About the background of the book: 34 stories of people who found temporary shelter in the Isar valley after the war are told in our new book "LebensBilder - Portraits of life in the Jewish DP-camp Föhrenwald". 34 eyewitnesses, 15 authors, 5 translators, a 4-person editorial team and a photographer have worked intensively and purely voluntarily hand in hand for months to publish this book. In addition, there are many years of preparatory work that went into this project.
