- The 2011 Porsche 997 GT2 RS is one of the last supreme analog supercars, and may be the best Porsche 911! Borne from Porsche's secret battle to beat the Nissan R35 GTR's Nurburgring time, the infamous 997.2 GT2RS is a legendary supercar from the Stuttgart manufacturer. Moving up from the Porsche 911 Turbo S, the GT2 RS Nurburgring dominance has since been a staple of the automotive world. Dubbed "The Widowmaker," due to its quick snap between under and oversteer, there's been plenty of GT2RS crashes, but those are due to driver control, not lack of a quality car. Not afraid to compete against the likes of Pagani, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, and others, it is truly a special vehicle. With tons of press from MotorTrend, Top Gear, Carfection, and others, there's no doubt the car warrants attention, but its history is just as interesting as the car is fast!

It is also important to note, that the 7:27 time that Nissan claimed was not matched/confirmed by any independent test. (Similar to Nissan's claimed acceleration times, I might add.) The German magazine sport auto, which tests cars as one element of its so-called Supertest in a very transparent and reproducible manner on the Nürburgring since 1997, clocked the GTR at 7:38 (and the 997 GT2 at 7:33, as well as the 997 GT2 RS at 7:24)
Like it was mentioned by Nissan, the GTR is not driven like any other rwd bias car, if you read the press kit, study how other racecar drivers drive it, and have some seat time, you will understand.
The 997 GT2 RS is one of the best engine Porsche have developed. An undiniable collectible piece for years to come.

After the 935, the 997 gt2 rs is my favorite. Not to say I'm not a 991 hater. But I like the street looks over the more track focus looks of the 991 rs
