    One thing this video really reminded me of was Coraline! She gets invited to a magical world where she's given a banquet of all her favourite foods and in return she's supposed to stay with the Beldam and play games with her forever until she dies like the other three children. In the final moments of the movie we see how all the elements of the world have their glamour taken away and the food turns back into bugs and beetles. Huuuge faery vibes.

      @@DianaHernandez-ce5ix Yes!! Wow looking back Coraline was full of stuff like that. The fairy circle, the dowsing rod, the cat who hops between planes, the other world being all an illusion made out of insects and rats and stuff, super interesting looking back!

    This is definitely a great overview of all the different takes on Faery food! Regarding the gift of food in return for a service: I believe I've also heard that not accepting a gift in return for a service can be seen as holding that being hostage due to the custom of a favor for a favor. All things in balance. What is received must be given in kind. So, accepting the gift, food or otherwise, balances out the transaction and allows both parties to be free.

    I take special considerations for the Fae when I forage for berries in the woods; the rule for a good forager in general is never to take all of the edibles you see, as it is important for the plant to replenish itself, for the wildlife to get their share, and for the Fae to have something yummy to eat too! Furthermore, if I pick a lovely looking berry and drop it, I do not pick it up as it could have been knocked out of my hand by a spirit who wants it to remain where it is! This is the closest encounter I have with Faery food.
    I also think that tales of Faery food also serve as a warning not to eat random stuff you find in the woods with no positive ID because, supernatural beings aside, you don't wanna poison yourself 😅

    This was so interesting! It reminds me of Snow White eating the poisoned apple. But what about religious stories like Eve eating the serpent's apple and being thrown out of Eden? Or Persephone eating Hades' pomegranate and being trapped in the underworld? Would you count those as faery stories?

    This is a great topic, please talk more about it :) I will say that the scarier part to me is the faerie wine. I truly value dignity and cringe at the idea of someone losing face. Also, it is not a mystery what happens when someone has little to no inhibitions. We see it all the time with narcissistic people, for example. On the more positive side, just look up Johnny Rotten interviews.

    I love all this 😻💖 it’s so interesting!
    I remember a classic poem called Goblin Market, by Christina Rossetti. And it is just like that! The protagonist was desperate for finding something as sweet as the food she was induced to eat by the goblins. A bit scary…but yeah that’s how it works 🤣
    I was wondering, what if you offer something to the fae (edible for them) at the moment they ask you to take their food? 🤔 is that bad manners or is it ungrateful for them according to their laws? 🫣

    • @Mintfaery
      @Mintfaery  2 роки тому +2

      Ahh thank you! Yes, I love that poem 💚 It would be considered bad manners to offer them something as they offer it to you, they'd think that they would be caught in a debt 😉

    Faery lore differs from region to region and also have different names in the difference cultures I will admit I dont know that much mostly the British Columbia Canada Kitwanga area Native storeys I heard from the Elders and I only know a few ( pretty much forgotten them actually ) I have heard many lore but they have a very common themes even the Children and adult themes . I am a total Fantasy scifi person mostly fantasy though. what happens is that the lore starts to get mixed up and into story books because of the fantasy tales.
    the most basic thing about faeries is they can shape shift into many things even rabbits like in Alice in Wonderland story.
    now days with some much humans destroying everything polluting and other things for so called progress and upsetting the balance of Nature I dont think I would want to be a Faery because i would be even more sad than I get watching such things because my connection would be even deeper :(

    I don't know who told me this: you should put out honey when you have lost something so that the faeries will return the item. It always worked for me. My friend and I have used this trick one night when we were hearing maniacal laughter coming out of their open closet with nothing electronic in it and their mom was on the other side of the house. It worked then. I don't know why.

    It makes sense that would be good to take a gift from the fae for a service or if they are literally offering you a chance for a life of dreams because they genuinely WANT to take care of you and WANT to legit have you be happy and healthy all the time, no matter if they want to have some of your imagination or get to see fruits of your imagination all while living in this carefree world. And tbh, it does make sense why if they offered you something and you said no and ect. They would be insulted, and be like "Well f**ck you then" cause to them one had such crapped all over their gift given by a very fantastic being lol. I could see that the partying for eternity thing happening for like people who are just awful human beings and there comes the fae and they do their thing, to me that's hilarious, idk about anybody else but to me that's funny :), that sounds bad but yeah still funny to me lol 😆

    Something I noticed in most of these kinda stories and beliefs is that whenever a human encounters a “evil” being they never just randomly take you or harm you it’s always like they have to led you on to say yes or offer something that you can’t resist. I always wonder why’s that? Like do they have there own rules they have to follow or sum🤔

    • @LivingSimplyyAstrology
      @LivingSimplyyAstrology 9 місяців тому

      True. I believe that it's because most of these "beings" are part of our psyche manifested in the aether. Basically, they can only appear / harm / affect us when we tap into that energetic field of energy and potentiality. The beings that are really outside of our psyche (although this is up for debate... some think there is nothing outside of Source) usually can affect us without asking us first. Just my pov...

      8:50 In the book of the neverending story, Bastian actually turns into a very evil and stupid selfish adult, who was almost actually doomed to his destruction because he was unable to return to the human world and was begining to lose his human memories, he is then rescued by some creatures who offered some useful skills and lessons like working hard to earn wealth and being humble and vulnerable. The book is way more brutal than the movie, Bastian even had a slave

    I think this is weird and crazy even though I can’t explain it I lit a candle and put (cloves)around it because it looked pretty and I took a picture of it and I couldn’t believe in the pic there’s I lil winged creature stealing my cloves. The cloves are actually falling out of her hands cuz she’s trying to Carry too many. I don’t know if there fairies 🧚‍♀️ but only at night when the lights are off I see them in my room hiding under a table that has a chiffon tablecloth or in a plastic see-through drawer I have. I started waving to them even though I felt crazy and they waved back now but for some reason lately I see them at my window they’re waving because it’s like they can’t come in anymore I’m not sure why but mind you it’s not the only weird thing I’ve seen in this apartment but that’s another story. I got the nerve up to tell my mom to my surprise she told me that her and my dad was scared of me when I was little because I would attract these things she never knew existed and then a month later she passed away suddenly for no reason anyhow I feel stupid for asking but I would appreciate maybe some advice anyone could tell me what do they want are they real or am I crazy if they are real what do they want for me I give them candies and little treats (cloves)but I don’t mess with them and I don’t ask for anything. Should I let them back in? but why and how did they end up outside.
