Just wanted to drop a comment here and say it's because of you guys I got the idea to have 2 x drop down picnic tables on the van 👌 Also you sold us on the carafan after watching the Ahnem land episode showing essentially no dust inside. Were picking our van next week and are super excited to say the least!
New to the channel, really like the thought that you put into the build, everything the best for purpose but not overkill! Your van is awesome, we still at campervan stage ourselves.
What a handsome intelligent couple you are. Absolutely fantastic video. You make some extremely good points on how to save weight and I will be keeping it in mind when I come to buy my first caravan! 👍🇦🇺
Thanks for the tour of your van. I am taking delivery of my new duel cab 79 series with canopy in July and my new 20.6ft titanium semi off-road in March next year. Some good tips and ideas I will be considering as extra options.
It's people like you that make me glad my children Days Are Over. LOL pure luxury and freedom. No more compromises. But in your case you applied a good sense of compromises to suit your needs. Cheers. 🇭🇲😀👍🍻🍻
Nice van and video . Terrific info for all . I also have dropped my gas to 4.5 bottles in my upcoming build with rack above to mount bike rack. Opted to delete front box as well, as we will have external storage hatches under bunks for added storage . The weight savings was super important to us too . Safe travels .
They were at the top of my list when we were looking. They look great, but no dealers would sell the floor stock. Having to wait, we ended up going with a Zone 18.6 and pretty much identical in spec except for the roll sleeve airbags......how good are airbag suspension?? Soaks up the bumps and the van is stable as at any speed. Enjoy your travels. We're off to Broken Hill and Menindee end of May. Cheers Daz
With that much solar you need another converter, split the solar array from front to rear this give you another 40amp and if you lose very little in the solar panels in the shade
We were aiming for around the 18ft originally. But we are now in an Conqueror UEV-14. See our rundown vid. Everything has pros and cons mate. I know that’s not much of an answer sorry 😂
Great rundown, thanks for sharing! What colours did you go in the van? we have a titanium on order but have not locked in colours yet. Love the ones you have chosen!!
Hey Kristen, Megan here. We did the metallic dark grey clad with custom Landcruiser “Sandy Taupe” decals. We wanted it to look different…..and to match the ute, of course lol 😆
Great vid guys. I’ve watched it more times than I’m happy to admit. Would you mind please confirming your indoor colours including the floor, cupboards, bench top, and lounge? It looks like you have chosen well. On a side note, are you happy with the small black sink in the bathroom?
Thanks Nathan! Here’s the colours we went with: - Floor: Swan Dark Grey - Cupboards: NX-625 - Benchtops: Grey Bardolino Oak WG - Splashback: Arctic White - Upholstery: Vegas / Metal We also chose the “Black Pack” throughout (black handles, taps, sink, black trim around bathroom doors)
Hi Guys, looking at ordering some of your gear especially the solar panel clip. Curious to know why you sold the Titanium? Were you not entirely happy with it or was there another reason? We are looking at building one soon. Thanks
Hi Dan. The Titanium was a beautiful van mate, but we wanted to get into something smaller, that’s all really. And we are stoked to be part of the R and D for Conqueror.
How are the cheap laminate bench tops holding up? The display model l saw had already chips taken out of it along the sides which turned me off. Dealer tried to say is due to weigh saving then proceeded to say it has 900kg of storage? They would not consider a hard-wearing hybrid bench as option.
Guess I will get an airstream custom, and get shipping to down there. So sad and dissatisfied with what my friends there have to.d me.was willing to get the top model
Nice van and video guys. So the tare weight is 2640kg Whats the ball weight loaded? And can you load it up to whatever your GCM is in your crusier ? Most importantly how much does it cost? Thanks for your help in advance 👍
Hi Jeremy. We have weighed it fully loaded and it was very close to 3500kg and the ball weight was bang on 350kg with bikes on. We end up around 7100kg fully loaded, our gcm is 7400. We probably won’t go into costs to much as the caravan industry along with many others are forever changing and increasing.
GVM upgrade kits are pretty dodgy, especially on new cars. Well worth talking to your insurer and car manufacturer before you fit one. After all, as mentioned in other videos, if it was that simple, why would car manufacturers not already do it? GVM upgrades put massive stress on the chassis
Would you recommend the higher front that you have over a lower front (which would limit the height of the tunnel boot), and if so would you mind outlining why? Currently looking at a non-ATX which has the lower front.
Hi Taku thanks for the comment. We started with the hardcore and optioned it with the higher front as the first step into an ATX so yes we would def do it again, the extra storage it offers is worth it for us without making the van longer or heavier. Having the Weber 2000 fit in the tunnel boot is awesome also.
@@SmartTouringSystems Thanks for the quick reply. Was there any reason you went with the ATX and optioned it down vs going with the Hardcore and optioning it up?
Thanks guys for the rundown on the van. Very interested to know what tare you achieved, I have 19.6 SS Hardcore and we ended up at 2580kg, what's yours?
Beautiful van guys! Girly question I know, but can I ask where the doona cover is from? It's the exact colour I've been looking for but cannot find. many thanks
Hey Taryn, Megan here. Love the girly questions ha ha! I got the doona cover from good old Adairs, probably about 2 years ago now. It’s a Karina Jambrak design. After we ordered the van I went crazy buying all the interior stuff, then stored everything whilst we waited for the van. I’m sure most women can relate!
Ball weight is 350kg, GCM 7.1 GVM 3.85 I can be 7.4 and 3.9 respectively as ive had it upgraded. To be honest I would say the rear axle load would be touch and go.
Mate I know you are just teasing but don't make fun of your wife...Instead of these insulting things you say, say positive things, after all, if you were taken seriously ill, who would be by your side?
you are totally wrong about charging up more batteries- you need a proper well thought out system with the right amount of PV panels and also alternator. most high end touring folks have 800 or more amp hr of lithium batteries ( now using 48v) - proven to be superior, so you are very wrong or totally uninformed...... Just go look on Safiery YT channel - you are unfortunately very uninformed. Having 40 ah charging is the absolute lower end. Please learn more.
Thanks for your opinion. What you have described is a very expensive solution to a problem that does not exist for most. Being that most people do not need that much power.
This was the best ‘To the Point’ caravan advice/tour video I’ve seen. Absolute common sense stuff
I really like the placement of the bike rack. Very nice trailer. Cheers!

Very informative video. Thanks for sharing. We're getting a 21 foot in October so your video gave us some great ideas.
Glad it was helpful!

Crikey! I was sucked in by the awesome looking trailer, mate. But here in America we like our conditioned aire yea.
Great video, thanks for battery system explanation.

Mega setup, good ideas there. Nice one go steady
Each to their own. I went with Victron hardware. Streets ahead of Enerdrive imo. 600ah batteries with a Victron 3000 multiplus.
Victron is very nice gear. And 600amp is a good amount of lithium also.
Thanks guys enjoy the video how much did it cost all up
Such great tips and advice.
If you have an American truck you wouldn't worry about weight so much but I love toyotas. I agree with you. Great setup mate. 👌

Hey mate, what is the width of the busy bee and length of the bristles ? Are you happy with it? Cheers
Hi guys. It is 2.4m wide which I cut down slightly and the bristles are 350mm and yes I would do it again.
