Yes, that's true. You won't believe it, but I also like this E-class model. Especially with V8 engine E500.... 😅 And maybe one day I will buy one too. And now, thanks to you, I will learn about his problems...😊
Looks in great shape. Do you think these tend to be more reliable or cheaper to own than the comparable bmw?
Thanks! I think the e-class is a competitor with the 5 series. Some Mercedes parts are definitely more costly from what I have seen browsing FCP Euro's site. I believe these early models are some of the most reliable engine/transmission combinations ever built. The later e320 had 'balance shaft' issues that would destroy the engine. Perhaps 2003 is peak German car! So far the W211 feels quieter inside than an E39, more luxurious and less sporty.
W211 should be compared with E60.

you're right! I wanted to try the W211 CDI but the oldest model is 2005. I needed a 2004 or older to put my classic license plates on. Long story short, I can finally try a 2005 CDI model next year in 2025!
