- Police have released the identities of the married couple found dead in American Fork Thursday and are ruling it was a murder-suicide.

Yes, that’s ridiculous. Clearly money - earning it, spending it, and displaying it - meant a great deal to these people. Having money enough to hang with the upper echelon of society was likely the backbone of every aspect of their lives: whom they socialized with, their jobs, their hobbies, their vacations, and their reputations. To me, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the grandiose doofus did pilfer away a bunch of money a/o pulled other financial schemes like phony investments or mortgage scams. Follow the money, right?

I've been watching too many murder shows. It's frightening the number of people killing spouses and other loved ones. And it's been going on for years That's some high level hate there.
Yes, I agree. Seems like it happens all the time. Actually, I just remembered, ten years ago, a nice respected female co-worker of mine, waited in front of her house for her husband to come home. When he did, she shot him and then killed herself right there in front of the house for all to see. Left behind two teenage children! Everyone at work that day where in shock!

Thank You very Much. I am 80 now and Trama came later..even worse. From a marriage to and abusive man. Trama affects you in different ways and can last a long time. I chose a very poor partner for myself..But it helped me understand my parents better!

We will never know the Truth here. What is important is that the family can heal. No one can imagine the grief they are going through. Beyond tragic.
It happens for an infinite number of reasons. Some folks aren't capable of asking for help. They feel it's a sign of weakness. Others may be trapped by disease/disability. My sincere condolences to the friends and especially the family.
Financial stress due to massive debts is often a contributing factor.
Also if someone wants to leave the relationship.

I’m not sure what they were going through, but I wish someone would or could have reached out for help. It’s easy to be angry at the person responsible, but I try to remember that they were also in the family, and the family must be devastated, right now.
HOPEFULLY, the children will eventually become advocates for Domestic Violence. People like to sweep things under the rug but this needs to stop.
This is a huge reminder and wake-up call to all family members, Bishops, Pastors and Friends as well as neighbors. If you sense things are awry, say something. People feel there is no way out, when in reality, yes, there is a solution to every problem that does not involve death. People that are distraught in relationships, have financial problems, or other difficulties can get assistance or counseling with finding solutions to seek changes. Even being shamed or embarrassed over indiscretions can be overcome and sometimes forgiven. Seek higher ground and work hard to make things work out or make changes.
Easier said than done. Getting help from strangers/acquantices would never work for me, and many others, as it would be MORE anxiety producing and traumatic, not less. Luckily, I have a great husband and a lot of inner strength. Those who are weak, have very little options if they don't have any close friends or family.

A colleague committed suicide about 6 mos. after emerging from depths of depression. Psychiatrist said it’s when they are in recovery they have the fortitude to act on their desires good & bad.

My time in the service a soldier parents did same story here. What happened was his mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. One of those you have 4 months to live out of the blue scenario. Dad shot his mom and then killed himself. He said his dad through the years growing up his dad would say if my wife died I couldn’t go on I love her that much. Death do us part.

When a woman attempts to leave an abusive partner, her risk of being murdered by him goes up exponentially.
She most likely was cheating and wanted a divorce. So the guy figured it would be better to do this than to go through a divorce and end up in poverty. He might have been right.

Thank you, she was a friend of mine and one of the most amazing people I have ever met. The community is devastated. So many of these comments are disrespectful, yours rang true. Even though I knew her, we will never truly know what went down in this terrible tragedy. She was very happy, upbeat, confident, talented, and kind.
