Simple man is one of the greatest songs ever written. Not many songs give that euphoric high on the thousands of listen's later as if it was the first. So many bands cover this song and do fantastic jobs but the live version off One More From The Road album is faultless . Absolute classic
I stood next to that stage New Years Eve 1999 and watched Sammy play. What a guy, the girl next to me wanted his guitar pick. He told her "lady I only have one pick" so I reached in my pocket and pulled out a handful of picks and held them out to Sammy. He took one, gave his to the chick by the stage and she was giggly and ran off. He played all night. After the show I have my back to the stage talking to some people and Sammy tapped me on my shoulder and said "hey man, here's your pick". So I stuffed it in my pocket will all the rest of the picks. I've never seen a more down to Earth guy on a stage.
In 3 days it will be 45 years since Ronnie died. We still remember. Just a few days ago the people of New Zealand voted Simple Man the greatest song of all time on Rock 2000 Thank you Sammy
Hitting its stride haha imagine thinking that fiends are respectable. they had one song everybody listened to other then that they'll be forgotten by the world of music when these old people die and take that trash with them..make room for newer talent
@@zaev670 According to spotify, Skynyrd had 15 mil plays this month. Van Halen 12 mil - Rush 4 mil - Petty 9mil. - 7 Skynyrd songs have over 50 million plays. Sweet Home Alabama over 1 billion - more than any Zepplin song or Beatles or Stones or Elvis song. Are you just trying to be funny?
Props to the Spanish speaking drummer to hop in on the fly like that. Unfamiliar songs for drummers are tough to play intros; once he got through a couple of measures he was rock solid with nice fills and flams with the less is more approach. I’m sticking with the theory there was no practicing for that song, that way I stay impressed. Sammy can sing and play guitar leads for anything! Great job as always

Samuel Roy Hagar! I grew up listening to him and he is still one of my favorites! I also respect him as an awesome parent and great businessman! Plus God Bless ya Sammy for all the kids you help as well. I lost my daughter when she was 6 weeks old and premature back in April 2005. So when I say thank-you to this man ,It is because I know how much he does and never lets many know. He helps kids because he has a big big heart and makes sure where the money goes and makes sure it directly helps to save a bunch of kids and to me this is giving back and showing God and paying back like we all should do. He is humble and shows how thankful he is for his own family and helps others to be role models by his love for one and all so thankyou sir. " Luv ya Sammy,,You the man!
Stay active folks, dont get fat and you to can drink tequila and run around on stage whenever you want well into your 70s just like he does. Never stop living life and stay positive
My one and only visit to Cabo was fun....I went to Cabo Wabo thinking to get some lunch. Walked in...grabbed a table...and 15 min later no one even bothered to help us. Got up and left....found a little hole in the wall restaurant and some of the best fish tacos ever. I still like Sammy and don't blame him for this. If I'm ever back ill try it again. Love me some Skynyrd!
I’ll be honest, I was not a Hagar fan per say as a vocalist , pretty damn good musician, but after seeing him on the interview where he describes the details about how he uses his jet to deliver organs for people around the nation for the Red Cross thAT gave me the up most respect to him as a super human .
Nope! Ronnie would have said WTF? Ronnie wouldn’t have liked seeing his gem butchered. Ronnie was a stickler for getting every little detail right. This doesn’t even remotely sound like the same song. Hell, Sammy didn’t know half the lyrics to the song! The lead guitar part, pathetic! And you praised this abortion? Ronnie was a proud man, he would have wanted his music properly represented and respected.
I am going to Cabo over Thanks Giving and I pray Sammy makes an appearance as you cant go to Cabo without going to Cabo Wabo period. Sammy ages like fine wine, dude is a legend and doesnt look a day over 55!
I've been a fan since Montrose in 1974 at the swing in san Bernardino, Cali and you nailed it again Sammy you still got it bro don't ever loose it. Rock on
Good job on the Skynyrd simple man . the 20th of this month will be 45 that Ronnie , Cassie and Steve left us here to enjoy their talents without em. I believe Ronnie would appreciate you and other musicians that play his music anytime they want He left it here for us
I have seen Sammy many times. First time solo at the memorial auditorium Sacramento Marching to mars tour right after VH Then many times in Tahoe one of the more memorable times was the last time with the reformed Montrose about a year before Ronnie died. Sammy is by far the true rock and roll performer He truly loves what he does Love you Sammy
I remember Shinedown playing this in 04' in Chicago. I was at the Cincinnati show in 04' too, by far the best show of that tour. There is boot of it on yt. 9-18-04
Love the man . Too much tequila tho . Pulled a Dave and forgot the lyrics 🤪 LOL....Happy belated Bday to the man . Just saw John Cafferty and the BBB last night . 71 years old and hasn't missed a beat ... Rock on Eddie and the Cruisers .....
Skynard is recording a new album now in Nashville, Sammy is cutting this song on that album, so most likely a little rehearsal for that, Dolly Parton will do freebird
I really appreciate you being a great fan,it really mean alot to me .I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music and watching my videos 🎼hope to hear from you soon❤️.
Sammy came to the motor city and rocked it out, at pine knob put on a great show had an excellent time , Detroit, Michigan knows your a bad motor scooter
I loved DLR as the front man of VH BUT SH is the total package! Better voice and can play the guitar, plus he seems like the kind of guy if you bumped into him in a bar you could just sit and have a beer together no big star BS!!!!!!!!!!!
True to this day still can't drive 55. Saw you at Townsend University many years ago with Aldo Nova opening act. Loudest concert ever been to it was the best.
Now that we recently lost Gary Rossington, I stumble across this. Wtf? Sammy is always on point. Wow! I got nothing left to say, coming from the South.
Skynyrd never gets old their music will last forever
This is why this man is loved by millions.Just a true down to earth dude.Awesome again Sammy!
Amen to that.
So glad he was part of my life from the 70s until today..
Sammy Hagar is the best!!!
