This competition was called “the champions“ and yes she was a competitor. No, she did not win but if the judges were left to make the decision she would’ve won. Remember, there’s about 50,000 people voting.
Not on this competition, there were only 50, allegedly one each from all the 50 states. I gather they had to live within reach of the venue. The judges had one vote each.

I got chills when I heard her sing this on the show
It's more amazing that at 13, this was her arrangement designed to fit the confines of a two-minute window on the show. She didn't win because her parents and her uncle/manager wouldn't sign the AGT standard contract and sign away all her rights to this and other performances. She won in that she got exposure to the American audience that has catapulted her to fame on UA-cam, and a contract with Republic Records that allows her far more creative freedom than most record contracts. She took that story about why she performs in bare feet and is a published children's book author too already.
They say she was on the street and met a barefoot child who was an orphan. The orphan explained that she had no shoes. Angelina swore she would perform barefoot until everyone had shoes.

She performs barefoot since little young. She saw a barefoot child on a orphan and she took her shoes off and gave away hers to the child and said she will perform barefoot for the poor children. Angelina is a God sent child and her name sounds Like an Angel and her voice as well.

All they were interested in were something that would make them go "ooohhh...." "aahhhhh...", and since they had no clue about singing talent, that left them with jumping and tumbling.

Was curious to see if you would come back already today. But now you are addicted. This was the very first song I heard her sing and will always be special to me. She didnt win but she didnt need to either. This performance opened up to people outside of Scandinavia. People sharing her songs and reacting to them has made her popular all over the world
AGT got the publicity they were seeking, Angelina Jordan got the North American exposure (and the fulfillment of her dream to sing for Simon) that she was seeking, and millions of people got to discover perhaps one of the greatest musical talents of the century. And a few weeks later she got a contract from Republic Records. They appear willing to allow Angelina to control whatever creative content is marketed. She and her family seem to have final say. She is still in high School and her family has always said that her normal education and life, come first. Simon Cowell's company; and Disney and many others have been offering her large contracts for years (since she won NGT in 2014). The Jordan Family finally allowed her to sign with Republic. So far, seems to be a great choice.

So the story and about her not wearing shoes.. when she was six years old Angelina met a homeless, shoeless girl. They became friends and after they talked for a long time she gave the girl her shoes and vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them. Since that time, Angelina has always performed barefoot in public.

A lot of people believe that since she would not sign with the Simon Cowell/AGT machine that she was slighted on this show, maybe true since, believe it or not she did not make the top 5 (????) anyway, made no difference anyway, she received a lot of exposure to the American audience.
