      I was never a huge Teddy fan, but he and I do share some personality traits. At the very least he did love being a man and he loved his country.

    So would you say its hard to schedule a week off of handyman things to take family vacations anytime of the year? Is the majority of handyman work on nights and weekends when homeowners may be at home and off from their jobs??

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  6 місяців тому +1

      It all depends on how busy you are. I purposefully acquired enough work to make the amount of money that I needed to make to support my family and that amount of work did make it hard to take time off but that was my doing. If you're not trying to make six figures then I don't think it would be hard at all to take whatever time you wanted as long as the work got done.
      As for nights and weekends, That depends on your skills at scheduling. There's a way you can talk to customers that will result in you working nights and weekends and there is a way to talk to them but mostly results in customers taking whatever time slots you have available for them. The more likely you come across to them as a business, the more likely they are to schedule around your schedule.

    Do you refer to yourself as a handyman to your clients? Is that your business description outside of being an a trade reference?

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  7 місяців тому +1

      Only working for property managers, the Tenants refer to me as a handyman but amongst ourselves with property managers we just use the word Vendor. I refer to the business as a property maintenance business.

    • @JesseWickline
      @JesseWickline 7 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, that makes sense. I’ve just noticed over the years that there’s a negative connotation to be in referred to as a Handyman. Nothing wrong with it. In my opinion I think it’s a great way to earn a living and I do handyman repairs as well.
      I’m still amazed by some of the things that people choose to pay us to do considering how easy it really is to do. I wish you a very nice day and continued prosperity this year.

    Great video, can you do one on what sort of jobs to turn down? Which ones aren’t worth the time etc, thanks

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  8 місяців тому +1

      I can try to include that in a video soon. Honestly, there are very few jobs that I turned down and they would be specific only to me. My general advice is to not turn down any job that you don't have to turn down. As a handyman, our specialty is supposed to be that we can do a little bit of everything. Of course, I'm 43. So my goals don't include learning every single thing that I haven't learned yet, but I still try to learn everything that I can.

    As I market property management companies I have used your dropping off a well put together packet but I'm finding a lot of offices with no full time onsite staff. Have you tried emailing property management companies to introduce yourself, if so did you have any success?

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  8 місяців тому

      Yes. Half of them aren't in the office but in person is the best way to sell yourself. For those that were not in the office I would mail a physical package to make sure someone opens it.

      I don't think so... It would be impossible to calculate the years of accumulating a little bit of everything.
