I think the TT public is way to harsh on this guy, imo, he is totally understandable, just because he is a phenomenal talent doesn't mean he should eat, sleep, and breathe table tennis, even so he's done that for > 25 years, there's so much life has to offer and all he is trying to do is experience some of the other joys in this life. I don't think he has any responsible at all to train 24/7 x 365, just so that China can be undefeated. He has certainly done enough for China already, just accept whatever he has to offer now and enjoy the display of his skill and talents. Just let the guy live without bombarding him with a million comments about disappointment and irresponsibility, jeez, it's not like he's some bum loser.
daniel @ i disagree, all the other top 4 Chinese players have a stronger forehand than Jike, it’s hard to say which of them has the strongest for sure, but I would give the edge to Ma Long, because he can do any forehand stroke without flaw, and his flip is way above the others, now what makes Jike forehand unique is the amount of side spin he makes, not so much the speed, that side spin makes the placement and final trajectory very deceptive, btw, the converse is also true, Jike has the strongest backhand of all of them

ZJK has a fade way soft touch forehand that Ma longs does not uses, it the fastest I have ever seen.
