Although I don't experience same-sex attraction, I have found the principles that Rachel shares - of aligning our desires with God, transparency with Him, and the joy of precise obedience - to be so helpful in my faith journey.
This is one of the greatest interviews and testimonies pertaining to the subject of coming out of same-sex attraction/homosexuality. I had never heard of her before. She's absolutely brilliant, and so eloquent in her reasoning; she really dug and gleaned God's wisdom on this, not allowing her own flesh desires to win over ultimate Truth. She said so many things that are so chock-full of God's wisdom, I need to watch it again and jot them down, because they're just really helpful for the sake of defending the gospel in general. She's quite an apologetics expert, actually. What a gem to stumble upon! I pray this gets more views and that many people who struggle with that will be saved by Jesus! Glory to God - may this be an instrument to bring more lost sheep into the fold of our loving Father 🙏 Also, you are a fantastic listener - you allowed her to talk, and listened intently without interrupting.👍
Wow! Just Wow! I really hope you have future opportunities to have Rachael on again. I think I could listen to her talk on almost any topic - The kind of person you could just sit next to the fireplace and have deep conversations with. She is so incredibly insightful, rational, well-reasoned... An absolute delight.
I can see why so many found benefit from her article outside of it's original scope. So much of what she presented was very applicable to most any addiction issue as well.
I thank you both for this episode. I'm a parent to neurodiverse kiddos, two of whom are teenagers who identify at LGBTQ+. As such, they refuse to join us at church. However, I've been trying to figure out how to still draw them to Christ. While one has bitter anger towards God and anything dealing with religion, the other actually likes to have religious discussions from time to time and feels drawn to God. Unfortunately, she doesn't feel safe at our church and is put off by mainstream Christianity. I'm trying to help them grow where they are, and while the understanding shared I think is beyond where they are now, I'll have to give these books a read for further wisdom into how to draw them to Christ wherever they are at.
Thank you for sharing this, and thank you for your sincere efforts to draw your kids to God. Maybe you could reach out to Rachel and share this with her? I’m sure in her campus ministries she has spoken to so many people similar to both you and your children! Wishing you a very merry Christmas!
Excellent interview - I do think it's interesting that the Restored Gospel and eternal marriage helps to resolve some of these issues much better than mainstream Christianity.
Rachel’s so intelligent and courageous, I really enjoyed this deep philosophical discussion. It can feel very lonely when your single, but focusing on Christ has comforted me thru the bad days

I needed this though my daughter is 24. I pray people like you are placed in her path. Lead with love. Thank you.
Thanks, lots to think about.
I like everything about Rachel Gilson. Especially her decency and kindness.

This was so wonderful, thanks so much Tachel! I have a transgender child!
Beautifully articulated, Rachel! Thank you for being simultaneously eloquent and plain in your experience.
I love and admire Rachel’s eloquence
This is absolutely fantastic. Thankyou. I'm a gay disciple of Christ.
Thank you for your kind comment. And may God continue to bless you for your faithfulness!!
The explanation of setting someone up to believe false things / creating the problem is spot on. Great interview.
Thanks Spencer, I’m glad you thought so!

Great interview with a faithful, interesting and lovely person on an important topic. Thank you!

Totally agree, but her point on not making marriage an idol and extolling a righteous singlehood I found really enriching.
