of the Thrilling Tour-our-our")

Well since this video is late and Kirby Return to Dreamland DX came out later one thing is now confirmed that Super Kirby Clash is Cannon so meaning Aeon Hero is being cannon as well so it’s not anymore a non-cannon game event

7:18 Thanks to the most recent Kirby game (which is Kirby’s return to dreamland deluxe) super Kirby clash is officially apart of the Kirby canon
We’re still missing more than half of the Kirby Lore.
After this sequel video, a remake of Magolor's game was released. It came with a closer look at a theme park he built on Dreamland (as per his redemption attempts), as well as what happened in between.
Magolor Epilogue:
After losing to Kirby in his weird dark matter crown form, Magolor finds himself near powerless in what I like to call "space hell". (To be clear, Magolor could fight without the crown before, but that would be pointless with Kirby doing his dirty work)
After competing with the other inhabitants of this dimension for slices of this large gem apple, Magolor regains his powers with each one he gets. After bringing the last piece back to an altar, he is ambushed by the Master Crown's fragments possessing a new host. Upon destroying it's new body, the Crown takes the entire apple.
Awakening in a apocalyptic Halcandra (factory part, not the volcano area), Magolor has a final showdown with the Crown, now an apple tree behemoth.
Note: this fight is really cool, please watch it if you'd like. 🌳🗡️😾
With the fight over, Magolor finds himself back at the altar, with a portal hanging above him. Finally, he has atoned for his sins and gets to return to, what he hopes to be, his friends.
While we all thought Dreamland would be his next stop, the credits reveal he actually went to the Kirby Clash sponkff universe! Making both games (and the characters that appear in it) undoubtedly canon!! If only we knew Galacta Knight/Aeon Hero had already entered the main canon...
As the shopkeep, Magolor establishes the currency as Gem Apples, meaning he invented capitalism just to get this universe's Kirby**s** to collect the smaller apples left over from the Tree's defeat. After clearing out his shop, he changes back into his usual blue outfit and states he plans to pack up and leave, presumably back to Dream Land. Unless we get another Kirby Clash and/or Magolor story, this is the last thing he does before returning to Dream Land for maybe Triple Deluxe, but definitely by the time Star Allies takes place.
...and yes, the butterfly is still in the updated Return to Dreamland cutscenes. What are they up to? 🦋

As an actual Kirby fan, whenever I stumble across this video trend I check it out to make sure they’re doing Kirby justice
I think the one issue I have with RPGMonger's Kirby Lore videos, is that he doesn't really explain the plots of games all that thoroughly.
He tends to just skim over stuff and only touch upon the big lore revelations. Which makes a lot of stuff come out of nowhere.
Probably cause his target audience _are_ Kirby fans after all. He probably doesn't feel the need to recap stuff.
But I definitely think that a video merely going over the basic plots and characters of every game would be good. I think non-Kirby fans need an introduction to the series before a lore video will make all that much sense.
I thought it was crazy how in this video he immediately talks about Elfillin needing to be nursed to health, as if anyone knows who Elfillin is, or what event he is referring to.
Forgotten Land probably has the happiest Kirby ending in a long while. Leon gets his soul back, Fecto Elfillis is defeated for good, and everyone becomes friends.
I would actually recommend playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land in particular
It's a great game for newcomers and also provides enough challenge for returning veterans. The lore and stuff also isn't as secretly hidden

BTW, with the ending of the Return to Dreamland remake, Galacta Knight's fights in Super Kirby Clash became retroactively canon as it shows that Magolor was sent to the Dream Kingdom before regaining his power and returning to Pop Star.

Idk if this is canon but an ongoing theory is that Galacta Knight is an adult Kirby and Meta Knight is Galacta Knight's son who went back in time to train Kirby to defeat Galacta Knight because he became evil and is suffering. The butterfly being with Kirby almost his entire time being alive has seen him suffer the most and decided to take it into their own hand/wings to set Galacta Knight free while taking up his role of suffering and anguish. Thus becoming Morpho Knight.

Galacta Knight’s Canonicity is very weird in the lore. We have not seen Galacta Knight make an appearance in any canon sub games. Because of that, and because friend star allies isn’t canon, that would mean that Morpho Knight absorbing Galacta Knight’s power isn’t canon either…. Maybe. Assuming Morpho Knight has not somehow gotten his hands on Galacta Knight, and that it isn’t a matter of something we haven’t seen but actually did happen in canon.
